After I requested some sauce, I was brought garlic aioli sauce, which added flavor and moisture. The green drink called Shire was delicious and I really liked the foam. Menu items have unique and funny names. I felt a little like Alice in Wonderland, especially with the playing card on the table stand along with a note from a white rabbit. I will have to try different items on the menu because I love the warmth, sense of privacy and interesting surroundings of this restaurant. It was very relaxed and comfortable, and I will go back.

Although the woman behind the counter said she didn't make many cortados (even though they're on the menu), she said she'd give it a shot (see what she did there? ). It was tasty but had too much foam on top (cortados are equal parts espresso and steamed milk without foam), although now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't foam at all but simply the steamed milk bubbles rising to the top. Typically a cortado is served in a clear glass large shot glass but since they didn't have any of those, it was served in a small espresso cup. In any event, the drink was good and the bite-sized frosted mini doughnut was a perfect mouthful. I'd give them 5 stars if they had had a cortado cup, especially since it's actually on the menu, but overall, a charming place to stop for a pastry and a coffee. With several comfy nooks, tables for your laptop, live-edged wooden bars at the front windows, and a nice selection of pastries, I'd definitely come back here... and maybe next time they'll have cortado cups

Little did I know, this was part of Mount Angel Abbey Seminary. The lady behind the counter was also very nice. ~ As for the coffeehouse, it was a little room that overlooks the trail and forest at the back of the store. The tables were clean for the most part, and the lady that brewed our drinks was helpful and cordial as well. The bakeshop had a nice interior and overall very accessible. The person who helped with service was very nice and had a wonderful conversation about the teas in the shop.
