Good place to pick up your water and Gatorade before or after your trip up Diamond Head. Drinks are ice cold and the hot dogs are even pretty good. The shaved ice is ok. We opted for the rainbow flavor which was sweet and yummy after the hike back down from the top. They said they're open 7 days a week and offer the same hours as the park. After the hot and humid hike on Diamond Head, the fiancé and I decide to cool down with some shaved ice from Magoo's Burgers (Since they're the only food truck at the State Park). Mind you, the other day we had Waiola Shave Ice. So we had that experience to compare Magoo's "Shave Ice". Let's keep it real. Magoo's should call their "shave ice" a Snow Cone. Because that's what it tasted like. It had huge pebbles of ice. It wasn't creamy and smooth. The texture of the ice was crunchy. A slurpy from 7 Eleven would have been smoother. I wasn't able to try any of their other menu options. I guess I was expecting every Hawaiian place that sells Shave Ice to taste as amazing as Waiola or Matsumoto. Guess not! read more

Perfect snack after the hike the flavors are great on the shaved ice they're really concentrated with real flavor and only 3.50. The service wonderful! It was four of us, we order three shaved ices and the friendly man made sure we got 4 spoons cause 2 of us were obviously sharing and he gave us ice cold wet napkins to cool off after our hike. That's awesome customer service. He's the only vendor here at diamond head so he doesnt have to try so hard for business and he still gives great customer service. I love that! This place get 5 stars from me just for customer service alone but after trying the more expensive $4.00 shaved ice at the aloha stadium a few days later were I got overly chunky ice swimming in sugar water with absolutely no flavor. 4 stars because they arent trying to rip off locals or visitors. The shave ice was only $3 and its actually a pretty good size. Its the perfect refreshment after a long hike up Diamond Head. They also have some food items if youre hungry. Its the only food truck up there, so if you want anything else, its gonna be a drive away! Water is $1.50 and gatorade isnt expensive. Got just some shaved ice from this brightly red painted truck. They offer a rainbow shaved ice cup. The rainbow flavor was tasty. It consists of strawberry (red), coconut (blue), and passionfruit(yellow). The best flavor was the strawberry syrup. The shaved ice comes in this brightly blue cup / cone. It looks like a blue plastic cup with a flower shaped lid on top. If you're sharing a shaved ice cone like we were you should remind them to get you an extra spoon and straw. You'll need the straw to slurp down the sugary goodness. This particular truck is right by Diamond Head so as we finished our ascent we rewarded ourselves with some shaved ice. There's a nice area with picnic tables nearby. The tables are brightly green and perfectly drilled to set down your shaved ice cup into the table. How awesome! Look mom no hands! The tables are also shaded to provide the much needed relief from the sun that day. My only grip was the size of the ice crystals. They were rather large and it was like chewing ice. It's been a couple weeks since we went to Diamond Head but I wanted to post a review. We had just got done walking, I had worn my 11.5 month old son and we were hot. I was trying to figure out if they took card and the man working was trying to get my attention (didn't realize he was talking to me as we were standing at a distance). My friend ended up getting food while I took my child and found a nice spot to sit. Friend came back and handed me an icee/shaved ice thing. Apparently the kind man really wanted my son to have one free of charge. So thank you sir for your kindness, my son loved it (we all shared as he really didn't need that much sugar as young as he is) but the gesture was appreciated! The friendliest staff! After hiking the trail and being pretty winded we walked over and realized it was cash only. The man said it was okay we didn't have cash and gave us some wet towels to cool down and asked what we were trying to get. We visited Magoo's after hiking the trail with our two young daughters. Efficient ordering system--place order and pay cashier, then step to the right and wait for your food. Keeps the line moving! Ordered them each a rainbow shaved ice, prices seem fair. Girls were happy. When our youngest insisted on holding her own cup and then inevitably spilled it, one of the employees came right over and asked us what flavor she had and insisted on replacing it. When he returned with the new shaved ice, he promptly cleaned up the mess from the spilled one and told us that the tables next to their truck had special holes drilled in the top...shaved ice cup holders!!
