Our lunch special - fresh, fresh, fresh

Nice restaurant, plenty of parking, awesomely-fresh food, friendly and competent staff - we met for lunch and had a delightful time. Yes, we will come back

Sake and sushi were delicious!! There were good combinations and everything we tried was satisfying -- Saki Maki, Firecracker and Manny. The white peach sake was a good option out of several enticing ones. To top it off, the Valentine's Day velvet cake was sooooo good. As for environment, it's a small restaurant so it gave off quick lunch vibes rather than a sit down dinner.

It was my very first time in here and I absolutely loved it! The ambiance is nice, the service is AMAZING! And let me go on about the food The Yoko and Chris just became my very favorite sushi for now on. The only bad comment I have it's that Google Maps is not allowing to do review for Maki Toki and so we couldn't give the 5 stars they deserved on there as well..

My fiancé and I went on a Friday around 9pm. The service was great! We ordered the crab Rangoons and they were ok, not much flavor. We also ordered the Jade roll and the Chris roll. Additional I got the California and the Crunchy Shrimp (fried) . The place was rather empty but still good and tasty food.

Maki Toki is my favorite, hidden gem! I go here when I want more of a lowkey vibe without sacrificing quality. I've been several times over the last 4 or 5 years and I have been consistently impressed. It's never super busy, the staff is super chill and friendly, and the prices are hard to beat! You really can't go wrong with the sushi rolls, I recommend you plan on trying all of them eventually! I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Cute little ducked off cozy spot. Delicious options and free appetizers with the purchase of 2 rolls. The sushi was good a little bland but fresh. The calamari was dry AF! Over cooked but surly really good lol... kinda like a jerky... not sure that's what they were going for but I liked it the service was great, very friendly staff (I think they were the owners) will definitely return to try the other options.

Tima Roll, Miso soup, seaweed salad

So yummy!! I got the Tima roll, the crunchy shrimp - not fried (pictured) and the firecracker but we subbed crab! All so yummy!! The Tima was my favorite. Shrimp friend rice also had a great flavor, I could smell it while it was being cooked. I got a small miso & seaweed salad. Both hits! I love that they're open till 11. And Tima our waitress was super helpful and sweet. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I had such high hopes for this place, as the pictures looked good and it's pretty close to home. However, everything was so disappointing. When we walked in, we noticed that there weren't but two other people there, at 6PM, but it was a Wednesday, so we thought maybe thats why. We were greeted by the waitress, and asked if we could sit at the bar. She told us that was allowed because of "Covid". Okay, no problem, we sat in a booth. We then began looking over the menu, which is structured really poorly, does not have good descriptions of the rolls, and is not even in alphabetical order so you can find them easily, from what's on the happy hour menu. It was such a mess. We ordered 3 rolls and when they came out they looked so sloppy and messy. They all fell apart when trying to eat them. And the wasabi was so old it wasn't even spicy anymore. The Rainbow roll, which is normally my favorite was a joke. The fish on top was so thin and tasteless. It looked and tasted like it was all frozen. I then ordered a spicy scallop roll and when I took my first bite it tasted rotten and old. I of course sent it back in fear of food poisoning. By this time my husband and I both realized that the waitress and the 'chef' were now maskless.. which begs the question on why we couldn't sit at the bar if they are sooo worried about covid? Bottom line, this place needs a lot of work to be considered a sushi restaurant. We will not be back, and do not recommend to anyone.

Service was fine but the fried rice was just not very good. Sushi rolls were okay. Definitely no where near "authentic" sushi.

    A ROACH

DO NOT eat here there was an actual dead roach in my wife's food that's sickening instantly lost my appetite and didn't even want to touch my plate I'm sure it came from the same pot!

These folks are running a good business with decent ambiance and food and pretty good service. Just nothing to write home about is all.

I'm sort of a regular here. Their Miso is the bomb and only $1.50. The sushi is way better than Sushi Zushi and way cheaper.

The uni was a vibrant orange. I was talking with my friend when I first took a bite of the Toro, and literally had to pause the conversation with how surprised I was by its texture, truly feeling like a piece of Wagyu. It was overall just so much sashimi as well for the $42 price tag -- you could honestly split it with someone. They also had a gluten-free menu and provided gluten-free tamari, which was appreciated.

This Asian smokehouse definitely lives up to the hype. Since we had more adventures planned for the evening, we decided to keep dinner on the lighter side. Loro's menu combines Asian-inspired and Texas smokehouse flavors, creating a unique and delicious dining experience. The atmosphere is casual and inviting. We placed our order at the counter, and somehow the staff magically delivers everything to the correct table...without numbers, flags, or those little buzzing gadgets. I'm still trying to figure out their secret. We especially enjoyed the open seating, modern décor, and communal dining concept. The indoor-outdoor layout is especially appealing during Austin's cooler months. For dinner, we ordered the wings, Brussels sprouts, and salmon bowls. My friend happily claimed most of the wings, as they were a little crispier than I prefer. The Brussels sprouts, however, were excellent...crispy, crunchy, and finished with just the right touch of sweetness. The true highlight were the salmon bowls. The salmon was perfectly charred and packed with flavor, while the coconut rice added a rich, slightly sweet complement that tied the dish together seamlessly. Loro delivered a fun, flavorful dining experience and proved to be an excellent choice for a birthday celebration.

They were beautifully presented and the spices they put on the outside were surprisingly tasty. We also really enjoyed the potstickers and shrimp tempura. The katsu set was solid overall, and I absolutely loved the pickled vegetables that came with it. They also sell the pickles up front as grab-and-go containers, which I was very tempted to take home. The karaage was probably the only thing I wouldn't order again, and the miso soup was unfortunately very plain and watery compared to everything else. A small touch I appreciated was the cookie that came with the set. It was simple but really nice. They were out of the ice cream flavors we originally came for (black sesame), which was disappointing, but we ended up trying the miso caramel flavor and it was surprisingly delicious. The waffle cone was a little old, chewy, and stale. One thing that really stood out was the service. The cashier had one of the most genuine, sincere smiles and was such a pleasure to order from. Overall, definitely worth visiting for the onigiri. I already want to come back to try the matcha and black sesame ice cream flavors next time.
