Ambiance was cool. I like the layout, how there are different areas. Service starts upon entry. I stood at the "front counter" for about 5 minutes. A young lady walked out of the kitchen, passed me while on the phone. I'm not saying it was a personal call, but if you're working and see me standing there, at the very least, stop to acknowledge me and say someone will be with me in a moment. Especially if you know you're going to be my waitress; develop even a bit of a rapport. She was cool during the service; I just think in general, customer service nowadays is missing a few things and not acknowledging customers is one of them. My meal was disappointing. I had the sesame chicken rice "bowl" and because of a craving, mashed potatoes & gravy. I ate maybe 20% of my meal. I've never eaten so little of my meal at a restaurant. The potatoes weren't as soft as I expected and the gravy had a thinner than desired consistency, with a lemon flavor! I've never tasted a lemon-flavored gravy, and surely didn't expect it from a brown gravy. The entree wasn't what I expected. I was thinking more of a stir-fry presentation. The chicken appeared to be 3 halves of boneless chicken breasts, instead of the bite-size pieces I expected. It tasted straight out of frozen dinner. The rice appeared to be long-grain rice instead of the typical white or brown I expected; it was also watery. There was water under it like it had just been spooned out of a pot of water without being drained enough. The broccoli wasn't all that flavorful; I would've liked a touch of lemon for that. Though crowed on a Saturday eve, we were served out meal within reasonable time. Waitress, Dee, very friendly and upbeat. Our first time there and will definitely return. This restaurant was recommended by my brother and didn't disappoint. The food portions were a good size with many of us needing to go boxes. I did make a reservation for a group of 10 and I would recommend making one for a large group. Our server was excellent and didn't rush us and we lingered a little bit after dinner and one of the other servers took our family picture since we only see us all together about every 5 years. I think we've been here 3 times now, and this last visit for me was the best and it was indeed a good experience. We arrived early evening late afternoon and the place was, as usual busy but not packed. The inside atmosphere is cozy and warm with decent decor. They have a great whiskey selection and even though the bar has a lot of chairs close together we got two and were comfortable. They have a good draft selection and mix good drinks. I enjoyed a 420 ale served cold and a Kentucky mule that was serviceable. My girlfriend had long islands and liked them. The food? It was very good. I had prime rib sandwich with brussel sprouts that were roasted with a balsmic vinagrette and this might be my new favorite thing. The sandwich was good with horseradish sauce and au jus for dipping - delicious. My girlfriend got the perch dinner and got 7 decent size pieces of fish. I liked her fries, they're a little more like steak fries. It was all very good and the service was great. It's a little on the pricier side but not bad. I've been to this restaurant/ pub several times for a: "Let's go out to lunch today" work day, after work celebration for colleague's retirement and for dinner by myself because I want something good. Today I went after busy work day with no lunch. MB's has just about anything you could want: hearty appetizers, shareable starters that are also vegetarian, soups, salads (side and an entrée), burgers, pizza, wraps, fish, steaks, ribs, chicken. I had the French Onion soup again and the cheese was melted with some crouton edges also toasted. I liked the crunchy bits with the gooey cheese & plenty of onion bits too. My main was Ramirez's Rattlesnake pasta, which the menu had listed: Cajun, jalapeños and blackened chicken breast. My server said, "It comes with all of that. If you spicy then you'll enjoy this." She was absolutely right. Cavatelli pasta (curly tubes) coated with "Zip" sauce but not drowning in it, plenty of sliced hot peppers and the chicken, all maintaining a moderate++ spice level. My Arnold Palmer gave me enough of a break, sipping as needed. Portions here are generous, enough to share or take home for another meal, but I was hungry and did not. Prices are also moderate++, depending on what you order (I believe 8 oz filet was $37) but everything these days is inflated. You get your money's worth for a nice meal and experience. Decor is sophisticated rustic, distressed wood accents and black iron light fixtures with Edison bulbs for ambient lighting but not dark. Seating options are: sit at the bar, bar height tables, standard tables, cozy U shaped booths, and an outdoor patio which is walled in, but roll up plastic for fresh air/ comfortable nights or roll down if there's a chill/ rainy. MB's is good for: dining for one like tonight, couples (of all ages) groups, families with kids. Don't know if a certain day/ night is better for kids. Staff is personable, attentive and efficient, delivering or removing plates, refills. Wait time today, Monday 2 hours before closing, I waited maybe 3-4 minutes for my soup to arrive and after they picked up empty crock, same wait before pasta arrived. The whole place is clean and tidy, including restrooms which are easy to find/ access. Dress 'code' is anywhere from: stopping in after golfing (which a party of 10 ladies did today), watching sports at the bar in jeans, date night, girls/ guys night out or fancier if that suits you/ your occasion. There's private parking in small lot plus on the street in front and across Biddle Ave. Come check it out! read more

We waited for our food 1hr and 45 minutes and was told that she did not have time for concerns or questions... she had a "tabletop"of 20 and was too busy, and they had some call offs that morning etc... Have been here twice since initial visit. Initial visit he service sucked but the food was good... still too many menu options of so many different varieties. Last time sat at the bar - great service and food. Went in this evening and sat on bar side again... waitress seemed very preoccupied (wrong beer orders, unsure of our food orders and had to come back, asked to cash out so she could leave, saw her have issues with several peoples change saying "she lost $5") and had on a dirty uniform... food was delicious but restaurant smelled like fish this evening... there were a lot of fish items on the menu but unappealing smell in the restaurant. What a little gem on the North end of Wyandotte... Driving up to Major Biddles, your think they weren't yet open with their new patio area under construction, but the new owners of the former Smokeys have remodeled the interior to be nearly unrecognizable, very updated, and really cool. It's not just a cosmetic overhaul either. The menu (which is almost too extensive and could honestly use some paring down) is packed full of offerings from small plates of steak tips or brussels sprouts, to appetizers including a soft pretzel big enought to use as a steering wheel, to BBQ combo baskets that would make Fred Flintstone blush, and everything tastes as good as it sounds described on the menu. We've been in for dinner a couple times and have not been able to shut up about it... Just last weekend, we hit up their weekend brunch buffet and, seriously... what the what!?!?! Plentiful, hot, fresh, properly seasoned choices of savory and sweet goodness line the room along with an omelet station and a waffle/pancake/french toast topping situation and both a bloody mary and mimosa bar for those who love a little light day drinking... Every time I come here, the food is amazing. I have never been disappointed. The sautéed calamari is always my go-to appetizer. It has a wonderful creamy lemon wine sauce with tomatoes, bell peppers, and capers. The fish & chips was unbelievably moist and flakey. I highly recommend it. The prime rib sandwich was great as well. I loved the option for the balsamic brussell sprouts. They were very tasty. I also loved the meatloaf sandwich. It was very hearty and also moist. The garlic parmesan wings tasted like Alfredo based. I don't recommend that sauce, but all the other wing sauces were flavorful! read more

Enjoyed a very tasty meal here. We arrived at about 7pm on a Saturday and the wait was an hour. But the place is rather small and they were short staffed, etc. We were able to sit outside, but I thought the seating was still a bit too close bc of COVID. I had the shrimp tacos which were very good. I love love love their curly fries. My husband had jambalaya and he enjoyed it. The waitress was nice to repour his soup bc the first serving came out all broth. We will definitely be back and come earlier to avoid a long wait. read more

The bar staff is amazing!! I have always had good service and great drinks. Super shout out to Kasia and Brett! I must also give another shout out to Hannah B! What a great waitress!!! She is all over the place and attends to your table and accommodates you! As you can see in my photo, I asked for a "chopped" wedge salad and this is what I got .... but I did eat everything else, just wish I had more of a salad. Good looking place! Great attentive staff! The menu is way way to big! It took me like 10 minutes to order because I couldn't decide in what to eat because the menu was so overwhelming. The calamari was amazing! My vodka penne pasta with added jumbo shrimp was very very good my only ehh in that was the pasta was a little over cooked for my liking. Very good! I had to do takeout due to "BIG GRETCH" closing business down. Once businesses are allowed to open I'd like to come back and have a full dining experience. That being said, my wife and I really enjoyed the food from here. We ordered buffalo cauliflower appetizers along with the goat cheese. I really liked the buffalo cauliflower, I thought it was really well done. I thought the goat cheese could have a little more flavor. I ordered the filet and she had the salad. I guess she enjoyed her salad, I enjoyed my steak. I would say, the steak was underdone, I have never said that before, but I managed to eat most of it. I would give it another try when we go back. I also had the mashed potatoes and found them to be delicious. They were real potato's and not the boxed version. My other side was the broccoli with cheese and I also found that to be awesome. I waited till I tried this place 3 tImes before I left a review. All 3 visits were about 3 montHs apart. I'll start wIth the good... The salad bar is nice. My husband and I love a good salad bar. While this one is kinda small, everything was fresh. The drinks are also really good. They have a blueberry Moscow mule that was great! The service. Everyone has been very friendly. A little slow on drink refill, but they have been busy every time we have been in. The not so great... Cold food. The first time we came in, I got their Greek chicken pasta. While the chicken was warm, the noodles were cold. Not even room temperature. I did not send it back, because it took awhile to get it in the first place and I wanted to eat with the rest oof my group. Not sit and wait. The second time we came I had their chicken parm, this time all of it was Luke warm. I don't know if it was left sitting in the window to long or something. My husbands was hot, so again, I didn't send it back because it just sucks to sit and eat alone after everyone else is done. Our last visit was to their Christmas Eve brunch, which cost $50-60. ALL THE FOOD WAS COLD or Luke warm at best. The cheesy potatoes were not soft and gooey likE cheesy potatoes should be. The waffles were hard as a rock because they had been warm at some point and then became cold. Ugh. We left kinda hungry and a lot disappointed that we had just spent that much money on breakfast. We decided on this place for us and another couple around 1:00 Sunday afternoon. Pleasantly surprised by the great looking entryway and outdoor patio (a portion is covered). Greeted quickly by the hostess and sat in a round comfy booth for 4. Our server, Elizabeth was friendly and helpful. She suggested several items on the menu that were popular and yummy. I got the sesame chicken rice bowl. I requested less rice and the dish was great. Crunchy chicken breast sliced in 4 portions, glazed with a finer sauce. Steamed broccoli completed the dish. My SIL asked if she could order from the kids menu and it wasn't any problem. She got little hamburger sliders, French fries and a side of baked beans. Our BIL got a classic burger with fries. Hubby got a unique Momma Bell's Popper Melt with goat cheese spread, jalapeños, hot honey, red peppers (on multi-grain bread) and fries. Their fries are a cross between steak and curly fries. Everyone loved them. We didn't drink anything but water and Pepsi, so I can't comment on the bar. Did see Moscow mules, mimosas and other popular drinks being served. We highly recommend this restaurant. Ample by parking. Great location (not heavy traffic area). Not right downtown Wyandotte. Across the street from JP's on the water. By far one of the best restaurants I've been to in years...and so glad that it's in Wyandotte. I see a lot of people complaining that there's too much on the menu, and I often don't like a large menu either, but I really didn't see this as a problem, as it was only a '2-pager' (one page, front & back). Have any of you been to BJ's brewhouse? Now that menu is big! lol. Also, I think it's very common to have the drink menu separate from the food menu. Anyways! The food was 10/10 no doubt. The goat cheese jalapeno poppers were the best I've ever had....and the raspberry sauce that comes with it...GOOD LORD. The turkey Reuben was outstanding and the fries were delish! My sister got the Avocado 3-cheese and she couldn't stop saying how good it was. Literally the only thing that wasn't perfect was her mimosa. Just didn't taste super fresh. Was one of my favorite spots, until last week. Order steak tips which were good and a good size portion. The problem was one piece of pita bread cut into 4 pieces! Asked for one more slice of pita and was charged an extra 1.50! Order these at several other Wyandotte restaurants and it comes either ample pita. I'm sure that was the cheapest thing we ate. So, even though we support local restaurants this won't be one of them anymore. read more
