I was trying to ship my dad's accordion to Salt Lake Ut. and was having no luck. The first two places I went to had no boxes large enough, the Packaging Store one of the places recommended went out of business, and all the places I tried calling either didn't have a box large enough or didn't answer the phone. I finally decided to just go to Home Depot and buy the box myself. Guess what? The largest box they have was 20x20x20 which still isn't big enough. I needed something on the order of 25x25x20. I went back to the internet and once again started calling places and came across Mail Stop. I was immediately impressed with how Raj--the new owner--was taking the time to ask about exact dimensions, weight, and explaining about shipping options, etc. After a short while on the phone I was sure he could help me (he had the box!) When I got there, Raj and the nice lady working the front desk were very friendly and talked to me about this instrument. When they learned it belonged to my father that passed away a few years ago, they took extra good care with the packaging. Raj did everything for me, wrapped the accordion in bubble wrap, taped that. Then boxed the wrapped accordion in packing peanuts with special styrofoam blocks to prevent the accordion from moving. Raj took a long time getting the packaging as good as it could possibly be. Our family has been using Mail Stop for years, and thru several changes of ownership. This new owner is in a word GREEDY. He charged me $2 to tape a box closed!! Who does that? There is a UPS Store at Snell and Blossom Hill and a FedEx at Santa Teresa and Blossom Hill. I'll gladly drive an extra mile or two to avoid this place in the future. Also be skeptical about the five star ratings that have been given lately. It appears that two or three five star ratings are given right after every one star rating. Every time I come in to drop off a package the owner is very rude and makes you feel like he is doing you a favor. If you don't want to accept packages for certain carriers maybe you shouldn't be an authorized carrier. Take your business to ups around the corner or fedex kinkos. I love this mail stop! The women who run it are so nice. I have a resume, copy writing and graphic design business and they let me put my flyer's up on their bulletin board. I also rent a box from them and they are really good about getting all my mail. I even have a key to get my mail at night if I want but usually I just go there everyday during their regular business hours. If your on a budget and need to rent a box, this is the perfect spot. Plus there is a Starbucks right there and I love to go there afterwords, read my mail and get some work done while enjoying a coffee... location...location... Everything about it is perfect for me including the price which is lower than anywhere else in town. I have been a customer of Mail Stop for several years, the current owner is so far superior to any of the previous owners. This is a difficult business to say the least and I have witnessed people creating scenes and making arguments over the most stupid things.... people if someone is offering a free drop off service for postal, and private carrier services that is the only part of it that is free.... why should you expect free shipping materials, pens, paper, tape or other goods/services that generally cost money.... and then complain if they are then not free. What is most disturbing is the level of disrespect that a "Non-Paying" free service user thinks they have the right to dish out to a store owner just because there are rules to follow to get the free service.... like putting mail in the mail location, UPS in the UPS box, FedEx in correct FedEx box... and NOT JUST THROWING IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR.... you want respect, try giving some. My first impression was eyes bugging out of the lady's head at the boxes I wanted to ship. I needed to ship something using DHL to a different country using the recipient's account number. The woman told me that she was not able to do that. I would have to go to Fremont. I called DHL corporate to see if it was something that is normal the woman on the phone seemed as shocked as I was that this employee would not help me. I then asked if I could leave some FedEx packages with her. I asked for a cart since most places have them. She rummaged in back but seemed annoyed. Came in here to drop off a pre-paid UPS package. The guy here tells me it will be a $1 charge. I told him it's prepaid and he told me it's a $1 charge. I laughed and left. I walked in to get some stamps......and this place has EVERYTHING!!!! clothes, office supplies, purses....probably canned food, bottled water, and emergency generators (ok, so i'm exagerrating, but you get the point). Terribly slow service. I called and made an appointment for notary public. When I arrived there was one clerk inside who was busy processing the mail for all walk-ins. He kept on telling me to have a seat at the notary public table and that it would take 3 minutes then he would help me. This went on for over 30 min. I hate it when people don't respect my time. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This owner, Mr. James Nallan, ran our employee's fingerprints incorrectly. When I called to talk to him, he began yelling at me refusing to re-do the fingerprints. I told him that the DOJ said that it was his fault and they couldn't accept the prints. He hung up on me twice yelling "I need to get paid!" I informed him that I had already paid $69 for the service, but he refused to complete it correctly or refund my money. I agree with the other post, he's definitely unstable! I have used Mail Stop before but I would like to reference my experience December 2016. I had to mail packages to many locations within the USA. This year I had several packages with unusual shapes and sizes that did not fit into a standard size box. The proprietor was able to make packing that was customized to these odd sizes instead of putting these articles in a over sized box. This saved me money. He also compared all the rates for various mail providers for the most economical. The second week in December I needed to fax several documents quickly. It was quick, easy and convenient. They also have scanning capability. I felt this service was reasonably priced. The proprietor is the only person working the counter. Usually there is no wait. The most I have had to wait was between 5-10 minutes during busy times. This small business is located within a shopping center and parking has not been an issue. Diane S read more

I signed up for their virtual mailbox service last year... it turns out this is another service they are white labeling... "anytime mailbox". This ended up being a nightmare. When I initially called to cancel, the person I spoke to said "ok" and took my name. No further direction. And no cancellation. When I called a month later and inquired about my cancellation since I was still getting credit card charges, I was told that was a mistake on their part and I should have been told to cancel through the website as it is a third party over which they have no control. I tried that and received a bounce error message for the cancel email. Note that over the next few months as I tried to get it cancelled, they kept accepting junk mail and storing it, and for 5-10 pieces of mail they were charging storage fees of over $200/month... for less than a pound of mail? Really? Next I contacted my credit card company for help and got as many of the charges disputed as I could... the first couple couldn't be as they were outside the 90 day dispute window. They recommended I ask the business owner to refund my money. I spoke with Raj and he insisted that it was out of his hands, he couldn't refund my money as it is a third party service. If so then why was he so concerned about chargebacks on his merchant account and begging me to get them reversed? Hmm something doesn't add up. He also kept trying to convince me to keep using this ridiculously expensive service when I was clearly extremely angry and done with it. He took no responsibility at all. Horrible experience.
