Thanks Yelp for another great suggestion! Katie S. and I traveled here in anticipation of delicious cheese and fun wines. Guess what we found? Exactly that and more! Parking was interesting, but I'm thankful for the signage along the exterior to assist with finding your way to the right place. Once we arrived, my sister and I opted to sit outdoors (with a looming storm overhead.) When we realized how close the storm was, the staff was accommodating and kind enough to move us inside - we opted for two stools in a nook off to the side of the restaurant. Ordering off the main menu versus the Brunch menu, we chose three cheeses and two accompaniments - manchego, Irish Porter, and a raspberry walnut goat cheese with our sides of roasted garlic in olive oil & balsamic vinegar, plus an assortment of olives. The wines were fantastic, to which we ended up both liking a particular glass and bought the bottle. Still hungry for more, we ordered a veggie omelet and LOVED everything!! Service was great, presentation was lovely, and we adored the fact that we basically had the whole restaurant to ourselves from 11 am to 12:30 pm. It's small, intimate, comfortable and you feel like family. The menu options are all "fresh" (as my grandmother would say) and delicious. What should you get? Read the menu and order whatever is calling you. You won't be disappointed! I have been here countless times (thanks to it being around the block from my house). Stopped in with some friends and was instantly pleased. From the moment you walk in its a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There are large chalkboards and easels on which the special menus are displayed. The prices are all reasonable and worth the cost of the delicious items on their menu. I chose the Smoked Salmon sandwich which is served on a delicious, fresh baguette and spread with cream cheese while covered with smoked salmon and dill. Accompanied with the sandwich is a bed of greens and a light vinaigrette. Our table also shared what seemed to be a never ending pitcher of really good sangria. Great quaint little spot for some good wine and great tapas and small plates. We had the pleasure of talking with the owner Justin and he made us really feel at home and welcomed. The wine list is very interesting with many boutique and small vineyards to chose a wine for any palate. Food was on point. Great atmosphere to just hang and relax with friends. We were there for two and a half hours on a Saturday late afternoon early evening and we never felt rushed. Looking forward to our next visit and trying some more of his delicious wines and food. I was pleasantly surprised by this tucked away restaurant. It's a little difficult to find the parking area, I drove right by it the first time and had to circle back. The space is not very large but they make good use of their indoor/outdoor seating with couches and comfy chairs. I would highly recommend the nut, pear, and goat cheese flatbread (comes with arugula on top) and the house made strawberry jam+goat cheese. Prices for wine by the glass were reasonable-$7. Luckily for us they welcomed us in with big smiles, so we decided to take a chance! The place is nicely sized and cutely decorated! The owners were very friendly and conversational. When we sat at the bar, the owner/chef helped us make our wine and food choice for the evening. Now here comes the best part of the evening.... THE WINE AND CHEESE BOARD WAS AMAZING! Seriously, I could stop my review now and pray that you take my advice and JUST GO TO THIS PLACE! We told him we would like to drink red wine. He gave us an excellent wine to drink.... This is a hidden gem! When you enter C & W Cafe, you feel as though you are in a cafe in Europe. It offers a completely different atmosphere than any other restaurant in the area. My sister and I are obsessed with meat and cheese plates so this place , located 5 minutes from my house, was perfect when she came to visit me for my birthday. We ended up hanging out, eating and drinking wine here for hours. The meat and cheese plates were absolutely delicious. We asked the woman owner (I believe) to pick the cheeses and meats for our plates and she was very pleasant and helpful. We couldn't get enough of everything and even ordered several things to go. Wine was very good. Home made tiramisu was amazing. There was some sort of olive dip that we really loved as well and took several bottles of it home. Yes the male owner appeared to be a little annoyed with us, as a few others mentioned , but not a big deal. This is the kind of place you'd like to see succeed- a small, individually owned business. The owner is very earnest about wine and personable and the one sever was very pleasant, but between the two of them they were struggling to provide adequate service. One nice feature is that they offer wines that you probably haven't seen before, from smaller producers. Unfortunately, all the ones that our party of five tried were lackluster. A sparkling rosé was okay-- very fruity. The Peaks and Valley Sauvignon Blanc was bland. The Lost Find Pinot Grigio was enjoyed by one, but the others found it meh. The Dough Pinot noir had some hints of a typical Oregon flavor profile, but was a bit flat. The Pozzan Pinot Noir from Russian River had some heft, but lacked finesse. Perhaps we were expecting too much from wines that are only $9-12 a glass, but part of the fun of going to a wine bar is discovering new wines that you really like. Sadly there were no discoveries of that type on this outing. (There was one wine that the owner raved about, but it was only available by the bottle for $95.) But the real letdown was the food. The "baked brie " was thin smears of brie on baguette slices (think cheese toast). The "shrimp escargot" were six minuscule (seriously I've never seen smaller) shrimp that were overcooked in individual pools of garlic butter, served in the traditional dish for escargot. (The Beach Bistro on Anna Maria Island does a version of this that is spectacular.) The tomato basil soup was basically a marinara sauce. Very flavorful but not the consistency of a soup at all. The crab cakes were over- spiced and soggy, with no discernible crab flavor. The five- cheese tortellini with truffle oil and manchego were fine, but there wasn't much truffle flavor. Perhaps the worst dish was the rice bowl, with crumbly sausage and watery peppers. It seems to me that offering a large number of dinner items is overreaching. I don't know how they could hope to prepare everything with such a small staff. Sticking to a smaller menu or just offering cheese and charcuterie might be a better option. Here's hoping that Justin gets some of these problems worked out and has smoother sailing in the future. read more

The tapas menu is diverse, and the wine list in extensive and carefully handpicked by the owner, Justin, that has so much knowledge about wine.
