This was also not mentioned when I made my appointment over text... That said, I want to give a huge shoutout to German--he truly did a fantastic job on my hair and was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. He's clearly a gem and the highlight of my experience. Unfortunately, the pricing model and unexpected consult charge left a bad impression, and I don't like feeling taken advantage of. For that reason, I won't be returning.

I explained concerns from a previous experience here solely to clarify my preferences and ensure a good stylist match. Instead of asking follow-up questions or discussing fit, he made a snap judgment that I "wouldn't like it here," refused to explain his reasoning, and abruptly ended the call. Declining a client is one thing; doing so without explanation and hanging up is another, ESPECIALLY when at no point did I talk or behave in a way that was inappropriate, or out of line. I did my due diligence as a client. I was consistently polite, never lodged formal complaints, never criticized stylists directly for their work, and compensated fairly with tips regardless of personal preference or outcome. Being abruptly told that I'm not a good fit there by a receptionist/"manager" who is not the service provider and does not have firsthand involvement in the stylist-client relationship is not only disproportionate and inappropriate but a role violation. While I understand that businesses may set boundaries when a client crosses a line, that was not the case here. The decision to cut off service without prior discussion, warning, or involvement from the stylist themselves was uncalled for, completely baseless, and outside of his role. This is outside of his authority to make this abrupt subjective judgement call. His conduct falls below acceptable ethical, moral and professional standards. A qualified manager would have asked what didn't work previously and determined whether the salon could meet those expectations. That conversation never happened. This action was extreme, beyond unjustified, especially given that no complaint was being made at the time and no misconduct had occurred Sharing this for others who value respectful communication and professional consultation when booking services.

Yes, I have ran into many obstacles getting in between appointments, but lesson learned, schedule before you leave with her. It's easier to establish a future appointment and cancel/ reschedule later than trying to get in touch with her for an appointment. Trust me, I know. Jen is usually accommodating towards all scheduling needs, however weekends appointments are usually booked up. Recently I texted her to confirm my appointment but informed I'm available today if she can accept me. I told her the condition and length of my hair, and informed what results I wanted to achieve. This way she knew what to prepare for during my appointment. Took her a few mins to text back and told me if I'd like to go darker, she can squeeze me in right now. Though this happened by luck, I don't expect to be this lucky every time. Jen usually knows I have a crazy schedule just like hers, but if I have some flexibility, it doesn't hurt to try. Jen always delivers quality work after each hair appointment. She definitely recommends the best products and literally cares for clients hair and look. If you can be patient enough with her communication skills, you definitely won't regret getting in with her. I made a mistake going to someone once when I couldn't get a hold of Jen between my last appointment with her. Jen worked twice as hard on my hair to fix the damages done, but was still very sweet and understanding of the circumstances. I called, emailed, and texted. Finally got a text response 3 weeks later. Too late - already had my hair colored by then. My friend insisted she usually isn't this bad at communicating and that she's typically just really busy (too busy to text back? Right.). Thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and try again. I emailed, txted, and messaged on Instagram this time (since I noticed she was posting some recent photos - for a while I thought maybe she stopped coloring hair so I checked insta for recent posts. Yep still doing hair. On who I don't know). Still no response and it's been a couple weeks. Don't Waste Your Money at Hair Xpression Salon…read more I recently visited Hair Xpression Salon for a color correction and Brazilian Blowout service. I specifically asked for my hair to be dyed back to a natural brown shade, but the final result turned completely black, which was not what I requested at all. This was not my first time getting a Brazilian Blowout or coloring my hair, but it was definitely my worst experience. The stylist was extremely rude, aggressive, and unprofessional when I politely asked about the color and checked my hair. Instead of communicating respectfully, she raised her voice and made the experience very uncomfortable. On top of that, the Brazilian Blowout left my hair with a very strong chemical smell that has been unbearable. I expected professional results and respectful customer service, but unfortunately, this salon did not meet those standards.
