Cleanings are so bad that on 2 occasions I wasn't even sure if they had cleaned my apartment. $70 is what I've been paying for my 570 sq ft apartment that never seems clean. I was on a regular schedule for the 1st Thursday of every month and in the last 3 months they have been no shows. Not even a phone call to follow-up on the missed cleaning, I had to call them to reschedule. So why haven't I found another maid service you ask, to be honest, pure laziness. But today for them to not confirm my service for tomorrow after leaving 2 voicemails - I'm done with them. There are so many great maid service companies, don't settle for this one. They are cheaper than most but you get what you pay for. You guys lost a customer + the client I referred to you that gets weekly cleanings after the 1st cleaning which was actually good! I had a coupon for their services and trying to schedule my cleaning was frustrating as they are very busy. That being said they were very understanding when I cancelled my appointment last minute due to an illness and it was a bit easier to schedule it the second time around. While scheduling may be frustrating, their cleaning services more than made up for it. In 90 minutes my 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo was shiny and clean. Every surface dusted, vacuumed, wiped down, scrubbed, or mopped. My place looked great and after that I signed up for bi-weekly cleaning. If it were possible to nominate a worst DC business award, I would do so. I bought a LivingSocial voucher several months ago and have literally tried to schedule my appointment 10 times. I kid you not, 10 times. The first several times, I unwittingly left a message, assuming someone would get back to me. I left two phone numbers. Perhaps my mistake was in mentioning that I had a LivingSocial voucher, thus they knew I wasn't paying full price but they already had my money and thus I was not worth their time? Who knows. Finally, on my 5th time, at around 1pm, I reach the schedule-guy. He mentions that he can't schedule me but promises to call back the next day. I say that the next day, a Tuesday, I would be traveling so he promises to call me back the same day (Monday) when he gets back to the office. Fine. Wait until 5pm... no call. Sure enough, when I get off my plane the next day, I have a missed call. Whatever, at least he tried right...? I proceed to try to call again and leave a message another 3-4 times, never getting a return call. Another time, I reach the same guy who promises to call me back the next day because yet again, inexplicably, he can't schedule me for some reason. Of course, he never calls back, this time I don't even get a missed call. Finally, today, at 2:45pm I try again and I reach "that guy". He says he's on the road but promises, PROMISES to call me back in 10-15 minutes. I explain calmly that I've been trying this for 2 months and he never calls back, but oh yes, he PROMISES this time he will! At this point he probably recognizes me, I'm that annoyed sounding girl that has left about a dozen messages. Guess what? He didn't call me back and it's 3:15!! I try calling HIM back, but of course, no answer. So. Not only am I not a customer of this place it turns out, I'm pretty sure I'm lodging a huge complaint with LivingSocial and probably am no longer a LivingSocial customer due to THIS PLACE. read more

I would have given them 2 stars under normal conditions. The Arlington location NEVER answered the phone or called back on the number that was listed on the Groupon deal I purchased. This seems to be a trend with companies that offer house cleaning deals. As a person who is buying these deals to try to find the best local cleaners for ongoing service, I can tell you this is a HUGE mistake. I have since found a company that answers the phone on the first ring, and I'm sticking with them. Anyways, I was able to finally get an appointment scheduled for my boyfriend's apartment. However, they were also lax about sending an email confirmation. Yes, I'm anal about this after my experience with other companies. The reason I add the third star is because they were flexible in rescheduling the appointment after the front desk people wouldn't let them into my boyfriend's apartment for some inexplicable reason (he left a key specifically for them). So they were supposed to come back........ And they did, but when they arrived at 10 and there was a problem with the keys, they stayed for a half hour, then decided not to call me to let me know they were leaving, and refused to pick up my phone calls until 2 hours later, or return them for that matter. Then, a week later they called because they said my credit card wasnt going through and tried to charge me. HA. Point is, they are awful. When I tried to explain to the guy that i needed it cleaned that day and told him he was unprofessional, he started to YELL AT ME. what happened to the customer is always right? I used Maid to Please once and will never use them again. The maids broke my blinds and only offered an apology and I had to pay for new blinds in my apartment. The cleaning was subpar, as my apartment looked the same way before they cleaned it. Also, the maids made a comment about how I could live alone in such a big and nice apartment - not sure what they meant, but oh well. I had a living social coupon for a 1200 feet cleaning, and then turns out that they only clean whatever they can in 1 hr. All I asked is for them to clean 1 kitchen, 2 bathroom, and a living room. When time's up they were still in the middle of cleaning and left a huge mess on the floor. I ended up having to do the rest of the cleaning, cleaning up the mess that they left me. I had a great first-time experience with a house cleaning service using Maid to Please. I was easily able to schedule through the DC/VA location and even got an appointment for the next day. They were flexible with the time, as well. They arrived on time. The impossible to clean 1-inch tiles in our double-occupancy shower was cleaned spotless. I was able to get $25 off using a deal on their website. Usually there are 2 people to a team but they had 3 people during my service. They worked fast and professionally. I've been using Maid to Please for about 2 years. I've used several cleaning services in the past and while the cleaning isn't the best I've ever paid for, it is a very good value. Best, though, is how convenient is it to reschedule service and schedule additional services. They are very responsive over email, which I find way more convenient than phone. They are also very responsive to feedback and aim to please so if you do have a problem let them know and they'll likely resolve it quickly. read more

I used Maid to Please for almost a year and loved it. A team of two people cleaned my place once a month. A day or two before the appointment date, I'd get an auto-reminder e-mail. (I believe Jaki was the regular team leader for my studio apartment.) The owner came to the very first appointment, which I appreciated -- it felt much more trusting and professional. If I ever had questions or had to cancel, he was in touch within a day, if not a matter of hours. I never had scheduling problems that weren't resolved quickly. It's definitely a thorough cleaning -- soap scum cleaned off the soap dish, dusting on all surfaces, all of it. They would even straighten up clothes that were strewn about. I felt comfortable leaving all my stuff within anyone's reach. The ONLY reason this isn't 5 stars is that they initially didn't process my "new customer" coupon, so I had to bug them about it, and one time they arrived way before the scheduled time, which put me in an awkward situation. They were apologetic, professional and didn't rush me to leave the place, however. I still very much recommend Maid to Please. read more

Avoid these people, they don't do a good job and are pricey, in a nutshell. Just would like to expand on my first review. After they came to my house for a "deep" cleaning (Should any cleaning not be thorough and why hire a service if it is not thorough?) they performed a mediocre job and charged way too much for what I could have done myself, as well as broke the closing mechanism for one of my brand new windows. I called and disputed, but to no avail. I've had Maid To Please cleaning my 4 story townhome for 2 years now and I've been very satisfied with their work and flexibility in scheduling. The cleaning team comes in and starts from top to bottom. They ask me to check their work to ensure I am satisfied with the level of cleanliness and believe me I am picky especially with my bathrooms and kitchen and they do really good. Maid to Please has been cleaning my Capitol Hill row house for three years. They are both prompt and reliable (my weekly cleaning has be rescheduled maybe twice during that time). The cleaning ladies are fast and quiet--I work from home and it often happens that I don't know they are here working until they start running the vacuum near the end of the appointment. Two teams seem to alternate weeks and one team is slightly better/more thorough than the other. I brought this to the attention of the manager, Shiraz, and noticed an immediate and lasting improvement of the one team. My floors are always shiny and, as the former owner of a cleaning service, I'm quite picky, I would give the average visit 9 out of 10 stars. I try to straighten up ahead of their arrival, but even when I don't, I can see they have moved things around, dusted all the shelves and have really made an effort. read more

I wish I could give them more, but the cleaning was less than sub-par. We paid $120 for a move-in cleaning, and they failed to clean anything but the counters and floors. The toilet had visible brown mold in it that they didn't even touch, and I was able to clean the bath tub myself with Dawn/Vinegar solution. The baseboards were all covered in dust as well, and they didn't touch the inside of the microwave, stove or fridge. I will NOT be going back. I think they must have walked in, washed the floors and counters, and charged my credit card for it. Not worth it. read more

I found this company online and I did not have any coupons. We are 2 adults in a large house with no pets and we are non-smokers. My house is always spotless and it does get a little dusty but that's it. First of all, I want to agree with all the comments about emails and phone messages. They are correct. No one returns emails or phone calls on a regular basis. I think the owner works for another company and runs his cleaning franchise on a part time basis. Or he sleeps a lot. I never understood the hours that he did NOT work. I wonder if the Franchisor knows what's going on at this location? I guess I should contact them and inform them. Anyway....Our agreement was that it was supposed to be 2 ladies cleaning 8 rooms out of 14. We never use the upstairs so it was an easy job for them. At first they were great but with each cleaning they got lazier and lazier and did less and less. They were paid to be here for 2 hours at each visit. They started working less and less and leaving earlier and earlier. Some examples: There was a very large dead lighting bug on the carpeted floor of the master bedroom. For 5 months I said nothing. I let the dead thing lay there to test the 2 cleaning ladies. They never vacuumed it. After 5 months of their declining work, I called Russell, the owner, and requested an additional hour so they could clean 2 extra bathrooms and vac all the baseboard in the downstairs. They cleaned one extra bathroom and never did vac the baseboard. They did vac my bedroom and extended their area to include my dead bug. Yea finally!! I have no idea why they never cleaned the baseboard. Their toilet cleaning meant "pour clorox into the toilet and flush". No scrubbing the rings or throats of the toilets. They left toothpaste spots on the walls surrounding the sink, they didn't like it when I asked them to dust the bathroom cabinets but when I said it was because I used bath powder and needed the excess cleaned, they agreed to dust them. What the heck? They are there to clean what I want. I am paying them for services convenient for me. One of them tried vacuuming while on the phone. She got huffy when I requested that she hang up the phone. Tuff noogies. I do not pay anyone for being on a phone. They cleaned the front of my microwave with a greasy cloth. I could write my name in the grease but they thought I was asking for too much to expect it to be clean. It was definitely clean BEFORE they touched it. When I paid for a 3 hour visit and they left after 90 minutes, I was done with them. I had had enough. Russell said he was going to give me a refund, but I never got it. I even invited him here to see exactly what I was talking about and he agreed these ladies were doing MUCH less than they should have been doing. I guess I need to take him to court so he realizes that we are not all so stupid and he needs to pay for his employee's mistakes and laziness . I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!! read more

Being a very busy housewife with 2 kids and a job (not to mention a dog and a cat), I found their online estimator very convenient and was able to get a price for my apartment cleaning without having to call or wait for someone to call me back. I ordered their "spring deep cleaning" which was very reasonably priced and am happy with the results. They showed up on time (surprise!surprise!), were extremely polite and attentive to the instructions that I had for them and even offered to clean the few dishes in the kitchen sink that I wasn't able to wash before they came in. They left about 2 hours later with my place all tidied up and spotless (specially the bathroom and the kitchen) and smelling fresh. Great job Maid to Please. Go elsewhere. Their voicemail box is always full and they are unresponsive whenever you have a concern -- just as the other reviewers have attested. When you do speak with someone, they will tell you whatever tale suits their purpose of the moment. We gave up on them some time ago. Normally that would be the end of it. But today they sent us an email threatening us with a $500 fine (on the assumption that we hired one of their former cleaners to clean our home directly - which we haven't). I'm insulted and furious.
