We came in for late night coffee and to play some backgammon on our anniversary night. The bistro was well furnished and nicely lit with friendly staff and not too busy on a weeknight. They have an impressive array of coffee drink recipes all in an homage to Silver Falls Trail of Ten Falls. I had the North Falls drink. They were exceptional and well priced. Their baked goods were okay but it was late in the day so probably not as good as when fresh. The atmosphere was nice but the staff was cleaning up and their back kitchen resounded so loudly with clinking dishes at times that I could not hear our conversation. I'm not really this picky but it was pretty loud! Would definitely come again morning or evening. Prices were as expected for specialty coffee and homemade goods. read more

Ordered breakfast take out - bacon was so overdone it'd break your teeth, nothing got any salt, the French toast didn't come with syrup, took ten minutes before anyone acknowledged my existence when going to pick it up. It's bad 'homeplace' in a nice building. read more

10/27/21: The wife and I decided a trip to Silverton was in order for breakfast. We have eaten at Main St Bistro before and it's been hit and miss. Unfortunately today it was a miss. My Chai latte was great as always. My wife ordered the French Toast and was surprised to find it didn't come with any sides for $10.50. I ordered an omelette for $12.50 which came with hash browns and toast. After about 15 minutes the waitress brings my wife's French Toast (3 small pieces) and asks, "is there anything else I can get you guys?" Um, my omelette. She looked surprised and said there was no omelette on the order. They quickly made my meal and brought it out. Omelette was ok, hash browns were undercooked and the toast was soggy. My wife's French Toast was just bread dipped in eggs. No flavor whatsoever. And if all that wasn't enough, they brought the bill, $36.75!!! I looked it over and noticed they had charged me twice for the omelette. So not only did they forget it at first, but now they wanted twice as much . I had them fix the bill, left no tip and most likely will not be back...... One last thing, they changed the menu and now only offer about a dozen items. Use to be twice as much. Wonderful place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is hot and delicious! I love the Chicken Fried Steak. The waitstaff are always friendly, welcoming and attentive. The restaurant is cute, comfortable and clean in an old building in downtown Silverton. The Baristas make the best coffees! It's a great place to hang out for coffee and dessert as well. Stopped here for lunch. I loved the atmosphere. It was clean, bright and comfortable. My husband had a Rueben sandwich made with turkey, and I had the Grilled chicken and pesto sandwich. Met here with my brother for lunch today at 12:00. Not too busy, nice and quiet........except when the blender is turned on to make a drink! Can we all say "sound control panels"? Anyway, sat down and looked at the menu...hmm..."Best Reuben in Town" is on the menu....well, I've had other alleged reubens (note the small caps) in this town so I'm all in, with steak fries. Food arrives, and not "love at first sight": bread is correct but SUPER THIN, which resulted in bread like a wet brown paper towel BECAUSE the sauerkraut they use was dripping wet. I felt shortchanged on the quantity of meat, which affected my feelings about the meat flavor; I need MORE in order to make an honest judgement. And then there's the puddle of sauerkraut juice under the plate. Anyway, "steak fries" were just regular French fries and not completely cooked which caused me to discover that they use frozen, not fresh. All that to say, "Not love at first bite either." Thanks for the memory, I won't be back.....I'm still looking for a great Reuben, somewhere........ Forgot to add that my brother ordered the chicken quesadilla. It arrived rather plainly with some sour cream and "white people" salsa......EXCUSE ME! Quesadillas are also served with guacamole! This place is laid back, comfortable and eclectic with plenty of tables. They have a variety of sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers here along with a standard selection of coffee drinks. There are some specialty drinks, ice cream treats and some rolls an pastries. While the service might be delayed at times, the attitude here is friendly for new patrons and regulars. We have always loved this restaurant. It was our go to place. However, with the pandemic we have stayed away from dining in but continued to order take out. We recently went there with friends for indoor dining for the first time and were so uncomfortable and disappointed as there was on that day no posting about mask requirements and there was a line inside waiting for tables and no one was masked in the line or at the tables. As I understand the mandate, masks are required indoors at restaurants except when eating. No one directed anyone to put a mask on. We were so uncomfortable and will not return. We will only go to places that follow the mandate to protect those of us who are immunocompromised. Only the staff had masks on this day. Not safe. read more

The coffee was bad (honestly have no idea how other reviewers are saying otherwise), and our drinks weren't put in "for here" mugs like we asked (we were hoping not to waste take-away cups and plastic). My husband and I ended up here at 7:45pm on Valentines Day. We were seated and handed menus and noticed that they had already started cleaning things up and then noticed that they closed at 8:00. We asked if it was ok to order so late and we were assured by two different lovely ladies that they absolutely wanted us to order anything on the menu. We had just left a restaurant that we had reservations at, but after sitting at our table and not even being acknowledged for 30 minutes we got up and walked out. I had the strangest encounter today. My friend and my family were greeted by the waitress and asked if we were dining in or getting something to go. We said we were dining in. She gestured toward a nearby table and said "you can sit there." She seemed angry with us. I asked about a different table that looked like it might have more room for a high chair. She acted put out and asked how many were in our party. I answered and she mumbled something about checking.
