To be a restaurant located at the mall it's exceptionally good. This was my first time here. Their menu is huge so be prepared to not be able to decide what you want, because everything looks good. I had an issue with my ravioli dish. The manager came over and resolved it instantly. Also had the kitchen remake my dish and offered me another item while I waited for them to remake the ravioli. I chose the she crab soup. It was delicious. When we were done I noticed that they comped my ravioli dish, I didn't ask for them to do that but they did. I really appreciate it. So I was here to celebrate my sons bday and surprise my exchange student on her birthday. I figured since I was taking my son to build a bear at here at Lynnhaven Mall... it was a good opportunity to try out Maggies. Since the place was newly constructed last year, I had yet to get a sample of their menu. I was excited to see for myself what this restaurant/bar had to offer. We had a group of 9 people. Assuming the business is slow on a Tuesday night off we went. There was a vast amount of seatings to choose from. Unfortunately we were too big of a group that we had to be split into two different tables. I was really looking forward for their happy hour specials. I only had 10 minutes to make my order before happy hour ended at The one thing that I didn't like was that the server was trying to tell me that what I was ordering from the happy hour menu was the same price as the regular menu. I told them I was trying to get the "bite" size and that was why I was ordering at the bar. Plus "bite" size appetizers are a different price. She couldn't fool me. I wanted to try an assortment of appetizers for under $5.. The "bites" were a good size. We went around trying them all. The roasted cauliflower appetizer was meh..mediocre. It's basically creamy cauliflower mash. The edamame, my kids favorite and you can't mess that up. The chicken wings was just ok according to my exchange student. The panko fried avocado was nothing to rave about. They ran out of crab puffs and also they ran out of pot stickers. How disappointing is that! When we got to ordering our entree, the salmon with quinoa was good,the veggie burger was not a real burger, but it worked. Eating while trying to obstain from gluten and being health cautious isn't so memorable for a foodie if u have dietary restrictions. Today I did just that, I guess I don't have much to say because I haven't tried a lot of the menu and I haven't found a favorite. As far as service, tsk tsk..on the person at bar that tried to convince me out of ordering from the happy hour menu did not make me happy. The seating wasn't fun either, having to talk across to the other table because we had to be separated wasn't good one bit. Also a major no no when they ran out of food on the menu item...(no crab rangoon for me) and service was below mediocre. My mom wasn't to happy with the waiter she had to keep hounding down. A long time of waiter for a water refill and to go box did not make her a happy customer. But as far as the birthday dinner for my son and exchange student. I was happy that we got to celebrate it. It was our first time at Maggies. I hope that things get better on my next return. When Maggie McFly's was first built, I thought it was just another chain restaurant coming to the mall but I was pleasantly surprised. I love that Maggie McFly's uses Virginia ingredients. It makes the menu more personalized to our area. I usually come here to watch NFL games since they have Sunday Ticket. The entire interior is gorgeous but their bar stools are some of the most comfortable I've ever placed my butt on. Their bar also has hooks which is a small detail that I love. My go-to order is their pizza. What used to be the White Pizza with Bacon is now the Chicken Alfredo Pizza. Still amazing, but with chicken. While they have a huge menu that can seem daunting, don't underestimate their fresh baked pizzas. Also, take advantage of their bar bites menu. It's a great way to eat a little bit of everything without breaking the bank. I tried their brunch about a year ago and my omelet, sadly, was overcooked. They definitely made up for it with their drink selection. They have signature cocktails as well as a variety of local and national beers on tap. Coming into the mall from International Dr, just keep going straight into the mall complex and make a right at that first intersection. Just go down a few rows and go up. This place is not too hard to find and has quite a bit of outdoor signage as well. My first visit here was on February 24, 2018. For the majority of the week, I was taking advantage of the restaurant week here in VB. However, I decided to go with something different since most of the places visited for that week were seafood. I had looked at the menu and options at home before coming in. They have quite an extensive menu, and I didn't realize that the place is actually a chain restaurant based out of Connecticut. What ultimately had me choose to try this place out were online reviews from those that have visited here before me. Once inside, seating was immediate. Originally, we were seated at a large round table that could hold many more than just the two of us. Once the server came to the table, she moved us to a smaller table, which was much better. She went to take care of another table quickly and came back with our drinks, in this case, water. During that time, we were looking over the extensive menu. The first 14 pages of the menu are drinks and such. Then the food options come in, and there were quite a few pages there too, so there's plenty to choose from. I think you could find something for everyone here. When she came back, she asked if we had any questions about the menu. I was divided on trying one of their burgers or their fajitas with chicken. She recommended the fajitas, so I decided to go with that for my entree. My mom decided to go with the Maggie's Fettuccine Alfredo. After about ten minutes or so, the orders came out to the table. The food was piping hot and looked extremely good. It was time to devour some chicken fajitas. For those of you that know me well, I have been to many Mexican restaurants in the area. I bring this up because fajitas would be a Mexican dish that I have gotten several times at those Mexican places. Now, back to here. These fajitas were simply awesome. They were probably the best fajitas I have ever had anywhere. The chicken was tender, there was a ton of flavor and spices in there that I actually felt in my mouth during and after eating. I would definitely order this entree again, but ask for more pico de gallo, as you can never have enough of that. They also had more peppers in there than I get at other places. After having these fajitas, it makes the fajitas elsewhere taste bland now. On a side note, my mom loved the Alfredo as well, but forgot to take the extra home. Service was on point throughout this experience. Water was refilled as needed and checked on us a few times to make sure there were no issues. One thing you'll notice when inside is that the ceilings are quite high, with a bar in the middle. It tends to be pretty loud in there for that reason, so plan accordingly there. Also, you'll see a board that shows they try to buy and support local. There are some places listed on that board that they use, with the places all being in VA or NC. Overall, I was quite impressed with this place after this first experience. I would have never thought this place would be a chain restaurant had I not looked online beforehand to look at their extensive menu. Prices are reasonable and commensurate with the size of the food portions. If you are looking for a different place to try out that has lots of food options and great experiences, this place is definitely worth checking out. I will definitely be back here again. I was whining to girly about eating here because I'm a pretty sophisticated gentleman and they are attached to a mall, but I made a grave mistake assuming that it was anything but amazing! We popped out the back door of the mall and went in a kind of side entrance so I didn't get to see the cool exterior. We had Mina as our waitress and she was great! Me and girly didn't have any complaints except that we had to unbutton our pants because our belly's got to full! HA. 3/8/2020 Came in to order with friends and ordered what I normally do. That would be the gluten-free chicken tenders and fries and I ordered it for both me and my daughter. Someone brought out the food and said here are your fish and chips and I explained that that's not what I ordered. They also hadn't even made my daughters food yet. I got attitude not from the waitress but from the manager so I was extremely disappointed. So it turned into 30 minutes of originally waiting for our food then turned into over an hour. I just told them to cancel our order and that we would never be back. Super disappointed!! Chris and Chauncey the bartenders........They are amazing!!!! I received so many great reviews about this establishment only to be very disappointment. I have never ever in my life have ever been racially profiled or stereotyped as the angry black women. Myself and 5 others visited this restaurant on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. When myself and the birthday girl arrived the first waiter rudely stated "he had something to do because we took to long to order and said he would give us to another waiter. That was fine, once we go the second waiter he approached me and my sister very polite and happy but once the other guest arrived he rolled his eyes at the only man that was the table because he said "Sir" if you want to be identified as him/she/her/or whatever then say that. Everyone order was messed up, we asked for a manager and she was worse then the waiters. She had already formed her opinion about us before she even asked what happened. Every time we would say anything I mean anything they would say we are yelling oh I feel threaten. Most people do that because they feel privileged because she's white, so like most she played the we are yelling and seem upset to the point she had us escorted out for what reason because we were a group of black people who could afford that meal. We asked for a round of don Julio only for Bartender to approach us with two other managers to see if we could afford $40 dollars for a round of shots. This is the worse atmosphere and restaurant I have ever attended and paid way more for better service. Virginia beach has to be one of the most races Cities in the 757. And I won't stop telling people who visit how Virginia Beach is the biggest races city in the 757. The kill, murder and wrongfully lock people up based on white tears. I'm not a races I'm pissed. I probably would never have experienced this gem if not for a birthday party scheduled there. I'm very glad that I did. Maggie McFly's is a northeastern establishment. The Lynnhaven Mall site is their first restaurant outside Connecticut. Thank you management for locating a store in our town. The entrance faces the parking lot on the east side of the Mall, near the L.L. Bean Store. Parking is plentiful. The outside of the restaurant is quite appealing. It includes outside seating and fire pits. The signage is nicely done and provides a first time diner assistance in easily locating their destination. Step in to an open concept layout. There is ample room in the check-in area for those patrons waiting for a table to not be crowded. The restaurant was clean and well lit, giving me the feeling of a happy place. My attention was immediately drawn to a display of some of their products' sourcing. This was definitely not going to be just a "bar food" establishment. Our party was led to an area that was the perfect size for out group. There was no need for employees to hurriedly push tables together. The restaurant is large and includes well placed televisions where one can watch football games (and more) while dining. The menu is extensive. It is multi page and includes something for absolutely everyone. I had an amazing pot roast dish with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted corn. The pot roast was so plentiful and tasty that I could have dined on that alone. Even now the thought of that tender pot roast tempts me to grab my car keys and head to the restaurant. The "adult drink" choices are equally abundant. I ended up regretting my normal vodka martini after sampling a couple of their specialty drinks. By the way, the martini was the only negative of the night. It had not been shaken in ice to chill. It was room temperature, tasting straight out of the bottle. The server had no problem with the plethora of separate checks. She was pleasant and accommodating. This restaurant is a welcome addition to Virginia Beach. I will return soon. Our son was diagnosed with T1D when he was 9 then this January he was diagnosed with celiac disease since then it has been hard to find anywhere we can go out to eat at. It took 10 minutes after being seated before a woman who wasn't our waitress came and asked what we wanted to drink. Some time goes by give or take 20 minutes. My fiancé and I had both finished our drinks and were waiting for our waitress. The tables around us had waitresses serving them except for ours. Finally our waitress came and didn't give us her name. Turns out she was the same lady that was waiting on the table next to us, but never came to our table since we sat down 30 minutes ago. Time goes by then she takes our order. She comes back 10 minutes later to tell us what my fiancé ordered they were all out of. My fiancé went to the bathroom and came back to tell me that the bathrooms were filthy which it made it seem like the entire restaurant was dirty. 10 minutes later my fiancé's food(served by someone who isn't our waitress) comes out but not my food. Another 20 minutes goes by and our waitress comes back to tell me that my order was never put in. Not even 2 minutes later some other person drops off my food which is cold, the Mac and cheese burger I ordered was tasteless and my fries were cold. My fiancé also didn't like her meal either. All in all with waiting for our food, our waitress and our bill, we got there when the sun was up, probably around 3:30pm and we didn't leave till 5:10pm. The plastic back they gave us for our left overs, had some sort of dried sauce splattered on it. Terrible first time experience for me. Willing to give it another chance, but probably not. The inside was clean, and I adored the chalkboard that boasted of their local support as well as the page in the menu that shows various Virginia businesses. Our server was too on top of things and made me feel awkward at times. She was just soo on top of her game while I wanted to catch up with a friend. I went ahead and ordered the mac and cheese balls that came 4 to an order as I waited for my friend to arrive. As soon as the appetizer arrived, my friend did too... as well as the server already asking us what we want to order. Another awkward moment as we told her we weren't ready about... 6-8 times that night. It wasn't busy, so I can see why our waitress kept making sure we were okay or ready to order. Subpar food and unenthusiastic and undertrained staff. We waited 10 mins to be greeted by a hostess. During that time I went to the bar to see if I could get the bartenders attention. He seemed to be the only one showing some hustle. Meanwhile, 3-4 salty female servers watched me and did nothing. When the hostess finally arrived, she escorted us to our table by bringing us around the back of the bar, right through the service well. We stepped over their bar mats and had to shimmy around the servers. The same group of unfriendly female servers that offered no assistance when we entered stared us down as we passed and whispered "What the f*ck is she doing??!" (referring to the hostess). We got to our table and it was dirty. The hostess wiped it down with a small pack of antibacterial wipes (the kind you would buy from Target to stick in your purse). We ordered 2 large specialty salads and a kids chicken tenders. The broccolini that came with the tenders was sooooo mushyyyy it was disgusting. Our son loves broccolini and he wouldn't touch it. My Crunchy Buffalo Chicken Salad arrived without fried onions or blue cheese. My husbands shrimp salad also arrived without fried onions. When we informed the server, she mentioned the kitchen was out of fried onions. I understand there is a massive inventory shortage right now, but that would've been nice to know at the time we placed the order. She did end up bringing me a plastic container of blue cheese. All in all this place is not worth the $$$. Our salads were like $16-$17 each and that is not the quality we received. On our way out, the group of female servers had gravitated to the hostess stand. We walked right past them and said "Have a good one"... none of them responded. They just continued complaining to one another about how there were several dessert menu items out of stock. I started off with a Stella and ordered the orange chicken lunch. My wife ordered the shrimp lunch special. Both meals were delish. After lunch we shared a spice cupcake, with buttercream icing and pumpkin on top. Maria took great care of us. I glad this restaurant was able to stay open. Took some pictures. You should really come up with a menu of things that you actually have instead of making your customers go through the back and forth of things you're out of with your wait staff. We've been in pandemic shortages long enough for you to know what you don't have and to plan accordingly with your menu. Alright, my last review said that the service was slow and the customer service was friendly. This previous Sunday, it was the complete opposite. We sat at the bar again. It was 4:15PM on Sunday. There was only one person running the bar, it was not busy, and it took forever for the her to look at us, we saw her holding a bunch of receipts in front of the kiosk, looking as if she was calculating tips or something. I saw a man that worked there that looked like the manager(had different color uniform) and I just stared and made eye contact with him so that we could get some sort of service. He saw that the bartender was too busy with her receipts and got her attention to at least serve the other couple who sat down around the same time we did. The whole entire time, she didn't seem like she cared to be there. We just wanted a quick bite and a beer so we got the crap puffs again and tried the onion rings. For beer, we got a can of Smartmouth's Notch Nine in a glass. The onion rings were yummy and the breading wasn't too crispy and didn't fall off the ring either. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes and that was probably the best part of our experience. From the initial look and food prices, I thought my wife and I were going to have a very good experience. That was not the case First, I was shocked and very disappointed at the cleanliness of the bathroom. There was no soap in the dispensers; and the toilet didn't seem to work properly. There was also a very strong "sewer" smell. I reported the dirty bathroom to our server. He later informed me that he refilled the soap and the toilet handle on the toilet I used just needed to be pressed harder. I understand that with COVID protocols many restaurants are doing the best they can to keep everything running smoothly, but the uncleanliness of this bathroom made me feel like I was at a truck stop and not an upscale restaurant. Secondly, the taste of the food we ordered verses how much we paid for it was incomparable. I ordered the Cobb salad with chicken, which was not memorable at all. My wife ordered the French onion soup, which she said just tasted like a jus sauce with a couple of onions thrown into it. We had planned on ordering dessert and enjoying our night out together, but all we wanted to do was pay the bill and leave as soon as possible. Their menu is huge, similar to cheesecake factory. It's a bit overwhelming. I would much rather prefer a smaller more intimate menu, so they can focus on the quality of the food. I ordered the porterhouse with potatoes. It was way overpriced for what I got. Ran me over $32 for what appeared to be a 10oz. The taste was bland and it was overcooked and dry. So I decided to throw my boyfriend a surprise birthday dinner and this seemed like a nice spot to try since I've heard great things. The woman on the phone said that she could write down my name though and we would be seated first if there was a line since we called ahead. So essentially it's like a reservation but they don't call it that haha. So once we arrived I was totally impressed by the size of this place; its massive! We were taken to a private back room in which they had already set the tables next to each other for our big group. Just like everyone else has said, the menu is literally a novel. I don't know how they can afford to offer so many types of dishes but that's part of what made this place great! There was literally something for everyone and I appreciate that they use locally harvested ingredients. So after fishing through the endless menu I decided on getting their street tacos entree which came with 3 tacos of your choice with rice and a quinoa salad. I chose the chicken, fish, and fried avocado but they also offer lobster tacos which I definitely want to try next time! So about ten of us ordered while another 4 flowed in afterwards but honestly our ten entrees came out in 20 minutes tops and they all came out fresh! I was super impressed with all of the tacos, but I was most impressed with the chicken tacos! They also give out free garlic bread sticks for the table to share and they were good, but could use more garlic. Got to check out Maggie McFly's with my little bro during happy hour! First off, the the decor and atmosphere have a really nice rustic aviation look. Plenty of TVs so you can definitely watch the game here! Our bar tender was super friendly and let us taste a few of the beers on draft which helped us narrow down the vast selection to the ones we wanted! Happy hour appetizers are only $4! Which was an absolute God send. Definitely would recommend getting the nachos as they're a solid portion and our bartender even said you can add protein for $1 more! As you can see I selected a 5-star rating. This is due to the fact that I'm an amateur ice skater and Mrs. McFlys has been kind enough to let me train in their facilities in my attempt to become a professional ice skater. I can always count on the floors to be slippery to a point or looney toons chaos. On most occasions I can complete a triple axle on my way to the bathroom. 10/10 would recommend to the Norfolk Admirals as a practice facility. read more

I think this place is so cool. It wasn't overly done in aviation decor. Renaissance Man's heart is in Naval Aviation so he pointed out the airplane wing overhead and the jet intakes mirrors. I love the fact that they support local source food. Yes, we are members of the Buy Fresh, Buy Local, Hampton Roads Chapter. The menu reads like a food magazine. Great marketing idea to see where the food comes from and who the people are that make the master recipes. Jon was THE BEST SERVER! He was funny, his knowledge of the menu was very impressive and of course Renaissance Man had to ask a million questions about the draft beer selection and he was right on point with it. We dine out every weekend and Jon is the Man!!! Great service piece. I couldn't make up my mind so I thought I would order the Farm to Table Burger with Fries. The French Fries were perfect!!!! It was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Did not pick up any flavors from other foods that are usually cooked with the fries. I could have ate a whole plate of the Fries. The Burger was yummy. I would have added some salt and pepper to the burger while grilling it but that is the chef inside me. The sandwich was perfectly balanced. The lettuce, onion, pickle , bacon and cheese (asked them to leave off the tomato, not in season) I usually get really bored eating a burger and do not finish it but I ate the whole thing. The Renaissance Man ordered the Chicken bowl. It was full of vegetables, chicken and rice. . The chicken was local. The knife skills on the vegetables were awesome! Great job on the kitchen staff. He let me try a bite or two and it was very flavorful. The next time I think I will bring the Renaissance Man's second cousins. There are four of them, all under 10, some pizzas to share and for dessert "The Titanic" and then take them home to their parents. I will be so popular with the kids. read more

i came here with my boyfriend one day during their happy hour. we opted to sit at the bar and grab a few apps during their special. They were $4 so we opted for the fried mac n cheese balls and the wings. the mac n cheese reminded me of the ones from cheesecake factory -- but it was missing something. it wasn't as good as the ones from cheesecake factory so i was a little disappointed - but it was still okay. the wings were actually super good! i mean... wings are wings... but i was still a happy camper. then we got the chicken with lemon sauce as our entree and that was pretty good! we split that and it was more than enough food for the two of us. we even took some to-go. the reason why i'm giving this place a 3 stars instead of 4 is because the service was lacking. we had to remind out bartender for another water and silverware. then the check and our to-go box without the to-go bag. she wasn't totally neglectful, but with barely anyone sitting at the bar, i expected better service. i did see her a few times go to the side to talk to a few of her coworkers so i just felt like she was distracted. i might be back if i'm shopping at the mall, but not a place i'd crave for or go out of my way to have dinner. read more
