Bro! Today i went in to Main St to get my family some lunch. The counter woman didnt see me walk in because she was wiping down the tables outside. She walked in, stood by the door picking her ear knuckles deep and rolling the earwax in her finger tips. Turns around and says 'oh i didnt see you, how can i help you?' Turns around and darts directly for the bagel that i choose. WITHOUT even thinking about washing her hands. Dirty rag and ear wax freshly dripping from her finger tips. I felt bad but i had to ask her to wash her hands first. SO, she went ahead and dabbed a bit of hand sanitizer on her hands and went on to massage my bagel sandwich! I asked for green onions and black olives on the bagels, but there were only eight small slices--four on each half of the bagel--and just a tablespoon of green onions. Very upsetting and complete rip off. I ordered a pastrami sandwich on a bagel and I didn't even have enough meat to cover half my bread! They filled it up with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, and no meat for $17. I had their breakfast sandwich and it's very plain, so I decided to try out their sandwiches, that was a complete disappointment. I don't recommend people eating here. Is $7 expensive for a single bagel with cream cheese? I rarely buy bagels so I don't know. What I DO know is that the two times I've gone here, I've gotten the weirdest vibe. The woman behind the counter is nice enough but is super passive/aggressive. I was there the other day and as soon as I walked in, she asked me if I wanted to "get something to-go?" The undertone of which seemed to be, "we don't want you eating here." Then, she asked me if I'd like a dozen bagels and chuckled when I said I only wanted one. Then she asked me what I wanted to drink, and chuckled again when I said I didn't want anything. When I gave her my card to pay for the bagel, she frowned at me and asked, "You don't have enough cash?" (Btw, they charge a fee of $.85 to run your card.) Then she hands me my bagel wrapped in paper and asks me if I need a bag for it. None of this stuff is a big deal but it certainly doesn't make one feel welcome or well-served for that matter. The feeling I get from this place is that they want as much money as they can get out of you, while providing the least amount possible. Actually pretty surprised by all the low reviews on here. Typically when our team is down in Watsonville working out of the client site, one of us will stop by Main Street Bagel in the morning to grab a dozen bagels on our way down. Without exception, the ladies behind the counter have always been very friendly and efficient at getting my 2 dozen assorted bagels. They have a variety of bagel flavors to choose from, all nicely labeled on the glass case in front of their respective bagel for ease of choosing. A nice selection of different cream cheeses are available for you to grab in the fridge to the right, as well as a selection of refrigerated drinks. If you want toasted options, simply peruse the menu board up top for your options. The ladies work very efficiently and have always been able to process everyone very quickly. My only surprise, which is not a big issue, is that instead of boxes for the bagels, they will toss them all into a brown paper bag. Which does make finding a particular type of bagel inside the lot a bit difficult at times. read more

Not sure if this location is affiliated w/ the one in San Jose but the same friendly service surfaced. Asian owners, possibly Vietnamese but I didn't bother to peel the onion. I had a hankering for bagels. End result: jalapeño and cheese bagel, onion bagel, and whole wheat blueberry bagel plus a jalapeño cream cheese container for me, myself, and I. Also bought my little one a croissant. Great reward after a 4 mile run! I can't complain. Bagels aren't diet friendly and they're dense but full of flavor. But this place is terrible especially when you are ordering Togo or on a delivery app. They do not follow directions and you ask for anything extra that you pay for they don't even put what I think would make something even worth eating. OMG! Best bagel ever! On my way out of town the other day I was craving a bagel so we stopped into the place for a quick bite. There was a lot of choices but I settled on a Jalapeno bagel with Jalapeno Cream Cheese. It was so damn good! The Cream Cheese is unlike anything I've ever had, it was super creamy and squished out the sides from every bite prompting me to slurp up the delicious goodness. The cream cheese was full of giant chunks of jalapenos that were a bit spicy but not overwhelming. The bagel itself was toasted perfectly and nice and gooey in the middle filled with chunks of tasty jalapenos just like I like em. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area! read more

We almost always make a stop here when in Capitola. We enjoy the variety of bagels and cream cheeses, and the people are always friendly. The bagels are of a slightly different texture/consistency than some others--not bad, just different than, say, a Noah's. Chewier. Which may not be to everyone's taste, but we enjoy it when we're in town. read more

Came home to toast them and could barely get a serrated knife through-that should have been the first clue. What a waste of butter and cream cheese-it didn't complement the cardboard texture and flavor of what was supposed to be onion and jalapeño/cheese. The staff was completely disengaged. When I walked in, there were 3 people behind the counter, (no one else the shop) and they looked at each other like "who drew the short straw" certainly not the one who was stuffing her face and couldn't even be bothered to even muster a greeting. They were busy and didn't even call out the orders when they were done, they just sat them on the counter and moved on to the next order.
