Visiting here over 35 years, have yet to experience a bad meal. We always have at least 1 special and 1 classic menu option. The staff is efficient and the atmosphere is welcoming. Perfect location for intimate family dinners, grabbing a drink with friends or a special celebratory location. It's always a unanimous decision amongst family and friends to eat and drink at the Brick!

We had a reservation, but placed was packed so we had to wait past our reservation time, BUT, both the bartender and Owner/Host -?(Mark) were very attentive while we had to wait. When you sit down @ your table they serve complimentary Chips w/minced Chop meat & onion, absolutely delicious. We ordered a Caesar's salad to split and something about the dressing that made it not right. It was tangy and too creamy, I don't recommend it. For dinner we ordered the Filet Mignon tidbits and Chicken tidbits. The Filet Mignon tidbits were cooked PERFECT, excellent dish. The Chicken tidbits were very good, but once you bite into the Filet Mignon tidbits, you forget about the Chicken tidbits, Ha! Great waitress which is SO IMPORTANT. Not once did we feel rushed being the place was packed and probably wanted our table. We'll be back, probably for Sauerbraten night.

Wonderful local spot for great food and drinks! My friend and I came for dinner and drinks before seeing a friend play in a band here. The drinks were strong and perfect. There was a bit of a wait for our table and the bar was super crowded but every was so nice and friendly so it was all good! When we did sit down we ordered the pretzel appetizer and it was so good!! The cheese sauce was spicy but the perfect kind of spicy and the mustard sauce tasted like a cross between mustard and ranch and it was great!! For dinner my friend and I split the chicken tidbits sandwich and the French onion soup burger. The chicken sandwich was great, but, the burger was UNBELIEVABLE! It was perfectly cooked, smothered in cheese and the onions were caramelized and full of flavor. Right then and there we made plans to come back again so we could each have our own. I really love this place (reminiscent of one of my other favorite local spots- Corner Galley in Massapequa) and the only reason it's 4 starts instead of 5 is because the service was pretty awful. Now, it was insanely crowded and it looked like they were understaffed so I understand, but every time we needed something we had to flag her down. She never bothered to come check on us. It took a good 30 minutes from getting our appetizer until we were able to get her attention to even just order our dinner. Regardless, we still had a great meal and will be back again for that amazing burger!

Our first time visiting Maier's Brick Cafe and it was wonderfully delightful. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the food is plentiful and delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient. Our experience exceeded every expectation, and we cannot wait to return for another of the restaurant's specials.

Great food and atmosphere! Definitely a neighborhood restaurant where everybody knows each other! Drinks were made to perfection and the food was really fantastic! My friend and I had the chicken tidbits with waffle fries and the french onion burger. The burger was really the shining star of the meal! We started off with a giant pretzel and the cheese sauce was awesome and spicy! Definitely make reservations if you're coming on a Friday or Saturday. We had to wait about 25 minutes for a table without a reservation. My one tiny complaint would be the service. Not the fastest service and very understaffed for a Saturday night. The waitresses and hostesses were super friendly and nice though so we will definitely be back!!

This restaurant is a nice little place with nice staff. My only issue is that the food was absolutely disgusting.

The Best Margherita Pizza Ever!…read more There are pizzas that are good, pizzas that are delicious, and then there is the Margherita pizza from Mangia Bene Italian Oven. In my opinion, this pizza is in a completely different category. From the moment it arrives at the table, you can tell that this is not just another ordinary pizza. It has that beautiful, classic Italian appearance that immediately makes you want to take a bite, and once you do, it is hard to stop. What makes the Margherita pizza so special is its simplicity. Instead of covering the pizza with a mountain of toppings, Mangia Bene lets the basic ingredients shine. The combination of tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil, and perfectly baked crust creates a flavor that is incredibly satisfying without being overwhelming. Every ingredient has a purpose, and together they create something that tastes much more sophisticated than a typical slice of pizza. The crust is one of my favorite parts. A great pizza needs a crust that has the right balance between crispiness and softness, and the Margherita pizza delivers that experience. The outside has that delicious baked texture, while the inside remains enjoyable and flavorful. It gives every bite a satisfying combination of textures instead of feeling like you're simply eating a piece of bread with toppings. Then there is the cheese. The mozzarella brings that creamy, rich flavor that makes Margherita pizza so comforting. When it is combined with the warm tomato sauce, you get that classic pizza taste that never gets old. The tomato adds just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, while the basil gives everything a fresh, fragrant finish. And that is really what makes this pizza stand out: balance. It isn't trying too hard. It doesn't need ten different toppings or an enormous amount of cheese to be delicious. The ingredients complement one another perfectly. You can taste the tomato, the mozzarella, the basil, and the crust individually, but they also come together as one incredible bite. I also love that Margherita pizza feels like a pizza that respects the tradition of Italian cooking. Italian food has always had a way of taking relatively simple ingredients and turning them into something memorable. Mangia Bene's Margherita pizza captures that feeling beautifully. It reminds you that sometimes the simplest foods are the ones that can be the most satisfying. Every bite makes you want another. You get the savory tomato, the creamy mozzarella, the aromatic basil, and that delicious crust all at once. It is the kind of pizza that makes you slow down for a moment and actually appreciate what you're eating. If someone asked me what pizza they should try at Mangia Bene for the first time, the Margherita would be at the top of my list. It is classic, flavorful, satisfying, and incredibly easy to love. Some people may have their favorite pizza somewhere else, but for me, Mangia Bene's Margherita pizza is hard to beat. It has everything I want in a pizza without unnecessary extras. It is simple, fresh, flavorful, comforting, and memorable. Five stars isn't enough. This is the kind of pizza that makes you say, "Wow, this might actually be the best pizza I've ever had." If you love classic Italian pizza, the Margherita at Mangia Bene Italian Oven is absolutely worth trying. One bite and you may understand exactly why I think it is the best pizza ever.

Worst rice balls any of us have ever had, slight soapy taste & the texture was awful. The meatballs didn't taste very fresh. Our chicken parm was okay but the pasta was way undercooked. Their doors will close on Sunday, July 26th 2026 to begin the transformation. I had to return on Friday, July 24th for the last official Happy Hour! It was bittersweet seeing the staff and the return of my favorite bartender Jay. The placed was packed with patrons like me who wanted to share memories of many good times spent here. The atmosphere and music was festive and the attitudes were as lively as the spirits being poured! In speaking with the staff, their enthusiasm for what lies ahead was infectious! We looked at some reviews and my uncle had eaten there a number of years ago and said the food was delicious. Was he right. I think it was undersold. Walking in, we were greeted immediately by a very nice hostess. When my wife said our name, the hostess asked whose birthday it was and wished me a very happy birthday. The floor is made of beautiful French tiles. There are the old looking mirrors that you think of when you imagine a French restaurant. We ordered some cocktails and wine. Everything was delicious. I didn't get pics of the appetizers. We ordered the mussels with white wine and garlic, hummus and Brussels sprouts. All were really good. The mussels were some of the best I have ever had. Sweet, fresh mussels, garlicky sauce. So good. There were 7 of us and everyone got something different. Everyone absolutely loved what they had. My mom's scallops were sweet, tender and flavorful. The pork chop was unbelievable. They changed the menu so I don't have the description. Might have been French onion soup. Sooo good. My beef Wellington was delicious. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, crusted in pistachios and came with greens and au gratin potatoes. Wow. The duck was melt in your mouth tender. We had 4 desserts to share. Chocolate mousse, pecan tart, Nutella crepes and apple bread pudding. They were all absolutely delicious. From the food to the service, everything was top notch. Our waiter and server assistant were great. It was pretty bright and the assistant closed the drapes. The waiter also noticed the table wobbled a tiny bit. He called over the assistant who fixed it immediately. No one had said a word. I can't wait to go back and try more!

From the outside, it's a very unpretentious looking establishment, but in the inside the food says it all. We began our meal by ordering one of the evening unique specials: artichoke hearts stuffed with chopped lobster, bread crumbs & smothered in a sublime lobster sauce. The dish consisted of 3 pieces, unfortunately, two of them were quickly devoured, and the photo only shows one piece. This delicious, and unique dish, was the opening act for what truly began a great meal at Joey's Bold Flavors. For entrees I ordered a melt in your mouth Pork ossobuco accompanied with a creamy broccoli rabe risotto, and grilled asparagus. The ossobuco was so soft & tender it just fell off the bone. I need to comment further on the broccoli rabe risotto. I've had risotto many times, but nothing as tasty as this combination. My wife had a delicious order of Chicken Parm w/angel hair pasta. She loved the dish, and commented that it was very tasty. It should be noted, that both entrees were very large portions, and can provide leftovers to be enjoyed the next day. Of course, we can never end a great meal without dessert. We always look to have something that is not the norm. After asking our waiter (by the way, who outstanding throughout) for suggestions, he suggested the house made tartufo. The dish consisted of pistachio ice cream, coated with pieces of chocolate & pistachios, and tasted as good and decadent as it sounds. A few last items of note: * There is a $42 daily, before 6 PM, prix fixe; * They have a BYOB policy, with no extra charge, although they do have a nice wine list along with a number of interesting cocktails; * They offered a 10% cash discount; * Finally, Joey is in constant motion, visiting tables to make sure all his patrons are satisfied. He's a charming individual who clearly has worked very hard to develop this fabulous and unique restaurant experience, and he and his restaurant deserve all the accolades it receives.
