Walked in around 8:30pm, craving a pastry. Definitely found the right spot. What stood out to me was a sign that said "French Butter croissant". The owner graciously explained all their pastries (pain au chocolat, crossiant, etc) are made from french butter and french chocolate and that no other bakeries really use french butter. He said there r only 2 truly french bakeries in SF and 1 in Oakland and one here which is his own bakery. I bit into the pain du chocolat and it was deeelicious. I love all the layers in the crossiant and a hard crunch with delicious chocolate in the middle. So flaky and buttery. Wow we went back for another so i can enjoy one for breakfast. Thank u Elie for the great insights and pastries!! Made my night :)
I got a chance to try some of the pastries from Maison Alyzee because some were brought into work. I tried the savory pastry which was had ingredients similar to that of a pizza. The pastry was flakey and buttery. The chocolate Croissant was just as buttery and flakey with a sweet chocolate filling. I am looking forward to visiting the bakery and check it out personally now that I sampling of what they have to offer.
I came by the Chinese bakery but they were closed. Maison Alyzee was next door and had no line. It was the first time I could go in easily and see a full line of desserts they had. I love desserts and the French are number one in that category. I came from Yutori after buying so much that I squeezed in Madison's dessert, Padova Mandarin Yuzu. The clerk said it needs to refrigerate promptly or else eat right away. I had no choice but to stop by the library's park and eat that along with my tuna egg sando from Yutori. The Yuzu dessert was cool and refreshing. It's good to pair with tea. I'll have to come back and try more desserts. They all look so good to try.
Came by for some pastries the other day and it was a decent experience. After spending some time in Paris where bakeries are on every other street corner, I had high hopes! Their desserts looked great and were rather pricey, compared with Paris. The quality of the pastries were ok, although the ones in Paris were much much better. Staff were friendly and cordial.
Had try their seasonal pastries. They were so delicious they didn't disappoint. It was busy Sunday they was friendly and quick with their service. Always beautiful and always magnificent.
OK spot for a sweet treat! We had dinner prior at Doppio...so by the time we got around to Maison, they only had a limited variety available. Nice ambiance inside, with some seating.
Downtown Mountain View is a great area to window shop and walk around to try new spots. I was able to drop by Maison Alyzee because of their pastries. I recommend knowing what you want before getting in line since you pick out pastries on the spot. The workers were super friendly and quick to pack our order. They were sweet to also helped us set up a table (outdoor seating)! We ordered the Passiano, Coffee Eclair, Matcha Raspberry, Lemon Tart, and Pistachio Cake. All of the desserts were yummy and easy to share. I definitely recommend the Matcha Raspberry. I would visit again and try other pastries!
We Ordered this to go, and it was a treat; I personally loved the pistachio tart; and my husband loved their coconut pineapple tart and chocolate passion. They were all sweet, and rich, but delicious for a once in a while indulgence treat. The chocolate for me was 4/5; super unique Coconut pineapple tart was 3.5/5 Pistachio 5/5 but it's rich and heavy! Overall great spot
Beautiful ambience and lovely desserts. Tried the pistachio cake and it was delicious. The matcha one was just okay but will surely be back to try the others as they all looked very pretty.
I finally stopped by this bakery after dinner after passing by so many times and am glad I did! Overall, if you are looking for a spot that serves high quality desserts that look fancy, this is a great option. The interior is small and gives a Parisian aesthetic and would be a cute spot to grab a coffee and pastry with a friend. Matcha Raspberry: as someone who doesn't like desserts too sweet, I really enjoyed this. The matcha cake was really moist and light at the same time. The raspberry jam was super tart and thus some might think it was overpowering in comparison to the matcha, but I did think it was a nice punch. The matcha cream on top was my favorite. It was super light and surprisingly had a strong, deep matcha flavor. This was my favorite of the 3. Coffee eclair: I thought that this would be my favorite as a coffee lover but it fell a little flat for me. The cream smelled more strong in coffee flavor than it actually tasted. The pastry was also a bit dense and soft, which was probably attributed to the time of day so I don't fault them for that. I would be willing to try this again but overall it wasn't my favorite. Tiramisu: I love tiramisu but admit that it can be very rich and too sweet at times but I was so surprised with this one. The best description for it was that it was very light in texture (almost cloud like) which was definitely welcomed. It also wasnt too overpoweringly sweet. I do wish that the coffee flavor was more pronounced. It mostly just tasted a lot like chocolate and cream. Be careful of the cocoa powder in top though! I definitely almost choked . This was my second favorite. I would definitely be interested in trying out their other desserts and look forward to that in the future :)
My daughter is visiting from Seattle, and she and my niece and I went to dinner in downtown Mountain View last night, and my niece wanted to purchase dessert items for us afterwards. Wow! Not only was it very busy at 6 PM on a Friday night, but the staff was super friendly, and they brought our items to our table outside. We cut everything in thirds. The Signature Chocolate Tart was very dense and fudgy and had a very fine layer of crushed hazelnuts that you really couldn't see but you could could enjoy the texture difference. A tiny flake of gold on top really made it classy. The Lemon Custard Tart was beautiful. Very light, not too sweet, and had a beautiful lemon tang which we all loved. A nice thin crust as well. The Pecan Cinnamon Roll was nice, but it was a tad on the dry side. It was thick and the top was sticky and yummy, but I feel like the interior could've been a little bit more moist. Maybe put some of that sticky stuff in there, lol! All in all, it was wonderful and we will be back.
TLDR : Amazing collection of wonderful desserts! Maison Alyzee has been our go to for amazing desserts In the bay. Just love all their items and hard to go wrong with the choice here! 100% recommended!
It's pretty rare to find a café in this area that stays open late, so I really appreciate their hours. Most places around here close surprisingly early -- sometimes as early as 4 or 6 p.m. -- so it's nice to have somewhere you can still go in the evening. The pastries are absolutely beautiful, almost too pretty to eat. Everything is carefully made and displayed, which makes choosing just one so hard. There's a calm, peaceful atmosphere, and time seems to slow down here. It's such a cozy, comfortable place to relax.

Disappointed at this price point $12, Le Vanille Mille Feuille was not freshly made. As I was eating it, the pastry was soggy and chewy making the experience very disappointing. read more
What's not to like about a French patisserie. They have lots of amazing cakes and desserts to try. We got a chocolate tart and a Paris Brest. The chocolate tart was too good; it had all the wonderful chocolate goodness in it. If you are a chocolate lover, don't miss this. Paris Brest was like a ferrero rocher in a cake. Both items were pretty good. Price, as expected, was on the higher end. Has limited indoor seating. read more

Giving it a 4 star ONLY because the vanilla latte was very bitter no taste whatsoever. I do prefer my coffee slightly on the sweeter side. Not to my liking at all. On the other hand the pastry's tasted phenomenal. And the aesthetic and atmosphere was super cute maybe next time I come I will ask for recommendations on sweeter coffee on their menu. Maison Alyzee is a wonderful pastry shop to stop by. The counter is a feast for the eyes. The pastries lined up are so beautiful and delicate. Service is kind and knowledgeable of the pastries. Coffee Eclair: So sad but I give this a 3/5 because the choux was soggy! A soggy eclair is the worst and is what makes or breaks an eclair. However, the coffee filling and chocolates on top were beautiful. Most pastries I've had are usually a hit. Next time I would go for the other pastries that don't have a risk of being soggy. read more

Place feels like a French cafe and staff are very friendly. Plenty of French pastries and cakes to choose from that are not as high end as Alexanders but higher than Paris Baguette (slightly ironic?), but be aware that the price of the pastries weren't visible or not visible when I came so was surprised at how much each pastries came out at the end. Quality of the pastries was great, especially for the cakes but the only downside was the Kouign Amann. This pastry I've had plenty of times before at many other bakeries but here was pretty stale or too much sugar. Other than that, a decent place to visit if I was craving French pastries and breads. I recommend those to at least give it a try for first time if anything. read more

I came here for a Sunday brunch after going to the farmers market and it did not disappoint! I got two cakes, mojito and chocolate raspberry and they were both so good and not too sweet! I love how soft the cakes were and they didn't feel too heavy. Paired along the cakes I got a cappuccino and it made the perfect pairing. I also got the croque madam which was served on very soft bread, but it wasn't the most rememberable, I would skip this and only do pastries next time. read more

I saw lots of people eating at this place. Most of the tables were occupied. Their pastries aren't too sweet; just the way I like them. Alexander's Patisserie across the street was a bit sweeter but better decorated and presentable. I gave this place a 4 because of my wait time. I stood 1st in line there for a while, then, was ignored for service. Good thing the guy behind me who just arrived told the cashier that I was there before him. I have my doubts about returning though due to the service. read more

I have died and gone to patisserie heaven. This place is amazing. It's kinda pricey but this guilty pleasure is worth it! The pastries are so beautifully decorated and they are amazingly delicious. My favorites are the Passiano cake and the pistachio desserts. I need to come back to try the mojito pastry. read more

Service was good, the store was very neat and cleanly. My favorite item out of all would have to be the tiramisu. I was a bit diss appointed in their eclair though. The pastries are quite expensive for the size, but I see the value in the time they spend crafting them. read more

Popular bakery in Mountain View. Ordered the lemon tart for my husband and the matcha cake. The matcha cake was delicious, with the egg white cream topping, strawberry/ raspberry jam on the inside , and matcha cake on the outside. Lightly sweetened. Not too sweet. read more
Sadness... I had such high hopes for this place given the name of the restaurant and hearing they brought in french pastry chefs. Wonder if they also brought in the Parisian service concept as well? For some reason when we went in - they had two people behind the counter - they both saw us - neither acknowledged us while we browed the choices. Had to go up to the register and wait till ONE of them FINALLY acknowledged us and asked if we needed help. NO DUH! Why do you think we are there? Anyway - we then had to walk her back to the FRONT of the food case to show her what we wanted. We got their plain croissant, almond croissant and kouign amann. We also got the mini pies - the pecan, pumpkin and apple (this was before Thanksgiving so it was the seasonal pies). First let me start by saying - the croissants were very UNDERWHELMING. They were not memorable and we've definitely had better! Their kouign amann I realized after if flipped the other way looks like your typical kouign amann but they had a sticky sugary goo on the bottom hence it was provided up side down. That goo was awful. Too sweet, too sticky. It think it was to make up for the lack of buttery flakiness that kouign amanns usually have. Where they made up on stars was their little pies though their pricing deducted a star. Their pies were delicious. The pumpkin pie was light and while my hubby LOVES pumpkin pie and I the pecan - I have to say I loved the pumpkin at this place. Their pecan was typical - the crust was really good but I have to ask - was it work $11? And the pumpkin and apple were $12 each. Apple was good - so overall all their pies were pretty good but $35 for three little pies? They were good but that's a bit steep... And of course the lack of service really soured us. Especially when we were leaving they warmly greeted and walked up the customers that just entered. Not making a judgement call but am wondering if hubby and I were not of their "standard" or "clientele"? read more
Maison Alyzee offers a variety of desserts and pastries which I truly enjoyed. While it's a little steep on their price point (starting $10 and up), but I could tell they used quality ingredients. I mostly enjoyed their desserts because they weren't overly sweet, and had the right balance. Their mango dessert was filled with mango chunks inside, a mix of sweetness and tartness. The caramel hazelnut "cake" was also delicious. The wafer added a crunchy texture, making the dessert even better. read more

I came here with daughter and we've gone back a few times because everything we've tried has been delicious! You can tell that everything has been made with care! These are beautiful pastries and I was so excited to try them.. and though they were generally tasty.. im a value girl and the price and the taste only brings me give 3 stars. Run not walk to Maison Alyzee since they have the most amazing Apple and pumpkin pie. I had seen this seasonal item in both this location and their Burlingame location, and it is always the first thing to be sold out. The crème they put on top perfectly complements the taste of apple, and pies are in perfect size to enjoy this fall desert. I wish they would do other seasonal pies in spring or summer. read more

- located on castro street (blocked off road with lots of restaurants) - classy/french inspired interior and outdoor seating - order your pastries at the counter and take them to go or take a seat - usually has a small line, but moves quickly since service is fast - 100% pistachio (5/5): no wonder they named this 100% pistachio because the pistachio flavor in this is insane. there's definitely no artificial flavoring and it tastes more like a pistachio than a pistachio does! the textures of the mousse and chocolate and pistachio butter blend together really well, and i would definitely come back just to get this pastry - strawberry basil pavlova: can't really give this a fair rating since i found out i don't like pavlovas lol. the cream was super soft and fluffy, but tasted like i was eating a basil leaf. definitely overpowered the strawberry - pink lady (3/5): earl grey chantilly and fruit compote paired well together, though i wish there was more chantilly. the choux was also pretty soft - harmony (4/5): super decadent, and the praline added a really nice crunch - i love pastries, and especially pretty pastries so i would come back haha! they are definitely on the pricey side as they typically are at patisseries, but they have a good combo of classic pastries and more interesting flavor combinations read more

100% pistachio is my favourite! There is always a big choice of desserts, whether you walk in on the weekend or a week day. The stuff is very welcoming and friendly. Every time I ask about the ingredients- i get a full description. One little wish: it would be great to have the utensils in the bag when ordering for to go rather than asking for it every time. read more

Their pastry is top notch, especially their almond croissant. If I have extra to enjoy it on site, I will ask them to heat up the almond croissant for me. Highly recommended. read more

Had their Parisian sandwich today. Enjoyed the relaxing ambiance inside and the sandwich was pretty tasty with butter, ham, and cheese. It came with a salad which was also nicely dressed. The service was also really great. We were a bit indecisive but the staff were patient with us and gave my daughter a free macaron. Will definitely be back! read more
Love the concept of this place! Reminds me a lot of Mademoiselle Colette for the pastries and coffee menu and Alexander's Patisserie for the cakes, but then somehow felt a little Paris Baguette-y to me. Almond croissant: felt like it had been out all day before reaching me. Not the best almond croissant, but a decent one. Nothing notable here. Chocolate cake slice: this was amazing! It had chocolate mousse, chocolate cake, a small layer of crunch. The description online is different than the description in the store though. I thought the textures and the flavors were perfect, and this was a heavier dessert but I didn't feel like it was overly sweet, and it didn't make me feel gross after eating it. Hazelnut hot chocolate: I missed the memo. It doesn't indicate anywhere that this is EUROPEAN hot chocolate, which is a very thick, almost solid (very viscous) texture. It was like warmed Nutella, both in consistency and in flavor. For $7, I wish I had a heads up that it wouldn't be the milky, runny, liquidy version. Oh well. Maybe a sign would help curb expectations or possibly inspire more people to try the drink. read more
Yes, it's quite pricey, but everything we've had here has been impeccably prepared, looked beautiful, and has tasted wonderful. So we don't view this as overpriced, but priced to a very high standard of quality. If the pricing is fine with you, enjoy as often as you like. If it seems high and doesn't quite fit your budget, then treat yourself from time to time and enjoy the indulgence. Either way, I think it's good to have choices all along the price and quality spectrum, and this happens to be on the pricier side. read more
Okay! For all you almond croissant connoisseurs, Maison Alyzee needs to be on your must-visit list. Comparison: Almond croissants are my go to pastry. I've eaten hundreds, if not thousands, for research purposes. This almond croissant crushes the famous Bouchon Bakery in Napa/Yountville and my local bakery Upper Crust in Davis should be embarrassed. The almond croissant was flaky. It was almondy. It had so many layers. And the unique thing that's worth the visit and separates this from all others ... it was buttery. Usually the buttery thing is reserved for plain croissants, but not here. Absolutely delicious. 5 stars! Can't wait to come back. read more
