The service was good. We were repeatedly asked if we want Paan without being informed that it is additional 2$. In the end, we asked to split the bill in 3 cards. We were told it's not possible and the staff member argued saying, you guys came as one group so give us one card. Then we asked can you split by person, we were told we don't take 5 cards. And to add further, we were told it's not possible to split uneven portion like 2 on one card and 3 on other. And the staff member was rude. I have literally not seen this before. Guests had to wait outside to wait for more tables to clear so the restaurant wouldn't be too crowded. The menu is set for that day and is $20 per person. Great service, but you have to make sure you call ahead if you are going around a busier time like the weekends or holidays. We had to wait about 1 hour before being let in. The food is great and they have special tags for dietary restrictions (such as dairy free). They bring the food out to you and serve it directly onto your plate. Most of it was good quality. I did find it to be heavier on the oil and their mango Russ was definitely from a can. We went during a busier time so the service was not as good and the servers seemed annoyed when you asked for stuff. My dad had to wait 45 mins to get some rice. A paradise for vegetarian choices of food. I have been here 2-3 times, and have always left the place satiated. This is not a usual 'order' from the menu place though. The concept of this place is quite Royal-like where you are served the variety of savory and sweet appetizers, followed by main meal and then dessert in a grand plate and cup bowls- what one calls as Thali. We were so incredibly disappointed, the food is not as good and the service is the WORST we've experienced. We wouldn't even have minded the price increase if the experience had been the same as it had been. Immediately after we sat down we found out our friends wanted to join us, the staff refused to move us (fine our food was served, I get that) they said they would reserve the booth immediately behind us but the within minutes of saying that sat someone there. When our friends arrived with a stroller the staff said they had to make adjustments to fit a stroller inside, made our friends wait 10 minutes then insisted the stroller had to go back to the car. Oh yes! Our experience here was as good as I expected it to be. Dining here doesn't only mean you are having a meal, it's an experience in itself. I had a proper 'thali' after years and couldn't be happier! We were warmly greeted on entering and seated quickly. We reached soon after they opened for lunch on a Friday, so they weren't at their busiest. We were asked if we had any food preferences, one can ask for a mild spice level or 'Jain' food as well. They would put up a note on your table to let the servers know what to serve you. They brought out warm water for our hand wash, yeah, get ready to get pampered. Out came our plates and things started moving quick. We were served chaat, appetizers(dhokla and vegetable cutlets) and the many varieties of sides. The hot phulkas(puffed chapathis) and puris kept coming. They also had kichdi and biryani. The sweets were amazing as well, moong dal halwa was SO good I still day dream about it. Drenched in ghee, it was just perfect! To wash this all down, they also serve spiced buttermilk. After the meal you have an option to buy sweet paan(not included in the thali) The thali here is 'unlimited' which means you can take multiple servings of anything and everything. The severs keep moving between tables to check if you need any extra helpings. Don't be overwhelmed if you aren't ready, they keep coming back. They carry food in small batches, so the food remains hot and fresh. The service was excellent, the staff was efficient and friendly too. The manager was checking on every guest to make sure everyone was having a good time. We visited from Dallas and around 12:45 there was a long queue. We had to wait for around 30 minutes and got a booth for a party of 5 (3 adults and 3 kids). It was right but the owner only charged for 1 kid which was nice. The food was awesome and service was fast, they were cleaning the tables nicely and distancing and masks were enforced. Thali to-go boxes come in two sizes: Large box includes all items on the menu (which changes daily). $16.99 for lunch and $18.99 for dinner. Dinner thali box also includes "Dish of the day." Small Box ($9.99) allows you to choose 2 of 4 vegetable curries and 1 of 3 Lentils. All other items (rice, appetizers, bread, desserts) are same as large box The lady at the cashier told me that the lentils (Rajasthani Kadhi, sweet Daal, and Spicy Daal), rice, (steamed rice and moong Daal Khichdi), and breads (Roti and Puran Pori) always stay the same, while the vegetable curries, appetizers, dish of the day and desserts change daily. We got the large to-go box and I can say I truly enjoyed every single item. Thali over here is unlimited so they will give you the dishes you like as many times as you want. They focus on food from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh which reminds me of home. Although I'm an avid meat eater and I love my meats in my curry, I have to say I usually like the sauces/curry broth more and would sop up all the deliciousness with rice or naan. This place is strictly vegetarian and I was willing to give it a try cause of all the amazing reviews - and you guys are right, there's definitely nothing like this experience and I don't think they could've done anything better for an Indian vegetarian place. We came by for lunch and was welcomed by the owner. He was really friendly and we were seated immediately. We waited for the arrival of the 3rd person in our party, and right when she sat down - we were bombarded with immediate service! The owner came by to ask us if this was our first visit, we said yes and he told us he'll be back once we get all our food to further explain to us what the dishes were and how we should pair everything. A server comes to pour water over your hands for a quick wash, another server comes so you can place a coin in a collection figurine (I'm sorry I don't recall what it was), I'm assuming for good luck or as some kind of offering for the food. They didn't explain this to us but now I'm curious and sad I didn't get a chance to ask! Then the arrays of colorful and delicious food comes out - I think 5-6 different servers came by to set everything on our plates. We got a buttermilk drink, a bit on the tart side - almost like a plain lassi. It probably does well in cutting the spices but I didn't quite prefer this drink - just wasn't a favorite for my pallet. They also serve you water at the same time. Then comes another server with a salad, 3 different sauces for dipping your samosas and onions. Another person comes with 4 different curries - potatoes, chick peas, lentils, saag paneer, etc. I couldn't tell you everything I had but it was all unique in textures and flavors. I loved the potatoes and my friend loved the saag paneer and another loved the sweeter curry with the chickpeas. There's definitely something for everyone. Then comes 4 different lentils - from savory to sweet. And then the breads - there's a flat bread, a puffy savory bread, and then a cake-like bread. All depends on your preference - and an array of vegetable and plain white basmati rice. There was the curry dish/soup of the day in the middle as well, along with 2 sweets - one white milky dish and a honey like pastry. I wish I knew the names of everything! They even brought out a sample of the mango lassi - which is less sweet than what I'm use to and more of a yogurt consistency. I loved all the breads, the puffy one the most. I loved the white dessert and the soup we got for the day. They come by several times with refills of anything you want, it is all you can eat, so come hungry and leave stuffed!
