Mike runs his own business so he does everything himself. I love supporting small businesses. I had a long beige sectional to clean and another sofa right before Christmas. It got wet more than expected so have extra towels handy. Allow a little longer to dry. I have used Peace Frog before but their prices went really high even for Westlake and started having the commercial business feel-you know what I mean. So I was really happy with the end result on my sofa. Mike adjusted his schedule for me and so when he had a gallbladder emergency the night before. He still showed up for work the next day, and did a fabulous job! There were some stubborn stains and he re-cleaned them over and over until it was gone. My carpet is quite old and is slated to be replaced in the next few months, but I just had to clean them one last time, so I bought a deal thru Morgan's Deals. I have probably used every carpet cleaner in Austin, (feels like it anyways), and let me just say that Mike is AWESOME!!!!!!!! Mike, the owner, came with another guy, also called Mike. They were very professional and worked hard despite the heat. We hired them for carpet cleaning as well as tile and grout cleaning. Mike explained the process as they went through each task. He also showed us what products he used. The machines they used were definitely what pros used to do quality work and were hooked up to their van. I had estimated the wrong surface of tile for the initial quote over the phone. They charged me much less because the area was actually smaller than I thought. That was very honest of them. The overall price was lower than other 5 star rated places. Called two weeks ago to set up appointment and all was set for a small carpet cleaning before Thanksgiving company arrived. Well today he didn't show up after we moved all our furniture and had plans for our 3 & 2 year olds to be busy all day. Well, apparently Mike scheduled our appointment for next Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Really? Who gets their carpets cleaned after their company leaves!! We are in a huge bind now and have nobody to do it because Mike got it wrong. If you have kids you would understand our huge dilemma about drying time. We've called ALL over town and nobody can do it in our time frame now. Mike really screwed us up and I would NOT recommend this company for your carpet needs! I called Magic Carpet Care after reading a number of reviews here on Yelp. I saw the bad review, and after reading it, decided to ignore it. Smart move. Mike just left after finishing a cleaning job here at my home. Mike did a very nice job, the carpet looks great. He had no problems with the few surprise extras I did not mention on the phone, essentially done at the quoted price. Which is quite a bit less than other companies I have used over the last 20 or so years here. Mike, who is owner, is deceiving and unprofessional. He came to give an estimate for carpet cleaning and tiles & grout, but was manipulating the measurements. When we pointed to him that he was overcounting the tiles, he got defensive about it. Two minutes later, Mike made an excuse that he was going out of the house to take a phone call, while the other person stayed in the house. A couple of minutes later, the second guy also walked out of the house and both Mike and the other guy got in the van and took off. I am actually concerned if they grabbed something from our house and simply took off. He didn't even tell us that they are leaving, so I am suspicious about their activity. I think they were expecting my wife to be at home, but were caught offguard to find me at home. Bottom line, these guys are sketchy at best. Based on our experience, we recommend everybody to avoid this company at all cost. read more
