Had lunch here today with husband and granddaughter. The food was great except, my husband had a big black hairy spider crawl out of his salad! When he asked the server about it she just said "well we have organic food here and we may not get all the bugs out". I think a spider or other bug should be able to be washed out if done properly. What a hidden gem! Our family stopped in for brunch on Christmas Eve and we were so happy! I had the corned beef hash, which was HUGE, and three of the other diners had pancakes and waffles and they were very pleased. I liked nearly everything about Magic City's Remarkable Diner. The service was friendly, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was bright and modern. They serve breakfast all day, so I opted to just choose a few different breakfast items from the a la carte menu. After we ordered, the only bad part of the meal began... we waited, and waited and waited some more. It felt like we were there for an eternity! However, when the food did arrive we forgot all about the wait as our focus shifted to the delicious meal that had been delivered. I've traveled around the country quite a bit, and this diner serves some of the best breakfast food I've gotten anywhere. I ordered two Pieces of French toast, some grits and some breakfast potatoes. The choice of bread for the French toast was perfect for my liking. it wasn't to thick, but it still held up. I was super impressed with the texture and portion size of the grits. They give you far more than most restaurants would. The breakfast potatoes were interesting... not bad, but definitely not what I was expecting. I'm not even sure how exactly they cut them since they weren't really in any identifiable shape. the flavor wasn't bad, but they were a little soggy for my liking. For the most part, the service was nice. Our server was friendly, and they checked on us just enough. The only problem we had was once it came time to pay. We asked the server if we should pay them or take it to the front. They gave us a cryptic answer about taking cash to the front or paying them with card, but paying them either way. We assumed that meant to just pay them, so we sat waiting for a while until deciding to just go to the front. that may have been our fault for not understanding, but I'm not generally confused easily. Overall, i enjoyed my experience at the remarkable diner, and I will probably return if I find myself in the area again. read more

One of our favorite places to go for breakfast and lunch. Really good quality food prepared with care and skill. The pancakes and french toast are favorites. The beef bacon is a must have each time we visit even if we order a meal without it, we order it on the side. I have tried a lot of different items in the menu and have not found one that I would not order again. The people though are the biggest plus to this location. Ok so I found this place one Sunday morning when it seemed everything would be packed and we wanted a new diner... it really doesn't look like much when you pull in, but the food and staff are amazing! Been three times and I always go for a special! Only complaint- they run out of milkshakes early in the day... every time on sundays lol. Even packed never waited over five minutes to sit. (Sunday brunch if I'm off work is a family tradition in my house now). Well made fresh food and awesome attentive staff just make this place stand out! DEFINITELY recommend!!! read more

This incredible diner is what I call a Hidden Gem. My wife and I were leaving Barberton hospital after a doctors appointment and we were both hungry and I put in my GPS breakfast places and thank god my GPS brought me here. Everything from the cozy ambiance and the smiling genuine host Jenna who also happened to be our server was impressive. The best BLT and by far the best Blueberry Pancakes we ever had. So disappointed today. I took a friend to brunch at Remarkable because she often picks me up at the Cleveland airport. I was raving all the way there. She ordered the tacos and that's all she got, 3 SMALL tacos, nothing else on the plate, looked very sparse, not even a side of sour cream. I got the cheese omelet. It was very flat, no fluff at all, and so greasy I had to blot it with my napkin. I assumed it came with toast, no. There were hash browns which were just chunks of brown potatoes and most were hard. Later the server said I could have asked for toast instead of the potatoes. Too late. Cost $18 but worth not even half of that. I won't return. sad because it has always been so good before. read more

We had a great breakfast here this morning. The atmosphere is informal, friendly, and very comfortable. My husband commented that the veggies in his omelette were cooked perfectly! They also have a great underground menu that includes lamb chops, Boursin cheese omelette and others. Don't be shocked by the color scheme.....it's in Barberton so there's lots of purple! read more

I went with my husband for breakfast on a Monday morning, I want to start by saying that I had high hopes. The inside was decorated very cute and it appeared like they would put great care into the meal. I was wrong. I ordered the smoked salmon omelette. It tasted off/unfresh, and I eat smoked salmon several times a week. Usually I put it on avocado toast, but they cooked it inside of the omelette and it was slimy. The entire omelette tasted of soured fish. My husband ordered a regular breakfast with French toast, eggs, and sausage. While nothing terrible happened to him, he did say that the French toast was soggy and seemed not cooked thoroughly. We love a good chili and we saw that they make a homemade chili. We asked the server if the chili was spicy or sweet. She said neither And that her grandma could eat it. It's definitely a sweet chili, and it seemed to have the texture of paste. And just in case anyone is curious about their gravy for biscuit and gravy, they allowed us to sample it after telling us it was "army style". It is literally hamburger meat, flour, and milk with no seasoning. It's bland. It seems like they have a vision and they are trying, but they just don't know how to execute it. We were looking for a breakfast spot that wasn't a chain and found this gem. It had 4.5 stars and lived up to its rating. They were doing a special, Christmas in July and made a snowman pancake for my younger son- unfortunately I didn't get a picture. But I did get a picture of my Mexi omelet and my other sons short stack. The chicken chorizo had a nice spice to it and was filled with sautéed vegetables with a side of fresh cut home fries. The pancakes were huge and fluffy and the bacon was thickly sliced. If you are looking for a great breakfast spot, this is your place. read more

The new owners kept a lot of the previous menu items but make it with their own plus many other new yummy items. Your coffee is served in adorable mugs that often match the season. Well today was another one of those days so I took my girlfriend who had been wanting to try! Walk in the door and you immediately hear the staff say Hi. Come on in. The food was amazing and Remarkable . Our waitress was a gem. Our coffee cups were never empty. My friend and expressed to each other we needed to write a review. Excellent little Diner. The food, atmosphere and prices are great. I went on three different occasions and had a great experience all 3 times. The Chef that runs it is outstanding, and has retained the previous menu while implementing slow changes. While I'm sure there will be hiccups like what a previous reviewer experienced, I think most people will find this little place a refreshing bright spot in Barberton, Ohio. So take a drive out to this Diner, park in a booth and try the Chicken and Waffles with a shot of Espresso. I think you will leave with a smile. read more
