From appetizer to dinner to dessert, and the drinks in between, everything tasted fantastic (try the chicken costolleta, for real). Even better was the ambience, and the biggest part - the service. The restaurant was very inviting. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated right away in a 4 seat booth that was a bit high but I thought it was a cute design. Our server was on point and she wanted to make sure we were accommodated for by trying to substitute things for us as requested. We went during lunchtime so we took advantage of the bar bites. Do not get the fish and chips and DO NO EVER ORDER DELIVERY FROM THEM. This place has the worst food to take to-go or delivered. My fish was not cooked all the way and got to my house cold. The French Fries were soggy and also cold. The spinach dip was a sad mess and the garlic bread was stale. I do not know if this place is any different when eating at the restaurant, but the fact that I had to cook there fish and chips in my oven was a waist of my time. The battered fish and chips were basically manufactured and frozen, so were the fries! The dip tasted like something I've bought from the store before and the carrot cake is questionable. I would give 0 stars if I could. We waited over 5 minutes at the front and were about to leave when someone finally walked out to seat us. She was unhappy, didn't give us enough menus or a high chair when we asked. So my husband just went and got what we needed himself. We waited a while for a waitress. When she came she took awhile to come back with drinks then just turned and walked away. So once again my husband had to get up and go get straws for the table. she eventually came back and took our order. Then we waited another 30 minutes to get food at lunch service! We had 3 kids at the table. When the food came out she placed it asked if we needed anything (only one wanted bbq sauce) then walked away. 4 out of 5 dishes were cold. The sweet potato was so cold it felt like it came out of a fridge. It also tasted horrible. Everyone's meat and fries were also cold. She finally brought the bbq sauce at the end of the meal. But dropped it on the table as fast as possible and rushed away. She didn't make eye contact or hear us asking her to stop. She never returned. The youngest child was starting to cry. We had to get up with our payment in hand and stand at the bar saying we wanted to pay out our check so we could leave. We will never return. Eat at Las Palmas on the other side of the mall. I love this place! The atmosphere in this place is a whole vibe lol. You can do dating night with your partner, a night out with the ladies/fellas, or just have a nice time with the family. You can't go wrong! I also love this love because of the menu. They have something for everyone to enjoy. It kind of remind me of Cheesecake Factory but BETTER! Even with a delivery time nearing 40 minutes for my location, I have yet to be disappointed. The menu may appear daunting at first, but but every item I have ordered has been very satisfying. I highly suggest the Texas egg rolls for an appetizer. If you you love exotic flavors, you can try the bang bang chicken and shrimp. The menu also has a rotating seasonal list that is well worth exploring. This review is strictly based on delivery, I have not experienced the in dining experience but I can only imagine that it is top notch. We should have known from the way the dessert case looked to turn and run the other way. This is the second chance we've given this restaurant. We won't be returning. The food was barely warm, in fact we had to have our daughter's pasta reheated. There was, what we hope was food, smashed in the pages of the menu we got. My husband went and got a new one himself. The size of the "bar bites" for the price you pay is outrageous! They claim to be locally sourced, but as my husband put it, there is no joy in the food there. We received no apologies for any issues we had. And the food we got wasn't fresh-it had obviously been sitting and just reheated. It seemed like our waiter was the only one really doing anything and everyone else was just standing around. This used to be one of my favorite places to go because they have a huge menu and good servers. Unfortunately, today was the last straw. The last 4 times I went there, they were out of each menu item I was looking for. Their veggie burger, poke, and their avocado rolls. I kept giving this place a shot. Today, I called to make sure dogs were allowed on the patio because I'd like to have lunch there but my house is being renovated so I have to bring my dog. There's barely any dog friendly places in the area so I was delighted to hear that we'd be able to go. Well, when I arrived they told me they didn't have enough servers and the patio was closed. Would have been great to hear when I called otherwise I wouldn't have wasted my time. Now I'm starving, I'm pregnant, and I'm pissed. Went here during happy hour and boy was I impressed. Not only was the food really good, it was also really cheap. Great place to go for quick happy hour during the week after work. First can we stop and talk about the steak skewers. Each order comes with two, and they're made with a sweet Asian glaze. The nachos are pretty good, if your into beans you'll love them. The oyster Rockefeller was different. Like.. it was good .. but different. Then the mini bacon cheeseburger sliders. Made with a sweet maple bacon that literally makes the entire slider !! We were seated immediately with no wait :) Their menu is huge so be prepared to take a little while to get through it. I ended up ordering the Mac & cheese bites as my appetizer. A+ for those. Maggie McFly's was different than I expected. It is huge! I can't imagine it ever being completely booked but then again its near a popular mall so I wont assume. Of course I ordered the Barbie Dream House drink. It was one of the very first pictures I saw when browsing on yelp. It indeed is very pink and tastes a lot better than it looks. When you see a pink drink you often think very fruity and/or a small amount of alcohol. This was not that at all. There definitely was some kick to it and it got stronger with each sip. Their menu is HUGE. There are so many choices it makes you feel slightly overwhelmed. Also, with that many different options you start to think if any of them will be any good since how can you cook such a large variety of foods. Couldn't be more wrong lol. The Seafood Paella tasted like seafood is their specialty and it is a huge portion. I had to take some home to eat for lunch the next day. Huge seems to be a common theme here and I like it a lot. Sadly I have to update my review. This past Tuesday I dined alone to celebrate a personal achievement from earlier in the day and I have to say I was disappointed with the customer service. I went in a little before 7 and was seated immediately and given a menu but here's where the issue began. I sat for over 20 minutes without anybody obtaining my drink order or being asked if I had been assisted. The table beside me was sat and order was taken immediately. Now I don't know if it was a issue with staffing but there wasn't a big crowd in the restaurant and I could count on one hand how many tables were seated. At about 26 minutes a manager (at least I believe she was since she had a white shirt on instead of black like the other employees) walked by and asked if I had been assisted. I kindly answer I haven't and she replied she would be back to grab my drink order. She returned about a minute or two later and did so. About 10 minutes later a server came and took my food order. The food was great and highly satisfying just as I remembered from my first visit months ago. The Philly steak egg rolls were delicious and I don't know what that dipping sauce was that came with it but it was sooo good as well. The aged NY steak was cooked to order and prepared perfectly as well. The smoked bacon macaroni and cheese wasn't something to call home about, and I'm a mac and cheese fanatic so that was a little disappointing. Overall the food was great and satisfying as I remembered but due to the poor customer service experience, I highly doubt I'd come back anytime soon. Businesses are struggling to stay a float in these times especially restaurants and customer service should be top priority. read more

This review is for ordering take out. My husband placed an order for the walnut chicken salad. He repeated to the person on the phone it was the light Zinfandel dressing multiple times. He picks up the order and we didn't get the right dressing. It's the dressing that's advertised on the menu. The chicken and walnuts were unglazed :( and made the chicken taste dry. Visited Maggie with a friend for lunch for the first time . Perfect location, lots of parking and many seating options . Their menu is Huge!! Lots of food and drinks . We order the sirracha burger , and soft crab shell sandwich. Presentation was simple and clean. My burger ( sirracha) I expected to be a little spicy, it wasn't. And unfortunately it was really greasy I couldn't eat much of the bread since it was soaked in grease. The other sand which was good . We order a kids pizza and it was good and pretty good size enough for 2 children to share. The service was Excellent! Taylor was our server , she was very attentive , we enjoyed her . I have updated my review and dropped as Maggie's again has left me unimpressed. I vowed to return for happy hour and well, I did. The happy hour specials aren't as great as everyone raves about. We sat at the bar and arrived on the back end of happy hour because the hours listed on google were wrong, they go from 3-6. We informed the bartender we were there for happy hour while joking about our time mix up and she was in no way welcoming to say the least & did not put my drink order in til 5:53. Luckily, her co bartender came and saved the day and he got me another drink right before the happy hour ended(after is finished a sufficient amount of the first). Chris, the bartender was great and helped improve my experience. In my initial visit to Maggie's I received under cooked salmon, so I was a little skeptical about the ordering again. I opted for the bar bites size of the wings and was pretty upset to find they were pink inside and a particular one looked a little off. I voiced my concern to original bartender who informed me they were pink because they were baked before. Eh, this could be true but I typically try to cook my chicken til it's not pink. I've been to Maggie's several times now with friends. What makes it a good option: there is literally something here for everyone because the menu is HUGE! Food: I've had several dishes here but some of my favorites are the butternut squash soup (so good!), lettuce wraps, and the shepherds pie. If you're in the mood for something not as large, the also have a lunch menu but I have found that those smaller portions are still very generous. There are a lot of great cocktails (try the Huckleberry Lemonade!) to choose from and if you're a beer drinker, there are quite a few options to choose from as well. Definitely make room for dessert: they have a delightful lava cake as well as cakes/cupcakes from a local bakery. Service: Always had fast, friendly service on each visit. Location: it's attached to the Lynnhaven Mall, right next to L.L. Bean and Barnes and Noble. Parking is never really a problem because there is plenty of mall parking. read more

I don't know if something changed, because the first time I went here the food and service were amazing. But then I went back for takeout one day and it was AWFUL! I ordered a caesar salad (which came with house made caesar dressing the first time) and got a container of wilted lettuce and RANCH dressing! Then I came back to dine in, thinking maybe it's just takeout that they aren't good with. But nope... service and food were awful. Our order was messed up (no sauce on my burger, no vegetables in my friend's pasta dish) and the server was hard to flag down. Dine-in orders 4+ stars...Takeout orders??? Not so much... Last week, I went to the dessert counter to pick up my call-in order, which was sitting in front of me on the counter. I waited and waited as three employees on the opposite side of the counter made zero attempts to acknowledge me-- any one could have easily said, "someone will be with you in a moment." After a few minutes, a manager went over to the entrance, and I asked for assistance. She saw that I was being ignored & apologized while completing my transaction. I am a repeat customer because they have a good selection and a large kid's menu. I've only had one like one hiccup dining in, but the service for pickup orders is subpar. Went here with a few friends and we had a good time! The atmosphere was really good, and they had a pretty big menu! We ordered the tower appetizer and calamari for starters both were good! For our meals friends ordered short rib grilled cheese, wagu cheese burger, seafood pasta and I had the lobster and shrimp ravioli with a side of sweet Italian sausage! I freaking love Maggie McFly's. Granted, I think I've order food from the menu, like, twice since coming here over 20 times, but their drinks are ON.POINT. Their bar bites are a steal. For $5 you can get a whole plate of nachos or a salad or a bowl of edamame. I love their fried mac n'cheese balls for $4. Their ahi tuna tower thing is to die for as well. Again, I'm a bar kinda gal. I've never been seated in a booth/table or have had a server. I've only sat at the bar and usually the same couple of bartenders are working and they are all amazing. We absolutely loved our visit to Maggie McFly's and have no doubt that this will become one of our go-to spots for a long time! We are already brainstorming who we want to bring with us and when because it's such a great place! I've noticed the restaurant several times when shopping at the mall but am usually there to shop not eat so never visited! However, we were hungry following our shopping spree and decided to give it a try! We loved the decor which was super clean and industrial looking! The menu completely won us over from the beginning because is there anything they don't have?! This multiple page (think 10+) menu has literally anything you want to eat from burgers to pasta, salad, soup, chicken, seafood, snacks, apps and more! Let's start with drinks-they have several pages dedicated to alcoholic drinks plus they have non-alcoholic ones including shakes that sounded delicious! They have the electric martini which is so fun and includes the colorful light-up cube that illuminates your entire glass! I loved it and had to have one! I tried the peach at the recommendation of the waiter and it was delicious and just a fun twist on a drink! Honestly though, if you can't find a drink you want off their menu then you are way too picky! Next up was the apps! They have two sections, one titled Snacks and one for Appetizers! Not completely sure of the difference other than the appetizers sounded like bigger portions! We went for the giant pretzel and loved how it was served hanging on the hook with delicious mustard and cheese! Yum! We could have just eaten off the apps or snacks menu as there were so many items to choose from! Then it came time to choose entrees and boy were we torn because again, THEY HAVE EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN on the menu! We asked for our waiters favorites and went with two of his suggestions-the blackened chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun with homemade chips for me and the brisket served with Mac n cheese and mashed sweet potatoes for him! These we're mouth watering good and so filling! We both needed a box and came home with a lunch portion for later! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for the portion size! Another thing that made this place quickly fly (pun intended) to the top of my list is that they source from many local places and dedicate much of the menu to explaining this! Many beers from locally and Virginia in general are offered, the meats come from farms in the area and even the dessert is from our very own Carolina Cupcakery and Homestead Creamery! The fact that this place originating in Connecticut has made the choice to source local makes me love it even more! Wonderful service, smiling staff, clean tables and atmosphere. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious! Valentines Day dinner win! Headed over to Maggie McFly's for Valentine's Day dinner around 6:15pm. Picked here bc I don't ever recall having to wait for a table. Jazmine was our waitress and she was super friendly and all smiles even on the worst holiday It was my husband, my teen daughter and myself. We did have to wait a little bit before she came by to take our drink order but I don't blame the waitress on that she could have been putting an order in. She took our order w/o writing it down and got it spot on. Food came out quick and was delicious. Jazmine was quick to refill our drinks asked if we wanted desert but wasn't pushy. I have always enjoyed coming here when wanting restaurant food without the long wait. We went to Maggie McFly's because we wanted to get corned beef and cabbage on St Patrick's day. They had a special menu today and we were in the area. It was the worst corned beef I have ever had. It was so tough that I could not cut it or chew it. The meat, potatoes and cabbage had no flavor at all. The Irish soda bread had a good flavor but they literally gave me a couple of scraps of bread. Like two bread crumbs and a small piece of bread crust. I have never written a bad restaurant review but there was nothing else I could say about this. So disappointing.
