I called in an order of wonton soup and shrimp pad thai during the COVID-19 shutdown and was quite surprised when the woman told me it would be ready in 5 minutes. I'd expect a drink within 5 minutes or maybe even ice cream but not heated Thai food. I told her I would be there in 15 minutes and it was ready when I arrived. The soup had plenty of choy sum and about 4-5 wontons. It was typical of the soups I've had (even if I'm not a Thai food expert). The shrimp pad Thai was good - A decent sized portion. This was a while ago in August before the pandemic, but here's my review anyways.. My roommates and I came here on a Wednesday evening at 7:30 because we were craving asian food. The place is BYOB! They even gave us water even though we brought drinks. Got the Pad Thai with chicken, Clay Pot Noodles, Tom Tum Vegetarian Noodles, and Malay Fried Rice with shrimp. The food came out really fast! Dined here with my fiancé, sister and her boyfriend and we had a great experience! The restaurant is very causal, clean, and staff is friendly. I really enjoy Malaysian cuisine and was very content with the food! We started our dinner off with a couple orders of Roti Canai for the table - my personal favorite Malaysian dish. The chicken and potato curry was fantastic, although I felt like the roti was a little too crusty. I personally like when the roti is soft, especially in the center, and theirs was crispy all around. My sister and I split the Mee Goreng and Pad Thai with chicken for our entrees and both of them were delicious. I kept taking bites of each and although I struggled to make a final decision, I ended up choosing the Mee Goreng as my favorite. It was so flavorful! Service was good and our waitress was nice. Our orders all came out quickly and were served piping hot. I'd say presentation was fare although you can't really expect much out of noodle dishes to be honest. Someone at the table got an order of pineapple fried rice that came in an actual pineapple which I thought was pretty cool! I would be happy to return to Malay next time I'm in the area. I came to visit my friend Eddie Hsaio recommended this place and it did not disappoint. We ordered malay satay mixed, 2 roti canais, Indian chili chicken, 2 Tom yum soups, malay cocunut fried rice, beef rendang, sarangi buroug, papya salad, and beef chow fun. It was the perfect amount of spicy the Indian chili chicken. The vegetable tom yum soup was out of this place, it's has a umami with a nice tang to it. The satay was my favorite. Came here for dinner and it was delicious. It's a Malaysian/Thai fusion restaurant. The staff is super friendly and checked in on how we're doing several times but not in an annoying way. We got roti canai, golden squid (it was recommended to be more like calamari than getting honey squid), pearl noodles, and pi pa duck. I would definitely get the roti canai, pearl noodles and pi pa duck again. The sauce that goes with the duck is so good! It comes with a bowl of rice. At the end of our meal, we were given homemade peanut cookies. I was told they're alright. I have a peanut allergy and was not able to try it but i thought it was a nice gesture that they offer a little dessert at the end of the meal. read more

Tried their spring rolls which looked like they were just made, super fresh and crispy, and had their fried wontons which were super delicious-- wish I would've gotten two orders of those. Had the chicken pad Thai which was good but a bit disappointed because my plate brought lots of tofu and very little chicken :( also had a bite of their Thai basil chicken, also good but it felt like it was missing something... maybe a little bit of a kick to it? I found this restaurant to be an excellent presentation of both Malaysian and Thai food. Our server was very helpful in describing many of the dishes. This was very important since our friends had very limited prior experience with either of these cuisines. The food was excellent. We started off with a most delicious Roti Canai. In looking around the dining room, it seemed that just about every table was having a Roti dish. Our other appetizer was steamed vegetable dumplings that was served with a very tasty dipping sauce. Unadventurous Shelly who was unfamiliar with Malaysian-Thai ordered Sesame Chicken. I tasted it and it was well beyond the typical Chinese restaurant fare as it was spiced up with some unusual seasonings probably more usually found in Malaysian food. Her husband Rob was even less of a risk taker than his wife and ordered a broiled chicken dish that came with a side of Sweet Thai Chili Sauce. I tasted this one too and the chicken was deliciously moist and crisp, and the sauce was excellent. My wife ordered her usual Pad Thai. She has had this dish in many restaurants and said the one here was as good as the best of the others she has had elsewhere. Plus, it was a large portion. I had the Red Curry dish that was very good. It consisted of chunks of white meat chicken and vegetables in a very, very tasty sauce. Disclaimer: to be fair I'm from NYC and not from this area. As an unofficial Malaysian having grown up there my whole life the food itself was not bad. But then again I have high standards when it comes to Malaysian food. The beef rendang was decent which I was happy about and of course we licked the platter clean. We went as a big group and this plus the satay sticks (this was actually really good cos their peanut sauce was mmmmmm) were yes yes yes! The kuey teow (the flat noodle stir fried) wasn't something I would write home about but not bad. The kangkong belachan needed a little more sauce for my liking. I forgot the official name but the fried taro with the seafood and mushrooms was actually amazing. Crunchy and delicious Their hot sauce was a watery garlic sauce - which wasn't the one I wanted but only choice available. This if you're craving spiciness is not something that will hit the spot. Restaurant has changed ownership and unfortunately has gone downhill. Both service and food were awful. My husband and I went for dinner and although no one was dining in the restaurant but us, we were left waiting at the table for quite some time before anyone would even come over to us. When the server passed our table I told her we were ready to order and she just kept walking and ignored me. At another point, she was also on her phone with it on speakerphone talking loudly and it also sounded like a baby monitor was going off. The people in the kitchen sounded like they were fighting. Needless to say, it wasn't a relaxing atmosphere. We ordered the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and while we were still eating, she started taking away the plates and the sauce. The shrimp was ok, but we felt very rushed. We then had a chicken curry, which was extremely over cooked, tasting almost powdery. It's a shame this restaurant used to be great. read more

Friendly staff but there is only two of them that manage the front desk, orders, takeouts, and kitchen. We lived in Malaysia for a while so this place definitely have some Malay food. read more

Love the ROTI CANAI here. I could order so much of this and eat it for the whole meal, but I probably shouldn't . The Satay (chicken kabobs) are SO good. I love it with the peanut sauce and onions. It's just a crazy flavor that I'm so not used to. The Thai Mango Chicken is REALLY good too. It's fried chicken with mangos... does it get any better than that?? I've been ordering takeout from Malay for years (and occasionally dining in), and it's consistently good. The tom yum soup is one of my favorites -- spicy by American standards, but very manageable. Also love the pad thai, salted fish fried rice, and thai basil anything (but especially duck). Prices are reasonable for the quality. The only downside is finding a place to park when picking up your order -- leave a little extra time and be prepared for a walk. read more

My son had an audition at FDU and we wanted to grab something to eat before we head back to NYC. I yelped and this place looked interesting. It is right across the street from the Morristown train station so there are many restaurants near by. The place is clean and not huge by NJ standard but cozy enough. Apparently it is BYOB since I saw a few ladies ( probably a lady's night out) brought their bottles of wine. We had Roti, Chicken Lettuce Cup, Curry Puff and Shrimp Mee. By NJ standard this is a 5 stars but NYC standard probably a 4 since we have so many to compare to.
