We always have the pleasure of good service and the burgers are quite good. Fries are average. The shakes are rich and a sweet complement to either of the burgers I usually order. I prefer the mushroom burger or the jalepeno burger. Simply put, they have good food in a family atmosphere. They have a good selection of candy, some of which are hard to find. Never go to Dairy Freeze on a Saturday night. My two sons and I waited 10 minutes in line just to order and another 40 minutes for three milkshakes and a greasy basket of curly fries. The shakes were good but I would have never waited that long for any shake, no matter how good. The fries were comically swimming in oil. I would have returned them but in no way wanted to risk waiting almost another hour for horrendous looking and artery clogging fries. read more

Stuck in this little town.. nothing really to eat for a vegetarian. So walking down main street (yes thats the name of the street) and I run accross this old school looking restaurant. It's quaint but nice inside. It reminds me of the restaurants in New Mexico ... the ones that have the shitty little signs outside. Anyway, walked up.. they have a decent variation of burgers and fish items. But they have a huge selection of shakes and ice cream! Ordered the boca burger with curly fries with a default flavor shake. The service was very good... the food, well.... one of the best veggie burgers i've had in a while. It's a basic burger but have no idea what they've done to it cause I swear it tasted like a regular meat burger. The shake was good and a standard taste. Overall, if you end up in a town that looks like a twighlight zone episode and it happens to be called sumner and you're in washington and you don't anything with eyes, do check out Main St. Dairy Freeze.. highly recommended. read more

I had the ultimate deluxe burger and it was delicious. I'd highly recommend this place for their burgers. The fry sauce and tots were also great. Had not been to Dairy Freeze in a while. Walked on down with a val-u-pack coupon in hand. Could only use it on 1 hamburger combo( there were 4 of us), so we went ahead and ordered another combo with cheese, an onion burger and a kids combo. What we got was 1 combo, 1 deluxe with no cheese, a kids meal and an onion burger.Server was rude, we had to open the burgers to show her there really wasn't any cheese! We have gone to Dairy Freeze for many years and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.... not tonight! Small,thin burgers and the fries did not look or taste hand cut. Real disappointing. Just went there today and it was not very good! Not the first time I have gone there, I live in Sumner. My husband refuses to go there because there food is so expensive and not better than Jack in the Box. My burger was over done and dry. The will not let you sub anything in the meals! And they are just not really customer service friendly. The woman sitting behind me order cheese on hers burger and they forgot it, no big deal right? But they wanted to charge her the 50 cents still for their mistake and she had no cash on her. They wanted her to use her debit card! She finally dug out 40 cents in her purse. They should have just given it to her for free! The milkshakes are good! But they put them in no insulated clear cup! So they melt super fast. I think he needs to get new eyes on this place for management, especially in the customer service department! Oh and my fries were way over done too! Felt the need for a juicy burger & fries and have had good burgers here in the past. This time, NOT. Burger was half the size of the bun, dry and flavorless. For a deluxe burger, it had no lettuce, 3 small onion strips, 3 tiny pickles, small slice of tomato, no ketchup or mustard; mayo or special sauce looked like it had been wiped off (couldn't taste it) and the fries were soft & soggy and didn't taste fresh cooked (at least they weren't covered in salt). Don't think I'll be going back. Jack in the Box has much better burgers for half the cost. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go to this place because we both have wanted to try it for quite some time, we walk in the door, there's trash all over the table, and the floor is filthy. We order our food and go sit down. We came literally like 5-10 minutes before a huge flood of people came in, we watched two different HUGE families get their food before we got ours, we waited probably 30 minutes for two burgers and some French fries. This place is gross! First off as we were ordering she asks if we want cheese and then charges us 50 cents each. (You'd thinks getting a double deluxe would at least come with cheese) so we waited 15-20 minutes for our food, they brought us the food first and forgot our drinks. As we waited for our drinks we tried one of the fries and THEY WERE STALE!!! We asked for a refund and didn't take the food, she asked to just replace the fries but we just wanted our money back. was in sumner yesterday with my family. we were getting hungry, and saw this place as we were checking out this little town. I love old diner restaurants, and this place looked fun to us. however, the place is not what we had hoped for. very small dining room, and crowded...1 rest room, unisex, (uck) right next to our table. (nasty). The food prices are way to high for what you get and the quality is fair at best...took 20 min. to get our order. the fries are not the hand cut fries the sign says they, unless someone has a machine for a hand. they look just like typical in a bag frozen fries from the local store. The cheese burger arrived with just a cheap burger patty, and a slice of cheese, with a off the shelf bun...if you want anything on it, do it yourself. The place does loan itself to a small town feel, like so many I have visited in the past. My guess most of its business is from the locals, who just go there because they always have, for generations......but we shall not drive from auburn to eat there. read more

I came here with a good friend who lives in the area. I ordered the #1 Main St. Deluxe Combo which is a single burger with tomato, pickle, onion, added cheese & bacon, and substituted soda for a mocha shake! The burger was OK, and the fries were standard thin & crispy, but the mocha shake - it was the best! Will definitely come here again for a good shake when in Sumner! Quality & price is a little higher compared to other drive-in burger restaurants with seating. 2 stars for burger & fries, 4 stars for PB shake...overall average rating 3 stars. read more
