Located right off the 347, stand alone establishment with a large parking area. Went for a facial and massage, made reservations previously online. Came on a Saturday mid day, warm welcome, they took our coats and guided us downstairs to the spa area. You walk in to a full service hair salon. The downstairs is focused on the spa only. They have resting areas, play relaxing music, and the entire staff was pleasant to interact with. Only minus was you could still hear the music and talking from upstairs when you walked by the staircase. I got the chocolate covered strawberry facial with Jayde. She was great, she answered my questions during the experience. During the mask portion, she offered a scalp massage or hand and arm massage. I went with the hand and arm massage which she did excellent with. This calming, cleansing, uplifting facial was followed by my full body massage with Lea. Lea is a gem! She wished me happy birthday a few times and gave me so much good knowledge about my body, my high tension areas and tips on how to relax them at the end of a day. Each service was about 1 hour. Total for two people facial/massage and tax/tip came to $486. I definitely plan on returning for self-care. read more

Unfortunately, I never even had the opportunity to experience the actual services Maia offers due to the poor communication and lack of organization leading up to my appointment. About a month in advance, I called to book a couples massage for my boyfriend and me to celebrate our anniversary. I booked early because I know these appointments can fill up quickly. At the time, I was told they would call me to confirm once everything was finalized, which seemed completely reasonable. Two weeks passed without any communication, so I called to follow up. I was told they were still waiting for a second massage therapist to confirm and that someone would call me back. Another week went by, and again, I heard nothing. Four days before our scheduled appointment, I called once more. I was told they had supposedly tried to contact me the previous week, but I never received a call, voicemail, or message. During that conversation, I was informed that the second massage therapist had injured her shoulder and could no longer work on the second table in the couples massage room, meaning my boyfriend and I would need to be placed in separate rooms. Of course, I was sorry to hear about the therapist's injury, but the entire reason I booked was for a couples massage experience. I also wasn't comfortable with the idea of an injured therapist potentially pushing herself further. I was then told they would "work something out." What that ultimately meant was that the therapist would only be able to accommodate one of the two couples massages scheduled that day and would have to choose between our appointment and another booked later. After a month of poor communication, repeated follow-ups on my part, and last-minute changes to the service I had specifically planned for our anniversary, I decided to cancel the appointment myself. With only four days' notice, there was little chance of finding another couples massage elsewhere. While I understand that unexpected situations happen, the lack of proactive communication and the way this was handled was extremely disappointing. A special anniversary experience that I had planned a month in advance ended up being ruined due to poor planning and customer service. Maia needs to do better. I showed Afia 3 different pictures of MY hair with the color I wanted. I had it done in the past she told me yes definitely and it came out horrible and was not blonde at all could barely see any difference. It was a terrible experience. I had the worst experience of my life at this salon. With a manager who refuses to refund me and my hair is chopped up. I would never recommend this salon. Starting off I went to get my hair trimmed and a blowout. I went in Just asking for my face framing pieces to be more angled. I have attached a picture of what I had received. Absolutely horrific haircut and now a month later and am trying to get extensions to get my hair fixed. My hair is absolutely chopped and had went to another salon to get it fixed, she was completely appalled by the haircut and can't believe I had even payed. I also went to get my makeup done for a rehearsal dinner in hopes of having the makeup being simple and showing a picture prior the makeup artist was clearly not experienced and made me look if I had two black eyes. They also never offered to curl my lashes or put on mascara. I asked for false lashes and while they were looking for the bottle of glue I had heard the girl state I am not sure if this is nail glue or eyelash glue. I am absolutely devastated with the service I had gotten and am even more shocked that Maia salon will not fix this. I have attached photos below. read more

Update: I thought they deserve an update on my previous review after I had a great full day spa experience at MAIA. Except for the lady who did my hair everyone else seemed to know what service they were providing me. Nicole was as always very welcoming and she knew I was spending the entire day at the salon (well from 11-4pm). The lady at the reception checked on me and had a great experience with each one of them who I met that day. I think the spa package I received was the "spa retreat" it was a great experience. Lunch was also provided. The package included a facial, a massage, blowout, manicure and pedicure. I must mention the nail tech who did my nails was great! She was very friendly and did a great job!! Her name was Jaqline. She was easy on my nails, got me the perfect nail color. I didn't want color at first but she suggested a color that was nude and natural just the one I wanted. Nicole did my facial and makeup refresher - Nicole is very courteous and a friendly person. Had a great massage from Joyce as well. It was a little bit of a hassle at first when I tried to schedule the appointment. Once I called to ask them about a service that was on their website have posted on their website but whoever answered the phone had no clue they offered the service. I happened to meet the owner of Maia who finally scheduled the appointment and I had the chance to chat with her. She was a lovely lady. This spa package was my first Mother's Day gift as a first time twin mom. Overall, I had a great experience at Maia. My day was well spent and it was great ! read more

Just a horrible experience. Went hem there for an eyebrow wax, my regular Tatiana called in sick, so they gave me another girl ( don't remember her name) I should have cancelled. She literally made one eyebrow much thinner then the other and tried convince me it looks even. 3 weeks later, another appointment with my original girl Tatiana. Day of appointment, I get a call Tatiana is not in, but they have another girl. I explain what happened last time and they assured me they will not give me the same women. That afternoon, I get a call that that women called in sick, so another was recommended. Well, only to receive a call 2 hours b4 appointment that she never showed up for work. Unfortunately I did not have the best experience at this salon. I got a balayage done here 1.5 years ago by Floridalma which was beautiful and natural, I really loved it. Now in October 2021, I decided to come back to Maia Salon and get a balayage by Afia. I showed her a picture (picture #1) and explained how I wanted an ashy brown balayage. I felt uneasy throughout the entire process as it was much different than my first experience, but I decided to trust her. I left that day with various shades of blonde in my hair and a VERY warm and golden undertone. I knew this was not what I wanted or asked for but I let Afia finish and blow it out to see the final product. (picture#2) I voiced my concerns to the front desk as well and they told me to come back for another toning, so I did. Grace was my stylist and I explained to her again what I wanted. I heard Afia then tell her that I wanted to be a darker blonde, so I again told Grace that I never wanted to be blonde and would like to be a darker brown at the minimum if they cannot achieve ashy. Grace achieved a look that I liked, but still not what I wanted. (picture #3) Unfortunately, after the first wash, I was back to various shades of blonde and it got worse with every wash. (picture #4) I went for another toning a few weeks later, and I walked out with basically jet black hair. I told Grace that I would like to be just about a shade darker than what she gave me last time, as I felt this would be close to ashy brown. I truly felt it was clear that I wanted brown, not black (picture #5 & 6) I truly appreciate the efforts to fix my hair and get it to what I want, but clearly the damage had been done. I would like to add that I did not have to pay for the additional toning services, I only had to pay for a blowout this last time that I went. However, I spent $300 for a balayage which is non-existent at this point and I now have jet black hair. I really tried to stay optimistic the entire time but unfortunately this was a traumatic experience for me. read more

So, I get a lot of pedicures. And this was by far the most... I don't know quite how to describe it... interesting one I have ever gotten. My appointment was for 4:45. I arrived 5 minutes early. After I checked in, I walked over to the technician doing my services as she was filling up the bowl with water if I was going to be with her and she abruptly responded, "Yea, but I'll get you when I'm ready." So I sat down in the sitting area and waited. At 4:49, another employee asked said technician if she wanted her to remove the gel polish on my toes. She curtly responded yes and something about how she was running late because she had to finish a French manicure. Another employee brought me to the pedicure chairs around 4:55 and began to remove my gel polish. She then stopped midway through because she had another customer. My technician then came over and offered me the list of colors to look at. So I killed another 15 minutes doing that while watching their large tv. My technician did not begin my pedicure until 5:15. I don't mind waiting. I get it. It's Friday. You guys are busy. But the thing that bothered me was that she did not apologize for my wait or try to make up for it at all with a beverage or a magazine or anything. Saga continues. Said pedicure begins. I am not allowed to soak my feet until after my gel polish has been put on for some reason about mold. This is a first. I also have a high pain tolerance. But I was blown away by how rough my toes were handled. I did not say anything about this at the time, I should have. I think it hurt so badly because I had not been able to soak, so everything was done when my feet were dry. Eek. Midway through my pedicure, we begin to dialogue about our lives, and I start to feel a bit better about my technician. Overall, please know, she is a nice woman, and I am not going to state her name here so as to not get her in trouble. This review is not meant to bash anyone in anyway, but I just really felt the need to express how the beginning of my time here was really not handled appropriately at all. read more

The people here are extremely nice. They are all very skilled. I came in here a few months ago with a botched up hair color job from another stylist at a different salon. My stylist Melissa did a fantastic job not only correcting the color, but getting the shade to my desired shade. She took her time and clarified what I wanted exactly. The best part is that my hair wasn't damaged or dried out in the least from the color correcting process. The color also lasted a few months before I needed to go back in for a touch up. The prices are also good considering the skill level you get there. Would highly recommend. read more

Wost salon on long island, a beauty school would be a better place to get your hair done. Came in for blonde highlights and the stylist did not allow my hair to process long enough for the color to lift. She then put a toner on with glaze so that any blonde that was bleach was turned brown. So then another stylist used a clarifying shampoo that did not lighten my hair, and she put in low lights to break the mono tone non highlight look I got which made my hair look worse. The staff did not know how to correct my hair it was like amateur day. Save your money read more

Went here for a facial I got on Groupon. Overall, the facial was average. I don't like when the aestheticians try to push product on you when you leave. In addition, I was told that all the products used are organic. Meanwhile, I looked at the products they used afterwards and they had a St Ives exfoliant out! As far as I know, St Ives is not organic nor the product I would expect to be used during a facial- I have that at home! I'd go back here, not sure if I'd go back to the same woman. read more

I went to this Salon in Nov 2020 for a Keratin Treatment. I had Roy who did a winderful job and it lasted 6 months!! I went back July 1 for another treatment, was told Roy left and another person did my keratin treatment. Well, it has been two weeks and the treatment is not working. My hair is frizzy!! The girl burned my head with the blow dryer and my scalp peeled. I come to also find out that the product and process was different than the Nov 2020 treatment. She used a product that will only last 1-3 months and I was never informed of this. Also she was done with it within 1 hour and the last time it took over two hours. I questioned this and was told that there are different ways to do it. I am very disappointed. I called the salon and was told by Christine that they will do a conditioner in my hair if I go back. She also said that the salon gets great reviews. In reading these here, I see many disappointed people like myself!! I am afraid they might screw me up even more If I go back. Had a blowout with deep conditioning treatment today and I was not dissapointed. The place is clean and well kept. The vibe is relaxing. The receptionist is accomodating and offered me drinks right away while waiting which made me feel welcomed. Amber was very good in shampooing my hair, very friendly and gentle. Love her. Specifically, Grace has colored and styled my hair each time and I can honestly say she does a perfect job. Had a pedicure at Maia. The nice lady with the long blonde hair did the work. Hands (and toes) down the best pedi I have ever had. I have been getting pedi's for 20+ years. It's been three weeks and not a single chip. She cut my nails perfectly and the polish was perfection. I highly recommend ditching the cheap pedi places and treat yourself to a real spa pedi. Terrible isn't even a good enough word for this experience. Went in for a balayage and a cut and left with unfinished hair. Provided details and photo of Specifically what I was looking for, and asked the stylist if it was possible on my hair before they even started. I was told yes and it wouldn't be a problem. This gentleman proceeded to do whatever he thought it was a balayage and apply color to the wrong place on my red with the intention of making my entire head red. As soon as I noticed I asked him to correct it which was met by attitude and a aggressive head washing. Then it seems as though they do not have any of the colors they're intending to use and I asked for them to stop wash out what was in my hair so that I could leave because I wasn't confident in their abilities to which I was argued with and then forced to pay the full amount for service is not completed. Incredibly unhappy with experience will share that with everyone I ever meet can't get anyone on the phone to speak with me and this is not a BBB accredited Business... I wonder why!! Hair is fried and had to take an appointment at another salon to have it fixed. Do yourself a favor spend your money elsewhere literally anywhere else. The ENTIRE staff is unbelievably knowledgeable and so personable. I first met Tessa, one of the managers, and her warmth and beauty drew me in to finally walk in the door. I attended an event where monthly memberships were offered for different levels of salon and spa services. I joined immediately. I was wrong... I totally could afford a membership that suited my beauty needs. My stylist is named Liz and she is incredible. She is knowledgeable; patient, an excellent teacher; beautiful, and up on all the current/latest styles, products and services. I could not be happier and am so glad I took the plunge by treating myself to this type of beautifying regularly. It was about 10 minutes long and the lady refused to give a simple design and said I didn't need it and that she didn't have time for it. My gel manicure was horrible! I was looking for a new spa to join membership.... my esthetician literally slapped products on my face for 50 minutes, I was freezing and she didn't turn the bed warmer on, she gave me microdermabrasion WITHOUT steam (which if you went to esthetics school like I did!!) you know that's a Nono.... the only thing I asked for was extractions and she only did my chin and nose not my forehead or cheeks which is what I needed...her cell phone was buzzing the whole time and while my mask was on all I could hear was her thumbs clicking texting!!! There was product up my nose, in my mouth, burning my eyes I don't understand! So unprofessional and so angry I not only wasted a Groupon here but also paid extra for microdermabrasion. I am so upset about this place. They give decent massages which is why the deserve 1 star, but I recently got a facial and shortly after was horrified to look in the mirror when I realized there were 3 different scars on my nose. I'm petrified. I don't know what to do. As someone who's very weary of their skin and has been battling acne for years, I have finally gotten pretty clear skin! All I wanted her to do was remove blackheads. But she managed to leave a scar almost every spot she went to. I'm gonna look up some homemade remedies and hopefully I can get the scar out. But I'm just so disappointed... they're so expensive yet don't have high quality insurance.
