Unbelievably bad experience. Went to Magic Moments to get measured for a bridesmaid dress. You walk in and it's like a time warp - back to the 90s with with bags of tacky dresses. It's so crowded that it's almost difficult to walk through, but i mean, fine... its a dress store, no big deal. The dresses weren't in stock so we pretty much went to get measured for the gown. I get measured by a salesperson who is seriously slow. First she's confused there are two Amanda's in the bridal party and actually crosses out the other Amanda's name when taking my measurements. I had to tell her I'm Amanda P and that was Amanda R. P and R, terribly confusing I know. In life, I am a size 2/4. I get measured and the measurements (bust, waist, hip) are 2, 12, 8, making me the candidate for a size 10. I ask them to measure me again - I get that these dresses run big but a 10 is pretty ridiculous. Especially the fact that my hips are larger than my waist, which is not the case in real life. After asking multiple times, I finally get remeasured and they're adamant that I'm a 10. So, I am stuck paying and hoping I'm a 10. It's time to get our payments processed. Six girls and it took over an hour to do that. They wrote everything by hand, making mistakes with their painfully slow writing. I finally had to ask to write it myself because their method of asking, repeating, writing incorrectly and having me correct it was just insane. Fast forward a few months later and I was right. All of the bridesmaid dresses are HUGE. I can fit another person in my 10. I just called and the woman at the store could find no record of any name - not the bride or any of the bridesmaids. It's not shocking that they lost a yellow slip receipt floating around in their overpacked store but it's disappointing that I can't find a single redeeming aspect of this place. Bottom line: Skip this store - there are plenty other dress stores in Long Island with an actual concept of size, fit, reality and customer service. They probably even have electronic payment methods too. read more

I did not have a very good experience. Overly crowded...I mean WAY overly crowded, dresses packed everywhere to the point that you couldn't possibly get a very good look at any of the dresses. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are beautiful dresses hidden somewhere in there, just wouldn't ever be able to see them. read more

I found Magic Moments by researching on the web for ornate christening gowns. I found the perfect one for my daughter - The "Sabrina" gown (roughly $300 without tax) and it was no disappointment. It was absolutely beautiful and the pictures posted on the site doesn't do the gown justice. The detail of beading and the ivory duponi silk fabric to the dress is waaaay beautiful seeing it in person. OMG - IT IS GORGEOUS! I really like how their staff and customer service were pleasant to work with. They answered my questions and got back to me about a pair of booties that weren't paired up with the dress but went perfectly well with my daughter's gown. The transaction which was made over the phone went smoothly as it also did when the package arrived. The package was in one piece and nothing was smashed or damaged. The shipping and promised time it was to arrived was also smooth. I was very proud to show this off with my daughter in it! On the day of her christening, people complimented how beautiful it was and asked where I bought it. I have yet to preserve this gown and get it framed. It is that stunning and definitely a keepsake!!!! I would definitely purchase another gown from this store again! read more

We had the WORST experience here. We bought our bridesmaids dresses here for my sisters wedding. The ordering was fine, but when we got them in, that is when the disaster began. Our dresses were measured incorrectly. When the seamstress, Ozzie, took our alterations she tried charging almost DOUBLE the dress! There is no cap, which is very uncommon! Then, the alterations took place outside the store in in her home. She had her dog running around, going to the bathroom, while we were in our gowns. She tried charging us more than the agreed price. She tried charging us for work that wasn't done. When we called the store to help with the situation we basically got no where. We got the whole "I feel bad for your situation" but nothing on how to fix it. This has been the WORST experience. After paying $140, my dress is still too long and the strap don't fit properly. If I could give this business no stars I would. I purchased a dress for my daughter for a wedding. I paid rush shipping to have the dress back in time for the wedding. When I called to check the status of the dress because it did not arrive on time. The owner seemed nice she thanked me for my patience and my address arrived two weeks after it should have been delivered to me just in time for the wedding. This store never received my dress and had it shipped from the designer. I called and let them know the dress was in poor condition and I was unsatisfied. Their employee stated he would notate the account. My daughter had to wear the dress for the wedding as we didn't have enough time to find a replacement dress. Before the ceremony the dress strap unraveled and I had to pin the dress. During the ceremony another part of the strap unraveled and my daughter had to hold the dress up. Netting came off of the dress too. When I contacted the owner she stated she was sorry and my refund was on the way. Needless to say after three weeks of communication with this owner nothing was resolved. Only when I reached out to the owner for a status of the refund did she ask for additional information. The emails received from this company were very unprofessional and hostile. After filing a better business complaint on this company, I was told the dress wasn't defective and having to pin straps on a $200+ dress was OK. The quality was horrible and the customer service was very unprofessional and hostile. read more

Great dresses, you can't find variety and quality like it anywhere else. Prices are also very reasonalbe. Do Not have them do any alterations. Had a dress altered and destroyed, they replaced it for me, second seamstress they gave me did not fix the dress the way I wanted it, it was crooked along the bottom on the floor. Said she would correct it, but instead cut it along the higher part of the dress and the dress was about two inches above the heal of my foot, and with wearing healed shoes, it looked like i was wearing a "high water" dress. It looked horrible. Had my seamstress piece meal the dress with the extra fabric given to me when it was cut, thankfully it was a beaded dress so it didn't look so bad, however, I had to pay for two alterations. When I spoke to someone at the store they told me to send pictures of what happened and a letter and they would get back to me but they never did read more
