    beef ball pho
    Amanda W.

such a cute place but did not liked their pork chop, wasnt grilled enough and lacked that viet pork chop seasonningggg. Summer roll grilled beef didnt taste grilled, had a jerky mala taste, umm, the peanut dipping sauce was creamy but a lil tangy(i was a fan but not my girl), fishsauce dip was not loved by us, tasted like sweet thai chili sauce, spring roll skin was not very crispy i liked the filling tho, my girl did not. Pho broth was tasty reminded me of phobk in 8th avenue, meat portions such as my beef balls $3 which i added as an extra, was on the small side in halves, but the soup bowl itself was huge. Papaya salad portion was generous as well, but was a miss, the server/maybe manager was apologetic and asked us for feedback for the large amount of it left behind. There wasnt a spiciness to it but it's been toned down for the neighborhood general palate, but i didnt want the long bean cut in half and i wished it was crispy. Viet iced coffee was good but just a tad bit watery, prob on us tho, we didnt immediately poured into the ice cup(sorry no pic). We were definitely bummed the experience did not hit that pho spot in us like we hoped it would.

Love this spot! So happy that they opened a Vietnamese restaurant so close to me. The spring rolls are amazing, calamari so crispy and the food so tasty! Love everything I've ordered here so far. I will be back. Service is also great. The owners are so kind and accommodating.

Relatively new restaurant that has comfortable seating and was pretty quiet on a weekday. The pho was solid and on par with other spots, but the grilled pork rice dish was missing some of the authentic flavors I was hoping for. The beef summer roll, though, was tasty and went really well with the dipping sauce. Overall, a nice addition to the neighborhood.

As the weather gets colder I tend to gravitate to warm, comforting foods. Pho is usually high on that list, but until recently it was hard to find in Bay Ridge. Thankfully we now have Mai's. Inside is brightly lit, and the staff are all warm and inviting. They are quick with menus, quick with the food, and it seems almost like they remembered my wife and me from our first visit. Pluses all around :) So far we've only ever had the pho (both beef and chicken), and they were exactly what we both wanted. I will agree that the broth isn't as nuanced as some of the best pho I've ever had, but this is certainly a delicious bowl of noodles that satisfies all of the comfort cravings I have.

Mais Vietnamese Restaurant is a gem. The space is cute, modern, and incredibly clean. It feels welcoming from the moment you walk in. I had the vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken and it was fresh, flavorful, and tasted truly authentic. The herbs were crisp, the noodles were light, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and grilled. I also ordered a bowl of bone broth pho and it was clean, comforting, and rich with depth. Nothing heavy, just pure, nourishing flavor. The real surprise was the salty plum with seltzer. It was my first time trying it and it hit all the right notes -- sweet, salty, and full of umami. Super refreshing and unique. This spot is a go-to if you want quality Vietnamese food in a calm and thoughtfully kept space.

Mai's has been a great and much needed edition to Bay Ridge. The restaurant is clean and spacious and the service is fairly quick. I've dined here on several occasions since their opening and tried a variety of dishes. The food feels like homestyle cooking with a clear pho broth that is light and fragrant and they provide you with a full plate of aromatics (cilantro, thai basil, jalapeno, bean sprouts, lime). The fried appetizers (spring rolls and shrimp rolls) are nice and crispy and served with fresh lettuce and pickled carrots and daikon. The chicken satay wasn't your traditional satay but tasty nonetheless and the portion was generous with big chunks of chicken on 4 skewers. Tip - they have a grand opening promo where you get a free order of spring rolls when you spend $30 or more.

Food was delicious highly recommended Great portion. Service was a bit slow. But that's okay.

One of my favorite foods when it gets colder is pho, so I'm very glad that this spot opened this fall. I've been getting the grilled chicken pho, which comes with a generous portion of chicken alongside a big bowl of noodle soup and the usual accompaniments of bean sprouts and herbs. Everything has been very fresh, and the service has been quick and helpful. Very glad to find a new pho spot before the winter!

My friend and I came on a rainy weekday and it was quiet. We were seated immediately and the service was quick. I tried the beef noodle soup and it was okay, but the soup was slightly on the salty side. There was a lot of noodles which helped fill me up but there weren't that many slices of beef. There's several tables inside and is clean.

Enjoyed a large delicious bowl of pho today. The broth was tasty, complex yet not muddy. With delicious bits of tender beef and tendons. Honestly a really good value. Simple clean decor and attentive service. Really hit the spot after a long chilly day.

Food here was absolutely delicious!!!! Bahn Mi was stacked and I can't wait to have another salad bowl. This is my new fav spot!

Everything is good, food, service, prices and facilities. Also the portion is big. Very satisfying. I'll come back again.

The restaurant is well lit and looked and felt clean though the music was little loud. The service was quick and the wait staff was patient and checked on us sparingly. The only issues I had was with the pho broth and the saltiness of the foods. The broth in a beef pho is supposed to be savory, aromatic, and slightly sweet but the broth in the soup tonight wasn't that, it was overly salty and lacked flavor. The popcorn chicken is also really salty. The spring roll was good but also a little too salty. The summer roll could have been better. The experience wasn't bad but chef needs to ease up on the salt

The service was okay - it was obvious the server was brand new/still in training so I'm sure he'll get better and congrats to him on the new job! Btw, in case you were wondering this place is NOT Vietnamese-owned, or at least the server + the host + some workers in the back were not, or perhaps they're trilingual. In any case, I was a little sad about that because there really is a lack of good Viet food in NY so although other ethnicities are more than welcome to own places not of their own ethnicities, I was just hoping to find more Viet-owned Viet food businesses. That being said, I got pho bo vien (which I suppose now I know why there's no Vietnamese text on the menu... so this is the viet meatball pho??) and it was okay. Nothing bad, nothing special, probably a bit too pricey for what you get. I was hoping for some comfort food since this location is nearby. The broth was overall fine after adding some hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Unsure if I'll come again... the convenient location for me is probably the main selling point

I wish they were bigger but no other complaints. The bahn mi's were delicious i got the prok and the flavoring were juicy with their homemade sauce pickled carrots and cucumbers slices balancing it out. The bread was so crispy i throughly enjoyed.
