My wife and I stopped here after a leisurely weekend drive from Alexandria, VA. The place seemed familiar although I hadn't been there in ages. We both loved the atmosphere as we sat at the bar, and Emma made us feel like regulars immediately. Holly (or is it Amanda??) was also great. We had some fairly basic bar snacks: potato skins, jalapeño poppers, and short rib nachos. All were excellent, well prepared and seasoned and good portions. We'll explore the menu further the next time we are there. Excellent craft beers and wine selection. Whiskey pricing is very favorable with a wide selection of bourbons, Scotches, and Irish whiskeys at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be back. Thanks for such a great experience. read more

We have heard about the great brunch here, but we decided to try Maggie's for dinner tonight. It wasn't very crowded on this Monday night, and my husband and I were seated right away. After a few minutes, the hostess politely let us know that they were short-staffed and our server had two large tables, so it would be a bit of a wait. We declined ordering drinks from the bar and chatted over the bottle of water they provided. It wasn't more than 5 minutes before our server took our orders. My (Rustic) salmon was seasoned perfectly over a buttery and flavorful cassoulet of spinach, carrots, tomatoes, pearl onions, and white beans while my husband enjoyed a burger and fries. While he liked the burger, he said his fries were a little mushy and maybe were sitting around for a while. Overall, we had a great Monday dinner out with no mess at home, no crowds, and we both had good meals. We want to return and try the legendary brunch we've heard so much about! read more

I moved to Westminster and after moving in to my place my friends and I were looking for a bar with good food. Fortunately we love a good Irish Pub and Maggies is about a mile from my new place. We ate in the bar and not the restaurant area. The bar was an eclectic and cozy Irish bar that looked like all of the Pubs I have been to in Ireland. Very nice. I ordered 10 oz crab cake, my friend got the fish and chips and we split a pretzel with beer cheese an had a couple pints of Guinness. The Guinness was poured perfectly and was fresh tasting, the pretzel was huge and delicious! Beer cheese was on point. The crab cake was full of lump meat and not a lot of filler, fries were crispy hot and delicious. My friends fish and chips may have been the best I have had. It was crisp, with flaky fish that was firm and perfectly cooked. Hunter was behind the bar and he was on the ball with bringing new drinks with an outstanding pour every time. Wonderful and welcoming renovations and service today at Maggie's for our group of 6. Super server Rachel recommended the fish and chips-4 of us ordered and all agreed they were the best ever tasted. We got lucky! We found Maggie's searching for lunch on a road trip. Burgers were on special that day, including the scrumptious crab cake burger. It was cooked perfectly, and served with a 2.5 ounce pile of freshly picked Maryland Blue Crab on top. My son's fries were outstanding, double fried, not just an afterthought. And the side of crispy Brussels was superb, with some sort of sweet, fruity glaze drizzled over the top. Service was excellent, speedy and efficient. Highly recommend!!! read more

We were very disappointed with the quality of the food vs. the description on their menu. We ordered 2 apps and both were poor. Sautéed shallots with mushroom caps. The Parmesan cheese was so faint, why bother. And the mushrooms were swimming in butter. The waitress did take them off our bill. Lettuce wraps, not. The chicken had good flavor but it was just chunks, not julienne strips as the menu said. Romaine is not lettuce. But, the worst by far was the Moroccan Curried Vegs over rice. Meatless-yeah! Flavorless dried out old food with one color: brown. The price is high and the taste is low. And, yes, it was noisy. Will not return. read more

I have been wanting to try this place and stopped for lunch. It was a bit on the expensive side and lunch for two was $49. I tried the signature crab cake and it was very good, but it had to be the smallest of crab cakes that I have had at a $17.99 price. The fried pickles were outstanding. All in all a great lunch with a great server. Only gave three stars because the price was too high for lunch, but the food was definitely 4 and service 5. read more

April 2024 stopped in on a Saturday night. Crowded, but no wait. As usual service good and meal comes out quickly. Unfortunately, one of the worst meals ever. Chicken piccata and Marsala terrible. After a long Saturday and finishing some errands in Westminster we opted to stop in for a late dinner where we sat in the bar area and had a nice table by the window. Service was a bit slow as it took the waitress a while to get to us probably due to a large party that was also sitting in the bar area. It was nice to learn that on Saturdays they have 1/2 price wine bottles with the purchase of an entree so we ordered a bottle although even at half price you are still paying more than retail. The food portions were generous and the food was good although it could have been more flavorful. The ample size bar did get noisier as the night went on but it appears to be a great place to watch a game or catch up with friends. One tip, is to review your check for accuracy as we were being charged full price for the wine until we pointed it out. read more

I've celebrated sale of my home, birthday, anniversary at Maggie's. The food is always good, service is decent, and the place is always clean. In most cases the staff are friendly and welcoming, I had one unpleasant experience with a waiter but it was addressed and I'm okay with visiting again. I usually go to a restaurant to connect with the community and to enjoy good food and good service. Maggie's serves this purpose to me. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

My husband reserved a table at 4pm, we got there at 3:50 and were sat immediately. The waitress came over after a few minutes with menus,. We ordered drinks then we ordered food. We ordered crab dip, which was good just not enough bread. We also ordered the pickle chips which were okay, just not very many for the price. Then we ordered our entrees, three burgers, one salmon and the chicken sandwich. The restaurant was starting to fill up at this point. Then the tables that arrived after us were being served their food and ultimately leaving (before we even got our food mind you). Then we sat with empty drinks after asking for refills. Finally at 5:30, we asked to speak with a manager who never came until we flagged a man down who was the manager. We explained our situation that had transpired over the previous hour and a half. We offered to pay for our drinks and appetizers and leave. He apologized and offered for us to take the food, but we declined. He said next time we come back to ask to speak to a manager, which we said we will not be back and left. We were not looking to make a scene in the restaurant, we were very patient and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but the restaurant failed. read more

Love every detail of the interior and the patio! It is so chic and cozy at the same time. We sat on the patio and they have fans and it's nice a shaded. This place seriously has the best French Onion Soup. I would've taken a picture of it, but the soup didn't stand a chance once it hit my table. The rest of my meal was equally delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised at the number of precautions Maggie's is taking due to Covid. They have an outdoor seating area, everyone is wearing masks, and they had a hand sanitizer station set up outside. Definitely check this place out. read more

Met friends for dinner last night. Got there early had a very nice glass of wine and sat in the quiet dining room area. Our server was amazing and quite comical. Took great care of us. Super friendly and extremely attentive. The manager came to our table several times to check on us. The food was mediocre. I ordered the half and half crab soup. It was horrible. No crab or veggies. It basically was just runny broth with spices. The crab cake was okay I've definitely had better elsewhere and not worth $19.99! The broccoli was cold and bland. I was really disappointed. So much potential! First the good: Filet Mignon was cooked medium rare perfectly, grilled salmon was also cooked perfectly. Crab dip was great. Chocolate Mousse dessert was great. My Old Fashioned was good too (better on the second glass, first glass was closer to a bourbon on the rocks). And the ambience of the restaurant is perfect. The interior designer knew what they were doing. The bad (or needs improvement): crab dip says it is served with "garlic toast" but what we got was a toasted loaf of bread with no discernible garlic. The "roasted beet" salad had crunchy, pickled beets (not roasted) and was sparingly dressed, almost to the point of not being dressed. The side of broccoli with the filet mignon was flavorless and inedible. The Sex on the Beach my wife got was made with some kind of pineapple juice or pineapple liquor, which isn't a Sex on the Beach. But worst offense was the chocolate chip cheesecake, which had lumps of cream cheese still in it. First time I have ever NOT finished a cheese cake. Also, we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary to the waitress, and usually that means something special, like writing Happy Anniversary in caramel on the plated dessert, but no such luck. Granted they were slammed and I know it's hard to find good help right now. But then when we left there was a strong odor of trash or discarded seafood shells in the lobby. At first we thought it was coming from outside, but outside smelled fine. I'm giving an extra 1-2 stars for the potential, and I hope management fixes these problems, because Maggie's could be Westminster's BEST restaurant otherwise. read more

It's a shame because this restaurant is right down the street it looks very cute on the outside but really it's just a glorified pub with food. I find their prices to be a little high my wife and I got chicken wings she got a french onion soup a baked potato and chicken fingers and our bill was $50 some dollars and I feel that's very expensive with what we got in the quality of food we got. The other incidents to why we won't go back and this is the main one we were calling to do takeout because at one point they delivered and we called and they weren't delivering but we could do pick up so we said okay we'll do the pickup way after we place our order we pay with the credit card over the phone so we can pick up our order the person cuz you want to add in tip and I asked for what well we think you should tip you know 20% and I said I'm not tipping you 20% unless you're offering me a service are you going to bring the food out to my car or going to bring the food to my house both of the answers were no then I'm not going to tip you and the person seem to get really mad on the phone and the crab cakes that we got I had to end up taking back because he took one crab cake and they cut it in half and said it was two and I got like two 2oz crab cakes and not 2 4oz crab cakes . read more

Very very limited menu! Service s absolutely horrendous and slow, god forbid they were busy. We fig we would give it a try after reopening and will not recommend the one page menu. The Long Island drink had chicken floating in it, the waitress took it back the bartender argued it was tomato from the bloody mary that I had, moms drink was a Long Island- which doesn't have tomatoes in it! It took 15 mins for a waitress to acknowledge us and it was only us and a couple tables. You get 6 baguette slices for a thing of crab dip....and if you ask for 6 more there is a $3.00 charge- like that's enough bread for a skillet of dip for 3 people. Entrees are redic and there was maybe 4 of them listed-that was the "dinner" menus, for close to $30 with no sides everything is separately added.
