Let me tell you how much I absolutely LOVED my Ann Karen Day Spa visit…read more I arrived at noon time, and there were NO clients at that particular moment. I had the whole place to myself! So naturally, I felt like a VIP. I took a nice, warm shower in the super-clean shower stalls. Afterwards, I soaked in the hot tub for about 10-15 minutes, as I was accompanied -- the whole entire time -- by a lovely woman who "was assigned to me" to make sure my entire stay was extraordinary. (By the way, my attendant regularly served me cups of tea. . . talk about personalized client service!) So, from the in-floor hot tub, I went into the steam sauna; I could've chosen to walk into the dry sauna, but I just didn't feel like it. Once again, I had the whole sauna room to myself! I loved that! Then, I was directed to go to the Quiet Room to relax and meditate for 15-20 minutes before my full-body scrub (which included a deep soak in a wooden tub), and full-body massage. I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME. I stayed for a little over three hours!!! Ann Karen Day Spa was simply a beautiful place. It was tastefully decorated. Every attendant was so friendly. And even though I communicated in English, and they communicated back in Chinese, we didn't have any major difficulties with the language barrier. I would DEFINITELY go back here. This is now my new favorite place to spend a day in a spa. Why would I go anywhere else?! 10 out of 10

The Himalayan salt room is the only shared area. The interior is well maintained, although it feels a bit outdated. the cleaning staff was attentive and kept the spa clean. I arrived 45 minutes before my massage so I could use the Himalayan salt room and sauna, and take a shower before my 60-minute massage. Overall, my experience was good. They charge $50 for a day pass. I would love to go back and use the spa again sometime in the future.

The reasons why I want to update my review: Very relaxing atmosphere -- the center area isn't overly loud. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The skincare products they use feel nicer/better quality than what I've experienced at other spas. I also really appreciate that this is a 12+ facility, so there aren't small children running around. At some other spas, kids can be loud and make it harder to fully relax. Here, the atmosphere is much more peaceful, which makes a big difference when you're coming to relax

3.5 stars. Main…read morereason I wanted to try this place is because it's advertised that it doesn't get too crowded, but that's definitely not true during a Saturday afternoon. It's not crowded per se, but all the amenities are occupied - chairs taken, floor mats taken, etc. So, sure, it's not "crowded" but you can't really do anything in the co-ed area either. They also seemed to ration the towels, so you couldn't go into the spa multiple times unless you wanted to re-use your wet towels. Not really trying to do mental math on towel usage when I'm just trying to enjoy my life. The food was not it either. Solidly, 2 out of 5 stars. Not a lot of options. Ended up ordering two cold noodles. It wasn't very cold, and I could not chew thru the noodles at all and relied on swallowing them whole!? Last thing - I feel like the culture is different. Other korean spas I've been to really focus on the peace and quiet, and I understand there's always going to be yappers at whichever spa you go to. But, here, it seemed everyone disregarded the rule, viewing them just as general guidelines. Everyone was still quiet-ish but definitely making more noise than I've experienced at other places. Multiple people straight watching videos on their phones without earphones. The amenities are all there but just something not aligned here. If you're trying to relax a little bit, come during non-peak hours. Just know there are better options out there.

worst massage in town. no lie…read more at least for my experience. i brought my girlfriend here for a couple massage for her birthday. 90 minute couples massage. first five minutes was mild at best. we had to ask them to massage with a little bit more effort. shortly after it was pure sharp elbows, digging into our backs from the weight of their bodies, which overhang above. they use gravity and their elbows in an effort to avoid actually expanding effort or using their muscles at all. i don't know about you, but that's not a massage to me. shortly after i looked over to my side to notice that the man that was massaging, my girlfriend was sitting down on the bed lightly massaging her upper back with no more than a few fingers contact. there was no effort or work there. just sitting lounging doing the absolute minimum contact possible. this was almost the same for me however, my masseuse, also using only one hand, would pause for many seconds at a time before exerting some pressure then again another break of many seconds before pressure again. she was systematically conserving energy and then applying the minimum level of pressure from one hand only. after a couple warnings, she finally started to get that. i am not gonna leave us alone and she started massaging more correctly. then excuse the man who was pretending to massage my girlfriend and replaced him with a woman that was massaging me. then they sent one man to massage me who was lazy and barely doing anything so let him go when they sent him them yet. another one who is doing the same thing. at about 45 minutes i finally told him to leave me alone and just continue with my girlfriend. i don't know how it's possible that others aren't reporting this more often, but i cannot speak on what i do not know but what i do know is if you are sore, tired, and just looking for some muscle, relief and relaxation and you expect some discernible level of quality and effort than do not come here. these people do not care at all about giving you a good experience and i gave them multiple chances they are lazy and do not care about their customers at least not for my girlfriend and i if you doubt me at all, please read my other reviews. i'm very honest in my reviews and i take great care to be fair. and i write these to help others. it certainly doesn't provide me any benefit other than that. thank you for reading and feel free to contact me if you'd like more information

Did you know there was a Korean spa in Pasadena?? I didn't…read moreknow! So when my fiancé told me he booked us plus his dad a 2 hour spa in Pasadena I was pleasantly surprised that there was more to this than just a massage! Located on a main street with parking in the back - not much spaces and you have to be careful where you park because other spots are for other businesses. But once we found our spot, we went in and from the outside it looked small, narrow, and tall. But once we walked in it looked so different than it did from the outside! It was nice and dimly lit. There's a waiting room in the lobby as you wait your turn, cause get this - it's a PRIVATE session with us you and your party! They book sessions where you pretty much have this whole section to yourself without sharing with strangers. They let me in the dressing room first as two other women were still wrapping up their session. So my fiancé and his dad waited in the lobby until they were ready to let them in. They led me into the changing room that has a bunch of lockers, big mirrors, hair dryers, and bags for your wet swim suits to put in after! There's also 1 connecting bathroom to the changing room. Once I changed they led into the back room where the hot tub, cold plunge, and steam room was located. WOW. It looked so nice! Plus I was the only one there so I got to enjoy it by myself for a good couple of minutes! They told me that the other 2 ladies were wrapping up and once they left my fiancé and his dad could join me. They told me where to rinse off and let me just enjoy myself, and it was nice. The hot tub was nice and bubbly and the cold plunge was a nice escape from the heat. The steam room was nice but I couldn't last in there for too long. Our appointment time was 2pm but my fiancé and his dad couldn't get in till 2:10 and due to the 2 ladies that asked for a little more time to do a cold plunge and they let them rather than telling them that there was another party waiting. Once they finally left my group was able to come in and enjoy but they didn't get to enjoy these extra services long enough, maybe just 10 mins? Before we were told it was time for us to start our massages. They went to another room for a massage while I stayed in the wet room for my body scrub, I had to remove my swim suit so they can properly scrub me and UGH. They scrubbed me like they scrubbed away my sins! It felt so good and when they asked me to flip over I nearly slipped with how smooth I was! My masseuse/scrubber was an older women but she knew what she was doing! I had the body scrub, cucumber facial, body massage, and a hair wash/massage! It felt pretty worth it for me! After I was done they led me to the dry room to sit in the heated salt room and clay room. This was where I got to meet up with my group again and eh these rooms where just okay to me. You lay in there in a warm room with salt or clay balls around you. I got to chat with my fiancé and it seemed that there session was okay and he was quite jealous of what I got and wished he chose that too. After we were in the dry rooms for a bit we went back down to soak some more but they cut us out right on the dot at 4 and it was a bit of a bummer because my fiancé and his dad had much shorter times because of the 2 ladies before us. For me, my session was great but had to knock a star because my fiancé and his dad didn't have that great of a session and had their time cut short but still enjoyed it. Pros: You get the whole spa room to yourself but need to have a party of 2 or more Cons: If another group before you is late, they cut into your time and don't give you extra time to make up your full paid session

I learned so much from her about my skin and about skin care!! - I found her work to be so relaxing that I legit fell asleep 3 times while she was massaging my face. The hydra moisture facial involves a head or shoulder massage I chose head, and she does a lot of facial massage too when placing the products used for the facial that was super relaxing. Katie did my SO's face and he did hydra moisture facial too and she got rid of nearly all his Black heads and white heads that I found to be very intense. I booked a Regenerative Anti Aging Facial 80 minute session priced at $390 with Lety. When I arrived, the entrance was modern with their skincare products laid out for sale on the side walls. The receptionist took my information, she walked me inside to give me a tour of the facilities. Everything was clean and spotless! She showed me the restroom, makeup area, and shower area which consisted of products such as makeup remover, q tips, cleanser, curling iron, flat iron, brush, combs, hair gel, hair spray, hair mist, etc. Everything I needed, they had. There was a jacuzzi, which was very hot, a dry steam room, a wet steam room, and bath tub area as well. I wish they had a cold room to balance out all the hot rooms. There were wet towels with aroma therapy, cucumbers for your eyes, and plenty of body towels everywhere. The facial I had was wonderful! Lety had magic hands! First, she applied different serums onto my face. It felt so relaxing as she massaged all the products on my face. Then she cleaned off all the dead skin. She applied vitamin c and hyaluronic acid on my face before using the derma pen for microneedling. It didn't hurt at all and just felt like sand paper rubbed all over my face. This is supposed to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and hopefully help with sunspots and pores. The next thing she did was use nu face, which is a device for lifting your skin. I'm in my 40s, so I really needed this procedure. This didn't hurt as well. The last item she put on my face was a face mask. It felt cool on my face and by this time, I was so relaxed. The other bonus items that she did was massage my shoulders, arms, legs, and feet, which is part of the package. When I went home, I had a little bit of redness, but not too bad. It is slowly going away. Overall, did I think the price of this facial was worth it. Definitely, but maybe it depends on the esthetician you get. Lety has had many years of experience, she is knowledgable, and she's good at her job. When I come back for another facial, I'm definitely booking with Lety again. One of the best facials I've ever had! I just feel like if you're going to pay a lot for a massage or facial, you want you're experience and time to be worth it.

The place I normally go to is about 30 minutes from me, and I knew I wasn't going to make it there that late. I called a few different places that were open until 9 or 10, but everywhere I called was booked and didn't have anything available until the next morning. Thankfully, Lulu's was my last place to call and they had an opening! They even texted me directions on how to find them since there are so many massage places in that area. They also explained where to look for parking and called me to make sure I found the place okay. I really appreciated that because sometimes finding these places can be a little confusing. When I walked in, the lights were dim, the atmosphere was really welcoming, and I was taken to my room pretty much right away. My massage therapist was Candy, and I HIGHLY recommend her! She literally worked on exactly what I needed and I walked out of there feeling so relaxed. I only did an hour, and honestly I wish I would've booked longer because I didn't want it to end . They also gave me a little rewards card, but I honestly don't even remember all the details because I was so relaxed and in the zone after my massage! The prices are great, the service was great, and I really have nothing but good things to say. I'll definitely be coming back and I can't wait for my next massage! Definitely recommend Lulu's and Candy(hope I got her name correct)!

I quickly found Lulu relax spa and I appreciate Lulu being very communicative when I requested an appointment as it was my first time, however I quickly realized that I should have went with another spot. The massage was very uncomfortable from the get go because I had an older male masseuse that reeked of cigarettes. I do not want to slander the therapist or business but this was a waste of my time and money. On top of that, he kept coughing and burping throughout my time there. I am a male myself and I have high tolerance for things but I left the session feeling really grossed out, with my whole body and clothes dirty and less relaxed than when I stepped inside. He was kind enough but the massage itself was very formulaic and you could tell he was running through the motions for a pay check. I noticed he didn't even bother to repeat the same motions on both sides of my body and overall he was too rough. I appreciate good pressure but it was borderline painful. Overall, I was too uncomfortable to relax and I still tipped 30% but ultimately I would not come back and could not in good conscience recommend anyone coming here. It was even featured in Beef on Netflix, so it already comes with that cinematic, aesthetic atmosphere The moment you walk in, you can feel the difference. The entire spa is designed with natural elements -- crystal chandeliers, wooden walls, and an impressive collection of over 500-year-old antiques. It doesn't feel like a typical commercial spa at all, more like a quiet, curated sanctuary for the mind. They also have separate lounges for men and women, which makes the whole experience feel more private and refined. The essential oils used are from doTERRA -- clean, natural, and not overpowering. I tried their 90-minute "Fresh Ginger & Mugwort Herbal Massage," and the whole treatment follows a very thoughtful, traditional wellness flow: It starts with freshly ground ginger applied to the body to warm you up from within -- you can literally feel the cold leaving your body Then comes hot stone therapy to raise your body temperature and deeply relax your muscles Finally, warm mugwort herbal compresses are used along pressure points, inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, leaving your body feeling light and rebalanced My therapist Tina had a very gentle and soothing technique -- not overly intense, but incredibly effective. The relaxation actually lasted longer, which is perfect if you've been stressed or not sleeping well. And honestly, the resort itself adds so much to the experience There are two 18-hole championship golf courses, plus private one-on-one yoga sessions -- it truly feels like a full-on retreat. The best part? For a resort-level spa like this, the pricing is actually very reasonable -- great value for what you get. In one sentence: This isn't just a massage -- it's a full mind-and-body reset. If you've been feeling drained or just want to escape LA for a bit, this place is absolutely worth saving

He concentrated on all of my problem areas and I felt happy and relaxed afterwards. The quiet room is clean and comfy and I was given a tasty little fruit cup. Now the bad: The price for a massage is reasonable, but you must pay an additional 39.00 if you want a to use their lockers or robe, take a shower or use the jacuzzi. This was unexpected and confusing. Before arriving, I had called for clarification of this policy and was only told that they would charge 39.00 for use of the jacuzzi. I had no idea that I wouldn't be given a robe or allowed to shower without paying the extra fee. I'm in a spa club and I have never run into this issue before. This confusion may have been due to a language barrier. The shower area has a sign saying that you must run the hot water for 10-15 minutes to obtain hot water (!). I did so and still had to take a cold shower because the water never got hot. The only towels available are very small and very thin. They are not large enough to wrap around your body. The jacuzzi area shows deferred maintenance with broken tile, missing robe hooks and mold/mildew on the ceiling between the jacuzzi and the showers (ick). This is a nice facility, but the policies are confusing and it's sadly lacking in general upkeep. (See pics)
