DISCLAIMER: I used them for lawn needs only, not pests. The Good: :: it's a local business :: service was very friendly and professional :: prices seemed fair and reasonable The Bad: :: they came to treat my weeds (preemergent and postemergent) in april, then a month or so later the weeds were still quite prevalent. new weeds kept cropping up in the area where i have established grass (bermuda) and new weeds crept up in the new areas where i laid down sod. i had them come to retreat the established grass again and they did so at no extra charge, which was appreciated :: they laid down fungicide for the entire front and back lawns. however the guy did so with his hand...and with no gloves, might i add. which is really a bit dangerous because that stuff is meant to be treated with PPE. regardless, they didn't spread evenly using a broadcast spreader. instead they spread it by hand, which for large areas like my front and back property, isn't efficient because it's not going to spread evenly. additionally, they charged me $80 for the service and used Heritage, a fungicide i can buy myself (an entire 30 lb bag) online and spread myself for the same price. i was hoping they would use something industrial that only professional services can purchase. additionally, when i asked the guys what kind of fungus problem(s) i had, they told me something that didn't jive with what i was seeing. i was told i had a problem of take-all fungus, and i think that was part of the problem but i found i also had gray leaf spot fungus. regardless, i let them know i wasn't happy about seeing their crew spread it by hand and no idea if it was done evenly and they offered to refund my money. i should have said yes but didn't. :: they can get quite busy (understandably so), and when i texted them photos of my property to ask what the possible fungus culprits were before i got them set up for treatment, they just never responded. at that point i was just desperate to get the fungus under control and trusted them to come out and treat whatever the issues were and figured i could find out what was going on when they came to service the property. would have preferred more information upfront on what was going on so i was informed on how they were going to treat it. The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? Doubtful. Having used them for different lawn needs, I'm still on the hunt for a professional lawn specialist who doesn't make me second guess their work. I'm sure they are wonderful at treating pest problems, but for lawn problems, I just wasn't impressed. This place is OUT. read more

Jorge, my technician today, texted me with an ETA and upon arrival, asked if I wanted him to take off his shoes before entering. So polite! I was experiencing some roach activity and while I've had other big pest control companies come, I don't feel like they were ever willing to answer questions and I still saw issues. Other than burning the place down (I hate bugs), I thought I would try somewhere else. When the Magic guys came out (Nathan was great!) - he was so helpful and nice to answer all my questions. At the rental home, due to bad insulation, we frequently got roaches, but thanks to Magic Pest and Lawn, they were always dead. I called Magic based on their rating and others' reviews and was not disappointed. As I explained to them, I don't have a pest problem. What I do have is a daughter who has developed a borderline phobia of cockroaches. She is utterly terrified of them. So to allay her fears, I decided to pre-emptively get the house treated. They recommended treatment both indoors and out, and reassured me that it would not be toxic to my dog. The service was scheduled for between 10-noon. But Justin texted me shortly after 8:00 to say that he was available earlier, if I was. Which worked out great for my schedule. Justin was prompt, courteous, and efficient. He had the house and yard treated in no time, and even advised me on some holes in the skirt around the house that I might consider caulking to prevent larger pests, such as mice, from coming in. We've been using Magic for this past year for the In2Care mosquito traps so that we could have a kid-friendly preventative method while living near a creek. They've always been super friendly to deal with via email and phone. Today we had Justin come out to do a treatment for carpenter ants coming in via trees adjacent to the house. I have been using Magic Pest and Lawn since I purchased my house in 2018. I first heard of them through their support of KUT/KUTX. I figured if they wanted to support community radio, they were probably a great business to work with. Scheduling with Neal is always quick and easy through email. We have quarterly treatment for pests and then monthly In2Care mosquito pot treatments. Although I rarely interact with the service techs, because I'm working when they stop by and don't need interior treatment, they are always super friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful of social distancing/masking during the pandemic. Today, Justin really went above and beyond! I ignored his phone call because I get so many spam calls; then I missed his door bell ring because I was in the other room; luckily, he sent me a text to let me know he was at my house.
