Why is it every time I order takeout it gets messed up. I love eating here usually, it's always good, but when I order an order to go no matter whether I tell them to read it back to me, it always gets messed up somehow. Tonight I ordered a French dip and I got home and there was no surprise jus sauce. Last time I ordered chicken quesadillas and asked to make sure I got salsa and guacamole, and again I got home and no guacamole. Come on this is ridiculous. read more

Maggie's in middlebury has gone way down hill We got the tacos: chicken was dry, minimal flavor but they certainly didn't skimp on the cabbage!!! We had to ask for guac and salsa to help it go down easier. we asked about the abundance of cabbage in the chx tacos as we thought there wasn't any as the menu didn't specify and was told by the pompous, probably inexperienced manager? That the menu was incorrect and the server should have told us that there will be cabbage in the chx tacos. Big cop-out if you ask me. anyway we felt the need for some compensation so oh boy! Get this! Ok, so I gave this place a second shot! We went to the Middlebury one and had a MUCH better experience. I have to say, this Maggie's is by far the best. Sitting on the outside patio is a must. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. We felt well taken care of and the food was great! Again, I love all the vegetarian options! Now they just have to work on more vegan options ;) it's just a really great place to unwind on the weekend. Check out the patio and definitely have desert. The chocolate cake is the best! read more

Terrible service. Waited to be acknowledged for over 10 minutes. By the time someone came there were three other parties behind us waiting to be seated. No one to be seen, anywhere. Then some kid came to seat us- no thanks for waiting and informs us he has no menus. Seats us and never comes back with menus. The terrible service continued as we waited for ten more minutes to be acknowledged by a waiter. My sandwich came out missing the tartar sauce and my husband's soup was served without a spoon. Another 5 minutes to get someone's attention and another 5 to get it. I know it's a chain restaurant and all I wanted was a good sandwich. Shouldn't be that hard especially when the restaurant is half full and on a Saturday afternoon. Definitely will not go back. read more

I think that when you have 125 items on the menu you are probably not going to be able to provide fresh good tasting food in most of the choices. I've had OK food here but nothing memorable. Their prices are a bit high as is their alcohol prices. I does have a nice bar crowd. I do feel exit 17 Maggie's is better than exit 15's. read more

I went to the one in Middlebury. It was awful. I spent 50 bucks for a Lobster Cobb salad and a glass and a half of wine. Salad was crappy, served platter style with the components in separate parts, like a stop n shop veggie platter. Lobster was overcooked, warm (with the rest of the salad only moderately cold) chewy and fishy smelling , not fresh. Tomatoes and avocado were good. Lettuce was "meh" on its last day. I mean, this was a 7 dollar salad I paid 20 bucks for. I'd have enjoyed it more without the crappy, fishy smelling lobster chewing gum in it. The brass Serving well draft station was disgusting, filthy , covered with grime, dust, verdigris. It looked like someone puked on it a month ago and hadn't been cleaned. No one cared. I asked the bartender for a manager and she LAUGHED at me! I went and got the manager myself and pointed out to him (Eric) how dirty the brass tap was. His reply? "We're replacing them in both locations". Fine, that's still no excuse to not clean a beer tap you're serving customers with! I told him, get some Clorox spray a rag and take 2 minutes to wipe it down! After all you're holding beer glasses underneath it and even if the nozzles are clean, contamination can still fall from the underside. They also use dirty glasses to place the bills and receipts in. Who in their right mind wants to stare at a dirty, fingerprint smudged glass , that's been handled 1,000 times a day right in front of you where your drinks and food are served? Who does that?Ten years ago people were standing on the 84 off ramp practically to get in, now it's crickets, and now I know why. read more

The atmosphere is fun! The desserts are amazing! My kids love the Smores. I had a dirty martini which was great. However the spinach artichoke dip was by far one of the worst dips I've ever had! Sooo many onions! That's all you could taste! But other than that the service was great! read more

Went there on Saturday around 4:00pm and waited over 10 mintues just to be seated (there was nobody in front of us and many seats). When were seated, we were placed next to the kitchen and then sat for nearly 15 mintues without anyone even taking our drink order. We overheard waitstaff talking about other customers and not getting their orders, etc. We left after waiting so long (and had a 2 year old with us). It felt very disorganized and clearly nobody was managing this restaurant at this time. Ironcially, we then drove to the the Maggie Mcfly's in Southbury and had a great meal and great service. We had been there before. Management makes a huge difference! Hopefully the owners will take note. read more

The first time we went here, we were not impressed and thought maybe they had an off night. So, we decided to try it a second time. Well, there will not be a third time that is for sure. The appetizers were cold, the service was slow, and the main courses were nothing to write home about. The portions are small and the food is bland. The quality of the food is always very good. The menu is extensive. I'd actually say it is overwhelming. Alcohol here is expensive. Food is priced just about right for what you get. Service is very inconsistent. Many times, the wait staff has gotten my order wrong. Service also tends to be on the slower side. Can be very, very loud at night because the bar is smack dab in the middle of the place. The restaurant area is very nice though. I've been here twice. The food has been great both times. They have a fabulous organic page with locally grown grass-fed produce and such. Myself and my company always love our food. The portions are large. Pastas can easily be shared. The atmosphere is great. I've sat upstairs once and outside on the patio one time. Service seems to be iffy. We attended on a Sunday evening, it took 25 minutes just to get a glass of water because they did not have any clean glasses, they brought me the wrong drink, 40 minutes later they decided to give us bread, my appetizer came with my meal, my husband and I were disappointed with the two dinners, then to top it off, the desert the primary reason for us going to this restaurant ends up in a bowl when it supposed to be served in a large cup to be shared. Wow, this place needs to turn on the lights and clean. I was there last Sunday, 8/28/16, I should have known when walking through the parking lot I could smell the stank of the dumpsters. Also, in the back of the restaurant, where we parked, there is a big sign on the open screen door, (which I'm assuming is the door to the kitchen), that said "this door must be closed at all times" Obviously it was open, and a few employees were standing near by smoking. We should have left then, but we were tired and starving after being on the road all day. We were led to the upper floor, it was so dark, it was ridiculous. Sitting down I had to brush old french fries from the seat. The table was sticky. The menu was as thick as a dictionary and felt dirty to the touch. Way too many items and not well organized. When you have so many items, its hard to do things right. Back to the darkness, everyone, had to pull out their phones to use the flashlight app, in order to read the menu. I noticed, this at other tables as well. I ordered a beer, which only comes in one size apparently, It was pretty small, not filled to the top for $6.50. I think it's supposed to be 16oz, but it looked like a 12oz glass. All the prices overall were pretty expensive. And they charge for every extra. $2.75 for a club soda, really? One positive, the chicken wings were good. They give you the tiniest cup of blue cheese dressing and if you ask for more, it is an extra charge. I don't like blue cheese, so I requested some ranch, again, extra charge. The waitress boasted it was house made, it was ok, but very runny. It was like someone added water because they were running out. My husband had the french dip, they gave him a little cup to dip the sandwich in, probably about 5 oz, He said it was not that great, and kind of dry, because there was hardly any dipping sauce. I had something called the Pilgrim, like a turkey wrap with a little side of gravy, extremely little. Probably about 5 oz's as well. Again, not that good. My son had the stuffed shrimp. Not that good, the stuffing was bland. The spinach was good. The best thing was the sweet potato fries, but they serve them in a little tin can, in an effort to give you less, but make it seem like more. Before I retired, many nights I would stop at Maggie's (Middlebury) and get dinner to go on my way home. Never disappointed. Well all things change I guess and some not for the better. I'm an not a meat eater but every so often I treat myself. Today I ordered a bacon cheddar cheese burger with fries and lettuce and tomato on the side. I was told that pickup would be ready in 15-20 minutes and I arrived within the appointed time. Brought my order home and boy was I disappointed!! The container was all plastic so the warmth of food had turned a plain old sesame seed hamburger bun into doughy mush. The 'cheddar cheese' was some kind of yellow processed cheese rather than the sharp fresh cheddar of long ago and the fries were soft meeting the same consequences as the roll as did the lettuce and tomato. Most of the bacon was cooked but there were some raw ends. Needless to say, this was a far cry from the $15 burger I was expecting. How would it be in the restaurant?? The food might be more palatable but the ingredients, I imagine, would be the same. Last time for me. read more

This place is certainly nothing to write home about... I came in tonight hoping it would be a great experience.. the hostess was absolutely rude and threw our menus at us before we even sat down.. our server came over and was so unprofessional.. they were on their phone while greeting us.. i'm sorry but that is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our drinks came out with fruit flys in them and we asked out server for another glass.. they now bring us a glass with no fruit flys but a GIANT CRACK right down the middle of it. Another cup came and the rim was filthy. Enough of this... So I went out into the car to get my thermos because I did not trust any of Maggie Mcfly drink ware. It was time for me to order my meal.. the server had no idea what I was saying. I ordered the Shellfish pot and they thought it was Paella. The Shellfish pot I had was so chewy it felt like I was eating fish right out of the ocean. Not to mention plenty of it was raw. My mothers burger was cooked well done when she wanted it rare and it had a moldy bun which we had to return. My son got the kids grilled cheese and let me tell you the cheese was not even MELTED! Like why grill the cheese if your not going to MELT the cheese!!! The fruit cup was fresh but filled with nasty honey dew. I asked to talk to a manager and the server bluntly ignore me. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse I witnessed a server serving LIQUOR TO MINORS! Mind you he did not check ANY of their I.Ds!!! Kids the age of 14-19 were getting served alcoholic drinks and talking about who was going to drive since they all were ''drunk'' .. im sorry but this establishment should not be SERVING MINORS LIQUOR! Ugh where to start. Went here for the first time last night. Stood in a cramped hallway blocking the door waiting to be seated. But once we were seated, we got a table that was halfway in the kitchen. I'm not joking. Waiters were pouring glasses of ice tea directly behind my head and resting them on our table. Table was soaking wet from being toweled down. We couldn't even talk because of the noise from the kitchen. It was so loud. I had to repeat myself over and over because of the noise of the dishwasher. And the smell. It was overwhelming fish odor. For 30$ a plate for a dinner and 15 for one drink, this atmosphere was totally unacceptable. Our waitress was nice. Food was good, didn't have a popular drink I wanted. The drink I did get the glass was hot from the wash and the ice melted. The bathrooms were comparable to a dirty gas station bathroom, dirty and stunk. Disappointed for the far drive to get there. So, after years of not going to this restaurant, I went back with my boyfriend. What a pleasant change! We ate upstairs, which was peaceful from more patrons downstairs. The light on the table from one side was annoying because was was bright, yet did not give off too much light. However, it was enough for me to see my menu and provide a nice ambiance. I suggest looking at the menu ahead of time because the menu is huge! Also, menu items come from local places, which is awesome! There was even information in the menu about where things come from! I do nto know if it is every item on menu, nonetheless a plus in my book. I ordered a small snack salad which was very fresh and delicious. My boyfriend had the pretzels and they were good. I also ordered red snapper with panko breadcrumbs I believe and a remoulade sauce with garlic mashed potatoes and corn/zucchini blend. The fish with sauce was very good. The garlic mashed potatoes had zero flavor. They needed more butter or milk and more garlic as well as pepper. I did not really care for the corn blend because it was mostly corn with little bits of zucchini. I would not have gotten it if I knew it was going to be mostly corn. On a positive note, the food was very hot. For drinks, I had two alcoholic drinks, with one being a Peach cosmo. It was okay, but just reminded me of drinking juice.I have had this drink before and it was better at other places. It was way overpriced too..$11. My other drink, which is one that I get a lot at restaurants was delicious, bigger, and was only $6. Go figure. So, I suggest asking prices of mixed drinks that are ordered. My boyfriend had the flank steak in a habenero sauce and it was delicious. The steak was juicy and cooked perfectly as asked. The sauce had a nice flavor, but not too spicy; and I hate spicy. I had apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was good, but the apple crisp needs more flavor. It needs more cinnamon and sugar. This is not against the restaurant, as the apple crisp was made at an orchard and brought it.The waitress was okay. She did not greet us or say her name and I had to ask her for her name. She was nice, but was not energetic. The appetizers that we had (pretzels and salad) did not come out at same time. He had his pretzels probably at least 5 minutes before my salad came out. However, she did recommend something when something for dinner that I wanted had run out. Good amount of parking. Most prices average for what we had that night. I would go back again because there were other things on the menu that I would like to try. read more
