The family went out to Grand Rapids, Ohio to explore the Metroparks and see Ludwig Mill. We were so hungry that we could eat the heiny of a skunk without any salt. But, what is family to do in an area we know nothing about? YELP IT OF COURSE! I love counting on my fellow Yelpers to find a good place to eat. Y'all didn't let me down. Huron is a TINY little town. Blink and you might miss it. It may be tiny, but it is beautiful. I see the charm for sure. Located on the other side of the tracks (this isn't a euphemism folks) is this little gem of a bar. I was initially hesitant on stopping in because lots of small town taverns are not family friendly. I initially left my humans in the car to go in and scope the place out. To my satisfaction, it was definitely family friendly. The bartender let me take the menu out to the car to ensure the little humans were copacetic and amiable. Once we were all on board (reminder: we were starving....so it wasn't hard) in we went. This place is much larger than the outside would lend to you thinking. Not only is it large, but this place is super clean! It also had plenty of seating and pretty cool decor. Most taverns are dark and dingy looking.....more about getting drunk and watching sports. And while this tavern will lend to both of said things being accomplished, it doesn't look like a dungeon. Plenty of light and nice and open. They have a HUGE selection of beers. Plus, they offer you to taste whatever you would like. The menu is definitely one that thinks outside of the box. It is not just fried stuff with sides of french fries. Lots of unique sandwiches and appetizers. AND you can sub the fries out for sweet tater fries, steamed veggies or soup for $2 more. I LOVE THAT OPTION. The bathrooms are clean and the kitchen is open so you can see in (and it is clean as well). We ordered the following: 1) 18 wings: 6 BBQ, 6 hot garlic parm and 6 dry rub ranch. The wings were medium in size, nice and crispy and they put plenty of sauce on. The hot garlic parm was nice and spicy...just the way I like it. The BBQ was a perfect blend of sweet and tang and the dry rub ranch was really really good. Reminded me of the ranch packets you mix with sour cream to make dip. They do not charge extra for ranch sides nor do they charge for celery. This makes me very happy! 2) Breakfast burger: You can tell these burgers are handmade. They are beefy, not at all greasy and thick. NICE AND THICK! The egg was cooked perfectly....once you broke the yolk, it made a yummy sauce. Their applewood smoked bacon could be a little thicker, but it had great flavor. It was served with a side of these AMAZING hot n sweet pickle chips. The bartender brought out extra and didn't charge for that either. I could make those things a meal. Instead of fries we got steamed veggies. Lemme say, I was SHOCKED the steamed veggies were so good. They were cooked perfectly. 3) B.L.A.T. sandwich: The traditional BLT with added avocado. The bread was thick, grilled Texas toast with 3 slices of the applewood bacon, tomato and avocado. This sandwich was a little underwhelming. Definitely could have used more bacon and the avocado was brown.....not disgusting, but not fresh. I wouldn't order this sandwich again, but it wasn't horrible. 4) Top Shelf Margarita: This drink cost me $8.50 and I gotta say, I felt ripped off. It was just.....ok. Definitely light on the Patron and the flavor was really just off. I am a huge margarita lover (half Puerto Rican) and this was a huge let down. I know this place is known more for their beers (which they had a HUGE selection of) but I still think this could have been done better. All in all, this place surprised me. BIG TIME! I wouldn't have expected a small town tavern to be this nice. If I were back in the area, I would stop back and try different things. But, this isn't a food trip worthy place. What a gem for a small town. They are doing things right! read more

These burgers were so tasty we went back a second night. This trip was even better than the first. We both got the uncle this time and it was the best tasting bacon aioli I've had. We have been here several times and never disappointed. The menu selection is varied, the beer offing is extensive and the service is great. We also take visitors here knowing they will enjoy it. Not nearly as good as the other reviews suggested. "Aggressively mediocre" to quote my husband. The chicken bites appetizer was really good, super juicy! My burger was dry and overcooked. My husband got a sandwich, menage a trois. It was fine. Neither of us finished our meals, but neither felt the need to take the leftovers home. Came here for dinner on the first night of our two day vacation to Cedar Point. The interior is rather dark and when we walked in we didn't see any instruction on whether we should seat ourselves or wait for a hostess. There were two workers there and it appeared they were managing both the floor and the bar. Therefore, my husband and I sat ourselves down. It took several minutes for one of the workers to come over and provide us with a menu. It turns out, it was trivia night so they had that going on. I guess it was ok but my husband and I probably wouldn't have come here at we known this was happening previously. However, the crowd wasn't obnoxious or anything like that so it was ok. Beers were cold and good. I had the hangover burger and thought it was extremely bland but the sweet potato fries were excellent. I believe my husband had the hot and spicy burger which he liked. My son had the house burger but didn't finish it. Prices were moderate. Overall- the place was just OK. I wouldn't be in any hurry to come back. read more

I'm a huge fan of Cuban sandwiches and was pleased to see this on the menu. I've had some good ones and I've had some awful ones. Main Street Tavern has a good one though not great. The pulled pork and ham were very good but overall the sandwich needed a bump in quantity; especially the mustard and pickles. The fries are mediocre and similar to "any bar in America frozen option" albeit with a decent seasoning. Service was ok but I'm sure this overblown Covid stuff is just bringing everyone to their wits end after nearly a year of two weeks to flatten the curve. In the end though, I'm intrigued to try other menu options and look forward to it. read more

Our first time in Ohio we happened across this bar. What a great place! Amazing tap and bottle micro brews. Jamie the owner knows so much about beer and is incredibly nice. We went to eat early both nights with kids and everyone was incredibly kid friendly from staff to others at the bar coming to eat and drink....very family friendly. Great looking bar on the inside and you can actually hear each other talk. Unlike many bars, everything is cooked great and the varieties of burgers are so yummy. The kids food was great too. While visiting family over the holidays we stumbled upon this gem. We went there for the first time for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Modern decor, awesome service and great food. The Bloody Mary with jalapeño vodka was out of this world. We had a Super juicy burger with a pretzel roll and fried pickles that also came with fried jalapeños ! All of the food was fresh and delicious. Needless to say we ended up dining there 3 times before we left. He came back and said corn flour whatever that is. So I asked if I could have a taco salad and he looked at me and said no.
