I was invited here for lunch. This location is easy to find. There are plenty of spaces for parking. The ambiance is impeccable. The lighting is romantic, beautiful feline decor everywhere. Totally gorgeous! We had two of the best female waiters. The first one got our drinks and food ordered. We caught her right before shift change. The 2nd one brought our food. She had the same energy as the first one. The bread was yummy, it came out warm and with soft butter. We waited for our orders before eating bread and butter. I came here during Houston Restaurant Week and had a pretty decent experience overall. I forgot to take more photos because we started eating right away, but the food was solid and everything came out fine. Nothing really stood out in a bad way. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they made sure we were taken care of during the visit. This was my second time eating at Saltgrass, and once again, it was not exactly by my own choice. The first time I visited, my expectations were extremely low, so the experience ended up surpassing them fairly easily. This time around, though, my standards were a bit higher, and I can confidently say that I would rather not return again. The waiters were friendly and the food arrived in a timely manner, but the overall food quality simply does not justify the price for me. Like last time, my family ordered the fried mushrooms, and they were once again one of the better parts of the meal. They were crispy on the outside, cooked well on the inside, and paired nicely with the ranch dressing. For my entrée, my sister and I split the 12 ounce Cattlemen's Prime Rib with a Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, and French fries. We ordered the prime rib rare, but it arrived medium, which was disappointing. The fries were mediocre, the Brussels sprouts could have used more sweetness in the sauce to balance the bitterness from the charred pieces, and the Caesar salad was fairly standard. For dessert, my dad ordered a slice of carrot cake. I had tried it on my previous visit but did not remember much about it, so as someone who loves carrot cake, I went in hopeful. Unfortunately, I was disappointed again. The cake itself overwhelmed the actual carrot flavor, the raisins did not add much, and the cream cheese frosting had a slightly sour taste. Overall, I would much rather go to Texas Roadhouse for prime rib that is properly cooked, more affordable, and honestly better in overall quality. While Saltgrass has decent service and a comfortable atmosphere, the food continues to fall short for the price point. read more

Disappointment !!! Ordered the chicken fried steak lunch with garlic mashed potatoes. The CFS could not be cut with a regular knife. Had to use a meat butcher knife to cut it. Of course the breading all fell off. We have never had this experience with Saltgrass meats. Spoke with a supervisor she said we would have to go back to DoorDash which is understandable. It was the demeanor response. A solution was to speak with the chef. If a lesser or bad cut of meat is being used the chef can't fix that! Maybe the kitchen just had an off day.? Hopefully they pull things together. We know there are limitations when you use a third-party delivery. The lack of interest from the managers resolution being lI will talk to the chef just seemed like it was far cry from understanding the customers perspective. All staff accommodated our party of 9 with 3 changes to our reservation. Everyone was kind, professional & efficient. First time at this location. 9 of us came for lunch on Sunday after church with no reservations. We were seated after a short wait. Jose took good care of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. I really wanted to love this place because lunch here is excellent. We have eaten lunch at Saltgrass multiple times and every single time it was great. Unfortunately, dinner is a completely different experience. We went for dinner three separate times and each visit was worse than the last. Service was painfully slow, drinks were forgotten, and we repeatedly had to ask for sauces and condiments after our food had already been delivered. The ribs were the breaking point. What was served to my dad looked like burnt grill scraps thrown on top of the meat. It was embarrassing that this was sent out to a table. When we brought it up, the manager (Jasmine, I believe) and our server claimed that this was their style of cooking. That simply is not true. We have ordered ribs here before and they have never looked or tasted like this. Even the photo in their current menu does not match what we were served. For the prices they charge, the dinner service and food quality are unacceptable. It is frustrating because lunch sets expectations that dinner completely fails to meet. To go ordering needs to improve. I called and was on hold for 9 minutes and so then I decided to call from my second phone while still holding and they took my order after a one minute hold from my second phone - all while still on hold for over 10 minutes on the first phone. This location needs to do better with "first come, first serve" on to-go calls and coordinate a queue because it isn't fair for those that called first but have to wait longer for whatever reason. Last night I ordered online. Grilled salmon and my wife ordered some kind of chicken tender or chicken strip salad. Order took over an hour to arrive but that wasn't a big deal because we weren't in a hurry and it was a Friday night. When the food did arrive, it was awful. Grilled salmon was cold, chicken was cold, sweet potato fries were soggy and nasty, salad was brown. For $60 it was just not good. In a "kill two birds with one stone" kind of deal, I had dinner here last night to mark my birthday a week ago in addition to Houston Restaurant Weeks. Regarding the latter, it was my first time since before the pandemic that I partook. Since the event came back, I would tell myself to go somewhere but I never do. This year, however, was different. Also, it was my first time back at this Saltgrass in -- and I kid you not -- eight years. Not to sound repetitive, but I went with the HRW menu, which is broken down into three courses. I got fried mushrooms and baked potato soup to start the dinner, the bacon wrapped filet and shrimp with rice pilaf for the main attraction, and I concluded it all with a chocolate cake. For $39, I received my money's worth. The fried mushrooms were just the right portion, and they tasted great to where if given the chance, I'd eat my whole weight in them. The baked potato soup is textbook comfort food: rich, creamy, and wholesome. It's probably during the winter when it's ideal to have. As for the filet and shrimp, T-A-S-T-Y tasty. Loved how the filet was cooked to my liking. Anyone who knows me I like my bovine cuts medium rare. The shrimp was fried just as I requested, and every bite came with a nice explosion of flavor. High marks for the rice, too. My lone knock is both entrees should've been bigger. Finally, there was the cake, which came with ice cream beside it. It was good, but I was just about full so I didn't finish it. Because I wanted to watch the Astros game, I was allowed to bypass the 30-minute wait time and hang out at the bar. Came here for restaurant week for appetizer, soup/salad, meal and dessert for $39 which a steal! I ordered the fried mushroom for dessert and it was very fresh and the batter was light. Next, I had the cup of potato soup and it was pretty good, exactly what you would expect from a potato soup. Then, I ordered the smothered ribeye (Medium rare) and the chef did phenomenal with the temperature. The seasoning was top notch, not too overbearing and they made sure the mushroom ratio was enough. I took home my carrot cake cause it was definitely a lot of food along with the shiner bock bread and butter they provide. I ordered a roasted pineapple drink and it was 10/10!! Strong and sweet, definitely hit the spot! We came in around 7pm on a Saturday night and opted to sit by the bar. It was a quiet Saturday night oddly but it was nice to be out and about without too many sounds going on. The bartender was friendly and he did a good job making the drinks. Please be mindful of asking if you want the bone in or regular for the ribeye - there was a confusion if it was additional or not but the servers made it seem to be "it's a new menu" so we don't know". Not able to enjoy! My wife and I ordered our food (steaks) wedge salad drinks and the food all came out together. Great, except my steak, I believe was left over from the day before. It was not medium rare as ordered and I sent mine back. 17 minutes later I inquired about it and 10 minutes after that it showed up. We were a party of three adults. We waited until 230 so we would go after the lunch crowd, but we still had to wait forever just to get our drink order. The food took forever and my steak was so tough I couldn't even chew it. The waitress offered to comp another steak and suggested the fillet. It took so long to get it that I just got it to go. I got home and it was not a fillet...It was another tough sirloin. She said they would deduct the price of the first one, but they didn't and charged me for the one that wasn't edible and also for the fillet. This was really disappointing because I've been wanting a good steak for quite a while because I don't get out much and went there because I used to go there years ago and it was always so good. He started with the potato soup which was also good although not as visually appealing. I had the lunch bacon wrapped filet with fries and garden salad. Salad is fresh and plentiful. Steak was cooked perfectly at med-rare and seasoned well although very small. 6pz looks about 4oz once cooked for $24.99. Regardless it was all good quality and tasty. Was looking for a place that could accommodate a gluten free member in our party (me!) but also had regular yummy food for the whole family, and Saltgrass fit the bill. I read they had a separate double-sided menu for gluten free patrons, so I was really excited to come here. I tried the burger, which was my first time accepting GF bread at a restaurant since being diagnosed and I am fine (it's been 36 hours). The whole table left their plates clean and really enjoyed everything they had, from the appetizers to the entrees to the drinks. Highly recommend for anyone with a gluten dietary restriction and a family who eats without restrictions!! I had often driven by this Saltgrass location, and decided to try it to utilize my Landry's birthday reward (Check out their rewards card, it's pretty good - free $25 loaded for your birthday every year!) We usually dine at the Kemah Landry's but decided to try the Saltgrass in Webster instead. First of all, it's always a good sign when you walk into a buisness and they're BUSY. That was the case on this friday night, but their wait list is pretty easy, they text you when you're ready. You can also reserve in advance on open table. We went to the bar to grab some drinks (they do have a happy hour until 7pm M-F). Secondly, as a recent gluten-free'er, it is so refreshing to have a place that knows GF and has a full separate menu they can give to you. They even brought me gluten free bread when they brought my husband's normal bread. Such a great touch that is often missing in restaurants!!!!! The food was good and the meats were cooked to the desired temperatures. I had the steak and shrimp, and my partner had the steak and crab cake. His portions were a bit small on the cake and steak, but mine were larger. Entrees come with a side, and a soup or salad. The service was a tad slow, probably due to their business, but our server was attentive and caring. We had a good experience and will probably be back. read more
