I've been here quite often and they have never disappointed. My go to is either the hibachi chicken bowl or teriyaki chicken bowl, and both are made very well. The owner is always very sweet as well, and has so much passion for what she does. This is by far one of my favorite places to get food! read more

My husband LOVES this place, however I think it's OKAY. Their fried rice isn't like hibachi friend rice- it's more of a brown rice. Their meat is relatively good and big portions! Their boba tea is more milky (even the fruit tea). They do give you a really cool cup you can take home though. One thing I absolutely rave about is their spring rolls!! read more

Ordered takeout. Shrimp and vegetables with fried rice and the two egg roll appetizer. Large portions and delicious. Shrimp are more like tempura and in a brown sauce but veggies were crisp tender and flavored perfectly. Cost was a few dollars more than menu posted on this site, but for small town Georgia, this place is great! read more

WHAT HAPPENED?!?!? This evenings carry out order was terrible! The first bad bag of food we've gotten at Magic Wok. We ordered sesame chicken, General Tso chicken, beef and mushrooms and two different mixed vegetables dishes. The two chicken dishes were NOT sesame chicken nor General Tso. They were both warmed over sweet and sour chicken, swimming in sickly sweet, sweet and sour sauce. We ordered medium spicy for both. There was absolutely zero spiciness. And half of the container wasn't even chicken....just tons of soggy broccoli. There was NO sesame seeds in the so called sesame chicken. We've ordered both of these dishes numerous times before and they were excellent. Not this time. The beef and mushrooms was mostly soggy broccoli. Very little beef or mushrooms. The two mixed vegetable dishes were ordered with garlic sauce. There was zero discernable garlic flavor. And again....an overload of soggy broccoli. Even the accompanying fried rice had no flavor. This was a shock to us, as we have always gotten delicious dishes before. And we've always gotten what we ordered. Not this time. There are too many excellent restaurant choices on our daily routes, so we'll be passing on Magic Wok until they regain a lot of quality control. read more

So bad. First was told it would be a 20 min wait. Turned to be an hour long. So many people inside just standing around waiting for their orders. The food was nothing impressive. Ended up throwing it all out after 3 bites. Fried rice was bland and not impressive. read more

What a fantastic place!!! The food is absolutely delicious!! The portions are big and the food isn't greasy. Generally had to wait about 15 minutes for my order, but that's to be expected. Some of my favorites were the Shrimp & Scallops, the Seafood Delight, the Pad Thai, and the Saigon noodles!! SOOOOOO GOOOOOD!!! The woman who owns it is such a sweet, nice person! I was in town for work for 3 weeks, and I ate here no less than a dozen times. After my second visit, the owner remembered me, my favorite orders, and the special instructions I would get with certain dishes (extra spicy noodles...ect). Absolutely recommend this place if you are in the mood for delicious Asian food! Must try! I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! read more

This is a fabulous little restaurant in Dahlonega! They are kind, extremely generous with portions, quick on the phone, and they usually have an order done within 30 minutes. They're pumping food out so fast I wonder how they manage. Every order is correct, and it tastes wonderful--the best we've had in Georgia. Anyone complaining about these people with less than a 5 star rating may like a different flavor, or are picky. Patience is needed during the pandemic and when a company risks their lives to produce food for us may make an error in timing or whatnot it's a crying shame to complain! Sorry not good at all. When we moved to Dahlonega from Cumming; we ask locals for the best Chinese food in the area. Sad to say everyone recommended Magic Wok. We had egg drop soup lo me in and I pretty sure it was suppose to be happy family. Soup was awful, wonton chips Old. Lo míen resembled dry boxed pasta and the steamed rice for the happy family was dry and crunchy on the top. Such a disappointment. read more

There needs to be a 0 star rating. My husband and I ate there last night. The food was, at best, mediocre. Within a few hours, we were both very sick, and were sick with "gastrointestinal distress" all night. Thankfully we have more than one bathroom. The one thing we shared was the shrimp appetizer (they completely forgot about the spring rolls we ordered), and since he ate most of it, he was much sicker than I was. I was in town for an event and craved some Chinese food. I stopped in the Magic Wok and ordered Singapore mei fun and chicken fried rice. The very courteous and chipper receptionist told me 15 mins. Either they were swamped or it was made to order. 15 mins later I was off to my hotel. The portions were definitely for two and the taste was very good. Absolutely inedible lunch. I ordered the Snow Pod Beef, and what meat there was was so chewy I spit it out. It came with 2 Crab Rangoon, but if you wanted hot mustard or sweet and sour sauce, it was $1 extra. My friend ordered the Mongolian Beef. Even less beef in hers, and also inedible. Phoned in an order on Sunday evening, 1/4/21 for takeout and was told it would be ready in 35 minutes. Arrived at the cited time and found about 8 orderers standing outside in the cold for their orders. Mine finally came out one half hour later. They were clearly overwhelmed by accepting more oders they could fill in a timely manner. There was only the light emanating from inside the restaurant through half closed blinds, so it was virtually impossible to read the charge slip and sign it. Here is my assessment of the food when I got home: Wonton soup -- had no wontons. An extra bag of crisps was substituted. Soup had little flavor. Totally unacceptable. Egg roll -- okay. Chicken Chow Mein was ordered, I received Lo Mein. It was okay, but I expect to get what I order. Hunan Pork -- was good. We have ordered a lot of takeout over many years and have not had problems like these. Food is not gourmet, but is generally good tasting and a good quantity, so usually a good value. I'll consider this an anomaly, but they need to up their game to avoid issues like this in the future. read more

I've been to Magic Wok several times over the years and have not once left disappointed. The atmosphere is casual but classy, and the staff uphold that atmosphere. The hostess and waitresses on staff are all very friendly and genuinely seem to care about my experience in the restaurant. On my most recent visit, I ordered the pad thai for the first as it was what I had been craving; it was more or less the reason I picked this particular place and cuisine in Dahlonega. The pad thai was immensely flavorful, and I couldn't help but be impressed; the serving size was also amazing, and I had enough to bring home. I ordered it spicy, and boy, did they provide. No complaints here, as I'm a lover of hot foods and often find myself struggling to find foods spicy enough for me. If you're not a fan, though, be careful about ordering spicy dishes here. I ordered the bubble coffee to go with my meal; Magic Wok is the only place in Dahlonega I've found that offers any kind of boba beverage, so I decided to give it a try. The boba had a great texture and the coffee was delicious, just sweet enough. Do yourself a favour and check this little underrated Chinese place out! read more

I have been searching for a good Chinese food place for a long time. I had given up. Everytime my family said they wanted Chinese for dinner I I would steer them in another direction because I was tired of paying a lot for so-so food. A friend insisted this place was good and I reluctantly gave it a try. I'm glad I did. It was the most delicious Chinese food I have ever had. I have not eaten in, but the takeout is very good. Everything tastes fresh. Nothing is too greasy or oily. Everything is flavorful without being too salty. My family got the chicken and garlic sauce, the Hunan beef, the triple delight, the Szechuan shrimp, some soup and eggrolls. Yum! read more

Gone to this place constantly since I started college up here. Fair prices, good portions, and good food. Recently they had a remodel that looks great. I recommend the Pad Thai. It's one of those places where you walk in and the owner's kid is doing homework in a booth, and the tv is on a Korean channel, and you just know it's gonna be good food for a good price. read more

Over the years this place has increased in price, but I don't mind. I come here for Sohpie. When I was originally started going (working next door at the tanning salon) it appeared to be the perfect set-up, family run, kids sitting doing school work, coloring, or playing at the front booth & Sophie's husband running around helping her answer phones & deliver take out orders. This all came to a screetching hault a little over a year ago with the passing of Sophie's husband. I go now not only to enjoy the food that is prepared for me, but also (more so now because it is quiet the drive for me) to help the family. Which helps me swallow the fact that it has become a little pricey. Sophie has always been so dear & so sweet to me, my friends & my family. She will soon feel like a part of yours, greeting you with open arms & smiles; remembering what you order after just your first time. I am a huge fan of Chinese food, and this restaurant does not disappoint. On my first visit, I tried the orange chicken and my acquaintance had the vegetable chicken. We both appreciated the fresh taste and flavorful sauces. Today, I had the General Tso's chicken, and she had the Pad Thai, not a Chinese dish traditionally, but it was executed well. General Tso's chicken is the dish I judge most Chinese restaurants by, although it's certainly not the most authentic dish, it is an American staple in Chinese food, and one of my favorites. It's simple, but many places don't give it the attention it needs. The General Tso's chicken here might be one of the best I have had. It's a family owned restaurant and the service is fantastic, I have thoroughly enjoyed every meal I've had there. One thing that could be overlooked is how great their duck sauce is, it's home made and tastes fantastic with the crunchy chip type things they serve as an appetizer- complimentary. If you're in Dahlonega, there aren't very many choices for Chinese food, this establishment puts the care and attention required into every dish, the food comes out hot, and tastes fantastic. I got the edamame. Very good. Requested the Szechuan Chicken to be extra spicy. Very very delicious. Got two egg rolls ate them both. Very good.
