We booked Catamaran after seeing the Catamaran at Infinity Edge Pool in Sheraton. We didn't know that the booking area is on the side of Sheraton. We booked online. Nevertheless, we were anle to book for the following day at 1pm. $6 for Maitai. $5 for beer. $3 for soda. The captain is awesome and so is the assistant? Both of them took care of us. Basically, you go out in the ocean/sea for 90 minutes. On the way back, we did see a turtle but it was quick. Definitely enjoyed the scenery. If you want to get wet, sit in the front. However, you may still get wet anywhere you sit. Definitely a great experience. Will definitely do this again. read more

Dustin and Kiah, you both are so awesome! Our captain and bartender on board had excellent customer service, so easy to talk to, and they also cared about the safety for each of their passengers. Their stand and landing area is between Halekulani and Sheraton Waikiki hotel. Covid precautions are in still in place, masks must be worn until Sailing free on the catamaran and max 15 people on board. Honestly, I loved that max capacity! Chill environment and so much space to walk around and cruise. Book in advance! Since we went on a memorial day weekend they sold out QUICK. Originally we tried getting 5 of us on board but they sold out so fast could only get 3 of us in. We booked our event on a Sunday at 1pm. Make sure to arrive at least 30 min prior to your departure time and don't be late! It is barefoot boarding and they ask kindly to splash your slippers in the water to prevent unnecessary sand coming on board to preserve their slip free deck which recently got redone (beautiful and clean!) They do have enclosed and open departments to store your bags and slippers/shoes. You are allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks but you must try their Maitais for $5! Locally made and FRESH. To some may taste juicy but bruuuuhh the alcohol hits soooo good. We were 3-4 drinks in and chilling They also had non alcoholic juice, soda, water, and budlight all for $3. The ride was calm the day we went, we were so lucky. Our afternoon right was 90 min long and went from the Waikiki coastline to Hawaii Kai area. You're free to do whatever you want on the catamaran from drinking to eating. We were lucky to see two turtles! The ride before us saw turtles and dolphins! Kiah was on it with actively serving us with drinks and also gave my son ice water to prevent him from over heating. She was so excellent on caring for his safety especially since he was soooo scared at the beginning of the ride. He's not a fan of boats and going over waves. But heck, the end of the ride Dustin ended up letting him drive for a few minutes on his own! Of course with his supervision. THAT made his day and I appreciate you both sooo much. High tide had us moving to a new barefoot loading location, which was ok. It sprinkled for a few minutes which was ok, after all we were on the water. The captain and first mate were wonderful. This was my fourth or fifth time in about 8 years going on one of their sails. I took my boyfriend who had never been before. We had such a good time that we were talking about it still the next day. We did the 1pm sail on Saturday, 26 June with Ryan and Ian. Thye were both wonderful and tried to engage with all customers which made for a pleasurable experience. The weather was perfect and we were really moving once they put up the sails. There is a bar on board that is cash only but drinks are not more than $5 each. They have beer, mai tai, champagne and white wine. Non-alcoholic drinks were $3 and included soda and water. I think we managed 4 drinks each in the 1.5 hour trip! They do take your picture before you get on and let you look at it when you get off. If you want it the cost is $30. Seems really high to me, especially since I know it costs very little to create. This is a fun experience that is reasonable compared to a lot of activities in Waikiki. In fact I'm going to book another sail for my boyfriend's birthday in September. Definitely add this to your list of things to do when in town. read more

My friend invited me out for catamaran ride with other friends. He coordinated everything to where we simply paid him as the organizer which I understand he booked through the website. No issues other than I noticed Yelp offered upon check-in a cheaper price than he paid ($43) as the local rate. He had been on this cruise multiple times in the past with his wife and nothing but good things to say about it. If you want a cruise of the water, this is your ride. We didn't get wet and we didn't stop. It's simply a cruise despite my wearing a swimsuit thinking we might get in the water. They offer an assortment of drinks- beer, mai tai on tap, sodas, etc for around $3-5. Mai tais are $5 and I enjoyed a couple...pretty good. The boat is large enough and the quantity of people reasonable enough to spread out, even my friends and I given COVID. Once you're onboard, you can remove masks as desired. It was a pleasant ride, although a little pricy and drinks being extra. My kids might get a little bored with just a ride but my wife would love it I'm sure. read more

Where else can you get an inexpensive boat ride From the Sheraton Waikiki to several miles off of Diamond Head. Solid sailing cat operation. Did their tradewinds cruise recently. You meet up at their kiosk which is beach side on the corner of the Sheraton. If you get lost, ask a Sheraton employee and they'll direct you. If you walk through the Sheraton and head to their infinity pool, then just keep walking to the right and you'll find it. Their launch spot is either right between the Sheraton and Halekulani (right next to the kiosk) or in front of the Outrigger Reef (5 minute walk) depending on the tide. They'll let you know. Good time. Maita'i is a bit less expensive than some of the other outfits. On the tradewinds cruise, they offer water and soft drinks for $3, beer for $5 and Maitai's for $6. Bathroom on board. You'll motor out past the breakers, then sail out around Diamond Head and back. There were about 30 people on our trip. Kinda crowded for the size of the boat. Every bench seat was taken. We've tried a bunch of different sailing companies on Oahu. Maita'i is as good as most at a lower cost. read more

I've been on this Catamaran several times. Each time is was a wonderful experience. The price varies wildly, so you have to watch what you are doing to get the best price. I always buy from Groupon, but even then, the price varies a lot. They are very helpful getting the old and disabled people onto the boat and getting them settled. They are easy to find on the beach, and the girls in the kiosk are very kind. For the most part, passengers are very attractive people in their 20s, dressed in their beach wear. The boat staff sell beverages if you want to buy some. Bring lots of sun screen and beach towel to cover yourself, because there's no shade. The product is a perfect 10, you just never know what prices they are offering so you need patience and always check promotions before buying. read more

This was one of my favorite activities I did on my trip to Hawaii! I booked the tradewind sail through Groupon, and it was fairly easy to book. I did have to email Groupon for the code as I believe I missed it at some point, but I was able to book through MaiTai's website after that with no problem. I would guess there was around 30 people in my group, and we did have a short walk to a different launch location due to high tide. We had a great breeze during our ride, so the crew was able to use just the sails. The mai tais were probably the best deal on the island, and I was given some great brewery recommendations! Be prepared for water splashing up if you sit towards the front. For me, this was thrilling, but it might not be up everyone's alley. I had so much fun on this trip, that I thought about going again while still in Hawaii! If you aren't sure how you'll do in the water, please take motion sickness medicine! read more

Do not buy their Groupon, it is a scam. Don't buy the Groupon!!! You will get zero customer support from the company or Groupon if you are charged double. You will still need to provide cc info when trying to reserve online even with a Groupon code and you will be charged twice and when you contact them they will tell you there is nothing they can do because they are not Groupon. Buyer beware. The boat ride was ok, the drinks were weak, I don't recommend the experience for the hassle involved with trying to get my overcharged money back. We started off by the Sheraton and ended up sailing by diamond head. It was a beautiful view and we saw some sea animals like turtles and dolphins flipping for us! It was really fun and there was music. The only downside is it was way too short it's about 2 hours! I guess you can buy tickets to go back to back if you really want to stay longer. Super fun sunset tour! Open bar, good company, perfect weather and tasty Maitai's was a true highlight! We valeted, partly because my lifted vehicle doesn't fit in self parking but also because we were going to eat at the Sheraton afterwards. Free for the first 4 hours with validation. We briefed regarding where we could and couldn't go on the boat and safety. Sitting on the nets were absolutely off limits, due to Coast Guard rules..I remember that was the best part when I was in my teens..oh whale! (Spelt wrong on purpose) In the month of November, with endless rain and winter swells, I never let that get in the way of letting me bask in the ocean. Luckily it didn't even drizzle, which was a blessing! We sailed out and got some great shots of diamond head. No dolphins, turtles, or whales were spotted sadly. But the water was so clear I was itching to jump in. I'm down to do the trade wind cruise next, anybody with me!? *I highly recommend not picking the Sunset tour on a Friday if you're local and do not live near town. That traffic is MAYJAH! I was freaking out thinking we would be late, I was practically mentally preparing myself to swim after that catamaran, no joke! But we were on time TYJ. Bud light, Budweiser, champagne, wine and maitais! I'm not a beer kind of gal so I opted for the maitais. Because mixed drinks is where it's at ya'll. Booked a sunset catamaran with unlimited Mai Tai's and it rained when we were leaving the hotel. I was not getting on the boat in the rain even though they sail rain or shine. The rain stopped and we were the last to board. I'm glad we went. The Mai Tai's were flowing and they were outstanding. The sunset was breathtaking and we saw a whale. I would do it again. The only thing I'd do differently is book closer to the trip so I can keep an eye on the weather if it's their rainy season. I was worried about the tickets being sold out but I had enough flexibility I would have been ok. This is a must if you're in Honolulu. I've seen a lot of sunsets and this by far was top of the list. We've been doing this catamaran ride on every trip to the Islands for many years! It's a fun way to "wind down" from air travel. I bought the 2 person 11am or 1pm 90 minute trip on Groupon. I think it was $80 for two. They were giving extra discounts at that time. Redeeming the Groupon was easy. Be sure to book your sail ASAP. They have been selling out. I would give yourself some extra time to get to the launch. The directions are on the email confirmation. 12 people missed our sail! The crew waited about 5 minutes and that's really fair to those of us that got there on time. We walked from our place and can't imagine what it's like to try and park and deal with the traffic. We filled out our waivers beforehand. The crew was nice and friendly. They took pictures of each set of couples before we boarded. You could purchase them afterwards. They did have a cash bar for drinks so be sure to bring cash. Plan on getting wet if you sit closer to the front. They didn't let us swim like they used to. I have taken several trips on the Mai Tai Catamaran. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The cruises last for 1.5 hours and take you from Waikiki beach out. The view is gorgeous. The trade-wind cruise is an amazing daytime option. Make sure to wear sunblock and a hat. There is a cash bar on board. The Mahina and sunset cruises are my favorite. Decided to take my husband out for his birthday on the Evening sail, with fireworks. Reservation and payment were done over the phone since online didn't show any openings. It was super easy, but definitely would have preferred an easier online method. We checked in at the kiosk 30 minutes prior to sail time as instructed and waited along the shore. Closer to 7, the catamaran pulled in and a line started to form. There weren't any clear instructions so eventually we just lined up with everyone else. We were told that boarding would begin at 715 but it was closer to 725. Once onboard it was smoothe sailing with free drinks! The evening sail is less sailing and more wading around the waters as there isn't much wind. However, the view, the drinks, and the sailing staff made everything so much fun. Went on a Groupon for this Mai Tai Catamaran cruise for the 11am Tradewind sail, it was amazing! We were kind of worried since the weathers been gloomy, but Waikiki was nice and sunny. If you park in the Sheraton Waikiki Parking you can grab a drink at Rum Fired and get a covered 4hr parking validation. From the parking lot, go into the Sheraton Waikiki and directly straight, when you hit the elevators, stay on your right near the pools and it will lead you to the hallway directly facing the ocean and where the Mai Tai Catamaran is, sooo easy to find. Now for the actual sail... 90 mins of sailing in the sun, I recommend sitting by the net, but warning you will get wet there! Catamaran has a toilet (very small) on site for convenience. They also serve wonderful Mai Tais!! Lucky us, we went during restrictions so they were running at 25% cap, there was only 15 of us on board and it was so spacious! Wish it would stay that way forever. Also got to take a 10 min dip in the water! Thanks to the captain & bartender, they were awesome.. don't forget to tip well! read more
