I was a regular at this location, however the attitude of the owner will ensure I will no longer be returning . A friend tagged along with their own food, while we planned to order ours. The hours were wrong on apple maps, and the owner rudely corrected us by telling us to go elsewhere, look the hours outside, and to not "dirty up his floors" with our friend's subway. While I understand that outside food may not be welcome, we did not plan on eating inside regardless, as me and my friend planned to grab a slice to go. The food was alright, but nothing to boast about. Compared to Linda's Riverside Pizzeria, and Gino's in Kings Park, those locations treat their customers with the upmost respect, with great quality food, and would never make their customers feel outright stupid over a silly mistake. After reading similar reviews, it is upsetting to have the owner of a local staple within this community be so rude to his regular customers, and I hope that the restaurant improves on its customer service expectations going forward, as it was an outright embarrassing outburst. read more

On my way to a friend's house and I was in the mood for pizza. Drove through town and found Main St Pizza Cafe. An unassuming pizza with dining room seating. I only wanted one slice of pizza, and I noticed that all the pizza was displayed in open air at the front counter. All the various pizza options had seemed to be there for a long time. I always said that I would never order one slice of pizza if it was sitting in a display. But I was hungry, and I wanted a slice of pizza now. Simple, a Pizzeria displays their pizza on their front counter with people faces looking down at the various pizza slice options. Does that sound appetizing? My bad, never again. Just buy an entire pie regardless of how long I must wait. Why? Leaving pizza out in open counters is unhealthy because it can lead to foodborne illnesses. This is not a reflection of the Main Street Pizza Café. The slice of spinach cheese pizza was particularly good. Owner was very rude. Maps listed closing time as 10, we come at 9, owner says they were closed, and was very rude about it. We brought in some subway we'd already bought, planning to get a lot of pizza to couple it, but the owner had to say "and you're bringing in subway and getting my floors dirty why not go back to subway". Mind you, we were going to buy pizza. We were planning to be customers. Unnecessarily rude! Maybe either change your store hours to the right ones so people aren't misleaded, or lock the door after closing. Would be much better than being rude. Stopped in after a soccer game with 5 of the ladies and our coach, who had called to let them know prior, that we were coming. The girl who helped us seemed extremely confused. Walked past us several times without saying a word and when we asked for drinks, she just gave a confused smile and walked away so we went to get them from the cooler. Then she brought over some plates and says "plates?" And puts them down in a pile. No napkins, nothing. Very ditsy, and without a clue. The first pie (not pictured) was thin crusted and crispy - delicious! But the second and third pies that came out were inconsistent. The second was super doughy and chewy. The third was somewhere in between. The flavor was great, not too garlicky, but could definitely taste the authenticity of it. If it wasn't for the first pie coming out how it did, I would have rated this place a 1. That first pie though? Yum Oh, and as I left I smiled at (assumed) owner and said thank u have a good night (as I always do) and he didn't acknowledge me whatsoever so that kinda killed it. 2 stars based solely on the taste of the first pie. UNTIL, I was informed (since I left ahead of everyone) that when they went to pay, the (assumed) owner ignored our coach for a while, turns and goes "yeah?" WHAT?? Lol I couldn't hold back a laugh when I heard that. We definitely could have just walked out without paying. One star, for the one good pie we got out of the three. The service here stinks. I have no complaints about this place. I order pizza a lot and their Zeppolis. I do order through Slice, but when they were out of gluten free crust they called and offered other options. Super friendly on the phone. Delivery is usually before the predicted time, so that's a plus. I've never actually been there but I do look forward to one of these days. read more

Move back to Chicago :) Going here for years - I have a food allergy to an herb typically in Italian food, but they use little to none in the plain pie/sauce. The deep dish slice was bland. The chicken in the chicken roll was actually great. However the sauce provided with it came across as store bought. Just think they need to revamp their sauce as it provides the main profile for 80% of their dishes. read more

I visited Edelweiss Deli across the street to stock up on food for a very long road trip. I then needed to use a bathroom to un-stock-up on other things prior to a very long road trip. Unfortunately, Edelweiss does not have a customer bathroom. When I entered Main Street Pizza, I was immediately overcome by the sass emanating from the two teenagers behind the counter. The gentleman tended thoughtfully to his phone, while the missus played with her shorts, which would be immodest even as pajamas. I was in a large hurry, and so rather than get into a debate about using the restroom, I decided to just get a slice. It wasn't bad at all. It was pretty greasy, but I liked the crust and they heated it up just the right amount. Given the need at the time, the bathroom was fantastic. And I still ate everything from Edelweiss. Room for improvement. I'd love to have this local pizzeria be better. For something with Pizza in their name, I'd expect that menu item to at least be worthy of ordering. At first bite, the flavor reminds me of the pizza I had in elementary school. My main issue with the pizza: it lacks flavor, or maybe just salt. Good crust, well executed, but no yummy factor and sauce has no depth. It's ok, but it's not my first preference. Garlic knots are also a dud for me. Baked well, and good texture, but cheap garlic flavor. Ingredients all seem fresh and quality enough, just a big disappointment for my taste buds. The house salad is beautiful and nicely prepared. Not a fan of Main Street's pizza. My wife ordered a regular pie tonight. It took almost an hour to get here, which is understandable considering it's a Friday night. The problem was with the pizza itself. I like a thin slice just like everyone else but when the pizza is so thin that it immediately falls over when you pick a slice up that's a bit too think in my opinion. To make the pizza worse the bottom of the pie was completely overcooked. It was so close to burnt. My wife and I ditched the pizza and went on to something else. read more

I love this place. Having moved from Huntington and lost little Vincent's I was pleasantly surprised to have found a thinner style pizza with good sauce here in town. Tried delivery once and it was fast and good. One reccomendation to the owner would be to have his workers look a bit tidier and cleaner. Couple of the guys look like they have been wearing the same clothes for days and it's a bit of a turn off when your being served food. Otherwise glad I gave it a chance. read more

Beware! Misrepresent what they sell. We ordered delivery and catering over a 5 year period. We were happy with only minor issues not worth mentioning... until now. Ordered a Grandma Pie which is advertised on their menu as 12 slices, 16x16 inch pie for $15.95. Was delivered as small 9 slice, 13x13 inch pie not big enough to feed our family. 3 slices were missing! Called and spoke to manager who treated me as if I was crazy to complain & said they only make 9 slice pies despite what menu & online menu states & no one has realized & complained before me. Shocking! Manager also stated owner was not there and I could not speak to him/her even though I asked for a call back. Feel they are being dishonest and manager is very rude to customers. We placed an order for takout pizza along with a couple other things. The order was ready on time which was a plus. The pizza was OK, not bad but not great. Chicken parm hero was pretty much the same, just OK, with the main problem being the lack of chicken on the hero. Baked Ziti wasnt baked, just ziti with cheese on it. Garlic knots were OK as well. I ordered 2 pies recently took an hour and a half to show up. 1 was fine the second was destroyed, not cheese stuck to lid of box or slide. 4 slices were folded in 1/2 and looked stepped on. I called the young lady put the owner/manager on the phone. I tried(and I stress tried) to explain the situation he immediately cut me off and told me they would send another pie out at sometime , he was too busy to listen.
