Such a beautiful place. The space is so open and inviting. One side is a coffee and bakery shop and in the middle it's like a work space with cushion seating and on the other side it's a hair salon that feels like a spa. SUPER COOL SPACE! Very zen. Nice customer service and delicious food and drinks! Just the way I like it! I could stay here all day long. There's outside seating as well. Really dope spot. Cute little coffee shop by the reservoir. Beautiful interior space with lounge-like seating in a U-shaped area, and lots of green and cushions! Small working space, as it seems like a spot to drop by and chill during your walk or run around the reservoir and neighboring area. This shop really caters to the Silver Lake community. It's home to the Silver Lake Track Club, and I loved seeing all their merch for the community posted up! We tried their peanut butter latte and spicy honey latte, and we were... a bit underwhelmed. Lattes weren't anything that wow'd us, as the peanut butter was a bit thick of a drink and had its own preferred taste, and the spicy honey was good, but the spice took a bit of getting used to (made it difficult to pair eating with a pastry or sandwich)... but they're lattes when you need one! We also tried some of their bites like the ghost bagel and matcha donut (matcha donut was nice, wonder where they source it from!), but again, was not completely wow'd for the price and bite. A rather small bagel sandwich on a dense bagel (I loved the idea of bbq shrooms though!). I can see this place for its convenience and charm for the Silver Lake community, especially if you're doing a run around the neighborhood and want to pick something up. But perhaps it didn't have me craving to come back for anything again. I appreciated that their service was quick and prompt, as they had our food and drinks out quickly! read more

After driving past this cafe regularly, I finally tried Makisupa recently. I had a great first visit, and the fact that they offer Sugarbloom Bakery pastries is a plus in my book. I ordered the raspberry pistachio danish and enjoyed the texture and combination of flavors. The service was friendly and fairly quick. I ordered an Americano, which I thought was fine; while it did not blow my away, it was good enough to make me want to revisit and try other drinks on their menu. Located along a pretty busy street in Silverlake, this small coffee spot feels like a great place to either grab some coffee on the go or even hang out for a bit. It also feels like it's connected to the businesses around - almost like a mini mall type structure. I got the iced peanut butter latte. I thought it was very tasty and a great mid day treat when you need a bit of a pick-me-up. I love the taste of peanut butter and this was just the right amount of it (not overpowering). Because it is located on a busy street, parking can be a little tricky. I parked a few blocks away in the residential area. There are street meters, so you may get lucky. Cute lil spot by in Silver lake. Street parking can be hard to find, but you could also park closer to the resivoir and walk down. The spot is really cute with vibey lighting, cute gifts, green plants, lots of seating and a stand up bar to wait at. Lots of people bring their dogs in, so be careful if the line is long or if you have a reactive dog. The baristas were very warm, friendly and upbeat which is nice to see. I ordered the pretzel, which I was so stoked about when I saw the menu! I love me a good Bavarian type pretzel sometimes. But it really wasn't the best I've had truthfully. I think there is a dip that was supposed to have been served with it as well, that I didn't receive. I also ordered the speed queen with egg and vegan schmear but they were out of the schmear. So they add a vegan butter instead. This sandwich has bbq pulled shrooms topped with house made pickled slaw on a fresh, lightly toasted kaiser roll, which had nice flavor and I truly enjoyed it. I also ordered a Nutella latte with almond milk which was good but still not a fave for me. Overall I liked this place, I just need to give it a few more try's and find the right coffee for me. A goal for 2024 is to try as many new coffee shops as possible. Surprisingly, I find myself returning to the coffee shops I enjoy and forgetting to try new ones around the neighborhood. I ordered their egg and cheese sandwich. To drink, I got their iced dirty chai with oat milk. The sandwich was okay; the cheese saved it. The bread and egg didn't have much flavor, it could have used a little salt. The dirty chai was delicious. I love it when I can taste the spices in the chai mix. The service was quick. After I had paid, my drink was ready and waiting. The staff members are all friendly. The ambiance was excellent. There was a mix of dog parents enjoying their coffees and folks working on their computers. I love that this place is dog-friendly! I'll have to try their most popular drink next time, a peanut butter latte. read more

MAKISUPA (est 2024) is Silver Lake's brand new coffee bar located right across the street from Blair's restaurant and adjacent to Camelot School. Their indoor has an atrium-style seating area where staff serve coffee drinks. Its tranquil atmosphere definitely attenuates the stress in your work. It's my first time here and ordered a Cold Brew. It was perfectly made to my liking. Service was on point and staff was nice and competent. Prices were very competitive. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is a free parking behind the building and surrounding neighborhood. Overall, I had a good experience and I recommend this coffee bar. I'll definitely come back. read more

Makisupa is in a fun area of Silverlake, close to the reservoir and the space is gorgeous! If you're a runner, there are Silverlake track club merch & running accessories. Coffee is from Colectivo, which pleasantly surprised me, since it's my favorite coffee when I lived in Chicago. I make sure to pick up a bag of beans every time I visit Makisupa. Lots of seating, good for catchups and doing work, and the baristas are the friendliest! read more

This has easily become one of my favorite places. Parking is street metered parking but I've never had an issue finding a space nearby or just a small walk away. The place itself is bright and clean. There are some chairs and tables available if you want to have your coffee there. They have a good selection of drinks and pastries that always look scrumptious. They also have small food options like bagel sandwiches and such. They have some random things for sale like mugs, greeting cards, and other stationary stuff. It's always fun to look through this section while you're waiting for your order. The people there are always friendly and I'm always seeing people passing by walking their dogs so this makes for a good dog watching spot as well, haha. My go to here is the Peanut Butter Latte. If you are a fan of PB, this is such a delicious drink without it being too sweet. I come here when I feel like a treat and want something more than a regular latte. My friend has tried their Hot Honey latte, and it surprisingly had a good kick to it! I always recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

Makisupa I have many reasons why I love Makisupa but perhaps the most prominent is the strong sense of community I feel when I walk through the doors. It is by far the most welcoming and friendly coffee shop I've found in this part of town. The coffee is always good, the snacks are endless, the pastry case full of interesting and delicious treats, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Plus they've always got cool events going on, and you can tell they have a real investment in keeping the neighborhood connected and caffeinated. I'm always happier when I've stopped in here for a cup of coffee and a tiny burrito. Also ... thank you Makisupa for being the only spot in town to make a pumpkin spice latte besides Starbucks! Recently went to Makisupa for the first time. The pumpkin pie latte was delicious and not overly sweet or syrup-y. I also got the egg and cheese which I felt wasn't too good because of the roll. I think it'd be better on an English muffin so don't recommend that. I haven't tried other things on the menu but the peanut butter latte is one that I would next time that I go. read more

Since I am long time a coffee drinker, I decided to give a try to their cup of just black coffee Honestly, I didn't expect to have so delicious, tasty medium roast black coffee. Since than I am a permanent customer of the bar. When i am on my walking trial, sometimes I am not planning to go there, but the taste of their coffee is bringing me back and back to the bar since my mind couldn't resist to their a super delicious cup of medium roas coffee. Makisupa just opened in Silver Lake. It's named after a Phish song and they serve a burrito inspired by Phish. Maybe? I don't know anything about Phish, so any Phish references that they make are going to be lost on me. The place is Mid-Century Mod stylish, sharing a lounge/seating area with a salon and a parking lot. Yes, they have parking in the back (park in the spaces for the old pilates studio), free wi-fi, outlets, a restroom, food, and drinks. There is no kitchen though, but they do have pastries (croissants, kouign amann, cinnamon roll, cookies, donuts), Maury's bagels, egg sandwiches, and mini burritos. There's also a fridge with juices and beverages. Coffee options include the usual espresso drinks and cold brew. No pour over (sorry, Mr. Froyo). They do not roast coffee but serve Colectivo Coffee (founded in Milwaukee). Milk choices: whole (dairy), oat, almond. Lot burrito ($3): a warm mini refried bean and cheese burrito in a flour tortilla. It's about five bites worth but cute and satisfying. There are a variety of hot sauces you can add. Flat white ($5.50): Simple foam art, needed a bit more foam but flavorful and on the stronger side The pebble floors remind me of Pinkberry. There are only four tiny cocktail size tables (good for one person), and I have a feeling that once the campers descend, it will be tough to find an open one. read more

This cozy place shares a mid-lounge U shaped area with their Nextdoor neighbor salon, has beautiful greenery alongside the main entrance and espresso bean wall, and entices you with some delicate pastries ready to tag along with your drink. I ordered a matcha latte and peanut butter latte, both with oat milk. The matcha comes with vanilla syrup as a sweetener and we opted out. It's simple, earthy; yet there's nothing extravagant about it. A decent purchase. What had me drooling was their peanut butter latte! It's amply sweet and delicious! However, it's unfortunate they don't offer any sizes, as it's one-size-fits all for their drinks. If I could have ordered a larger cup, I would have so opted out for more! Two drinks with oat milk added for a total of $14. A good price for some good drinks. I now have somewhere close to stop by when coming back from a nice city stroll. read more
