When I called about our 33+ year water heater possibly going out, their sales manager, Tom, quickly asked me to send him pictures. Upon doing so on 31 December, Tom initiated a call to the owner Miguel who intern let us know he would be out the next morning to replace our water heater. It is professionals like this that make home repairs less stressful. Miguel showed up the next morning and had that water heater replaced in around two hours. He even went above and beyond by replacing our flex lines and hot water valve. He even took extra time to secure the venting system to the ceiling, which had been improperly installed before adding value to our property. My toilet was leaking from the original supply line installed in the 90's. I had called around to get a couple estimates. While Mainline was a little higher, the kind gentleman on the phone had me send him pictures of the needed repair and said he could get a tech out to within an hour... Awesome! The others had a couple days wait. Tech arrived and took a look at the toilet for a split second then told me it would be a totally different price. After telling him to kick rocks and letting him know what his company had quoted me and what other companies had quoted me, ($150 less) he changed his tune and moved forward with the repair and original quote. He wore his sunglasses in the house the entire time, even while discussing repairs with me, which I felt was disrespectful. Overall, I am happy with the repair... Mainline is wonderful! We had an extremely high gas bill and were told from an inspector at PG&E that we had a slab leak going on. So I sought out a plumber and Miguel contacted me and was able to get me an appointment for the next day. Miguel and Carmelo came out, in the time window we were given, and they were able to tell us in 5 minutes that we didn't have a slab leak. Miguel was great at showing us all of his findings and explaining everything to us in an understandable manner. They inspected the water heater and heating unit just to be sure there wasn't a gas leak going on. They were very honest and didn't try to solicit any unnecessary testing or work. The receptionist at Mainline Plumbing was able to connect me with a knowledgeable person who was able to answer all of my questions and scheduled a plumber to come out the next morning. Joey and Miguel showed up within the scheduled time, wearing masks, and proceeded to fix my problem. They drained and hauled away my 45-year-old rusting piece of junk and installed a shiny new high quality water heater. Was looking for a remedy of water waisting waiting for the hot water to to come out of the kitchen faucet. It literally had to run almost two minutes before warm/ hit water would clear the line. I called Mike to explain the problem and he suggested a circulating pump that is attached to the hot water heater. Problem fixed. Hot water in less the 5 seconds. All the other faucets in the house( 3 bathrooms. 2 showers) were affected as well. Would suggest calling Mainline if anyone else is having the same problem. read more

We had a well-worn Moen shower valve that wouldn't turn on. We called Mainline Friday and scheduled a Monday a.m. appointment. Tony showed up, on time and ready to tackle our shower problem. Somehow he was able to turn on the valve!!! His first thought was to remove the valve and oil it, thinking it could be salvaged. After inspecting the corroded guts of the valve, we agreed it did need to be replaced. How great it that! We so appreciate a team that tries to find the most economical approach to a situation. We also have a septic tank problem so we asked Mainline ahead of time to bring a camera to check out the line. Tony brought the camera but after learning that we didn't have an exact location of the tank, the camera wouldn't give us the information about the health of our septic system. This is another example where Tony could have charged us with running the camera down the line, not locating the issue and charging us anyway. We would not have been the wiser. I'm telling you, an honest plumber is a gem! Mainline is our go-to for any plumbing problem...big or small. Nice touch: Mainline texts you plumber information before the appointment. I couldn't decide whether to give one star or two. I did like the fact that they were able to send someone out quick on a saturday, however he only assessed our problem and could not fix it right away. We had a water pipe leak which requires removal of the cement. Understandable that is a big project. We were told they would be back on Monday. I work nights and sleep during the day. However, I stayed awake all day waiting for the guy to show up. Nothing. My husband called Monday night and said they would contact me Tuesday. After waiting a while Tuesday morning, (still working nights) I finally called them. I was told they would get back to me later that afternoon. Haven't heard from them since. I dont have time to sit around and wait, so we went with a different company. They did send me a text this morning asking to rate their service....what service??? If they were waiting on a part, they should have called to provide an update. If they were waiting on the guy to return, someone should have called with an update. If it was a project too big for them, they should have been upfront about it. Keeping customers in the dark is not good service. read more

Our 22 year old water heart sprung a leak. At first we thought it was a valve but we were wrong. In hindsight we recalled how long it was taking to get hot water, etc. so we said goodbye and let the professionals do their thing. Have had Mainline called out by AHS a few times and have appreciated Kelly and his work. This last time, he couldn't solve the issue but gave me some things to look for and asked I give him a call back. I called back a week later after I saw one of the "triggers" only to get a rude call operator bypass anything Kelly requested and blow me off telling me that I had to go back through AHS. Frustrated, I called him out on his poor service and hung up. He promptly called back and told me to go to a different company and hung up. Now perhaps I didn't handle it the best way.
