I've been several times but most recently last Saturday night. It was crowded and cold, waiting in the vestibule, but once we were seated, we received prompt attention. There were three of us and we ordered the combination platter for two with a side order of french fries. There was plenty of food for the three of us with some leftover. Service is amazing! It was super busy, and we had waited an hour to be seated (it was Eid), but the host made sure we knew he was looking out for us. Every time I'm in Michigan from New York State, my mom and I make a trip to Dearborn. We attempted to go elsewhere Saturday but our first choice had reduced hours due to Ramadan. So off to Malek Al Kabob we went (which I was honestly craving but I had just been there in December...). There's tons of great grub in Dearborn. I typically want warm, fresh bread and some places don't deliver on that front. Malek has the fresh bread, a killer toum, and a spicy toum that is also incredible. My go-to here is the rice almond lamb gallayah. I diversified a bit this time and started with the fattoush salad (no pictures) from my normal lamb chili. My mom is a vegetarian and gets the tomato kibbee, but there are lots of options. The place tends to always be packed but service is fast, accurate, and friendly. read more

The food is AMAZING. Highly recommend the loaded shawarma and the Shish kafta. Omg really delicious. The service was a tiny bit slow but to be fair we did come on Mother's Day. The restaurant itself is nice, I like the lighting decor and the setup of the dining area. The only reason I dropped a star was because my mom had a falafel sandwich and she said it was really dry. This is an absolute must-visit spot! We brought our large family here to celebrate my daughter's graduation, and it was the perfect place--plenty of space, great atmosphere, and truly exceptional food. The fattoush salad is fresh and flavorful, and you must try the crushed lentil soup--especially with a squeeze of fresh lemon on top. The mint lemonade is refreshingly delicious, and the creamy hummus paired with hot, fresh pita is a perfect starter. A huge shoutout to Hailey, who made our experience even more memorable. Always delicious. We come here every few months and order the family platter. They have a few platter sizes so just depends on how many are attending. The picture attached is partially eaten (sorry... it looked so good we jumped in before I could take a pic but it looks just like their stock pics). It's normally pretty busy but have never had to wait long for a seat. Seating area is pretty big... large tables and booths available. I don't like the seating near the back entrance... never sat there but you're facing the kitchen entrance and the main area where everyone walks in and out of the restaurant from. They also have fresh juice bar and delicious fresh pita bread. read more

Just had lunch here and dam it was good. If I find myself back in Detroit again I will be sure to eat here I love food from the Middle East and in LA it's hard to find any nearly as good as this. The absolute definition of a 4 star establishment, for better or worse. The food? Oh it's absolutely great. You should definitely come here for the food. You won't be disappointed, and it's among some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in the Metro-Detroit area. The beef shish kebab and lamb shish kafta were all excellent. I wish the fattoush salad had a little bit more pita, but you could easily stuff yourself with the salad portions and bread. What's holding them back, you ask? The service was kind of a mess. Three parties were waiting to be seated, and it was never clear who was in charge or where the line started. When we were finally seated, the server (while earnest and friendly) was a bit overwhelmed. It took ages to get water. We finally got salad but had no flatware (so more waiting while staring at our food). The food though was absolutely great, but the sit down experience was just - kind of weird. No hesitation. I came here as part of Dearborn's Restaurant Week 2024. I've been here in the past multiple times as I love their fresh baked bread and their spicy toum. I've bought a quart of their spicy toum to go so that I could enjoy it at home! I tried to visit on Thursday night, but it was so busy and chaotic with so many patrons waiting that I opted to visit another restaurant. When I tried again for a Saturday lunch, the restaurant was much more empty and I was seated immediately.  I immediately noticed that the server didn't provide the Dearborn's Restaurant Week menu. Undeterred, I pulled it up on my phone and tried to order from it. The waitress immediately said that Restaurant Week was over, but it clearly wasn't... When I tried to order Shish Kabob (and my partner Chicken Sajja), she cut me off and said that I couldn't order it and that we should get the combo for two ($40 instead of the $15/each entrees). She was pretty aggressive about this so we ended up getting the combo for two, even though we've had it before and wanted to try the chicken sajja. The waitress then proceeded to ignore us the remainder of the meal, without checking in on us, bringing us more bread, or refilling our drinks. Super irritating. We were the only people in her section so it wasn't for the lack of time.  The freshly baked bread was on point. It was warm and fluffy, and not overly sweet like what you would get from other places. Unfortunately, both the spicy and regular toum was nasty. It had a sweaty flavor that was very off putting. I'm not sure what happened, but given the treatment that we were given by the waitress, I didn't want to ask.  The fattoush salad was large enough to serve four. Romaine lettuce was chopped up and dressed with the usual fattoush dressing (but not drowning in it-there was no dressing pooling at the bottom of the bowl), pita chips, diced tomatoes, sliced onions, and diced cucumbers. The hummus was unremarkable. It was silky smooth and didn't have too much lemon in it. It was topped with fairly neutral olive oil. The combo for two arrived with one chicken kabob, one shish kabob, two kafta, a chicken breast, and a scoop of chicken gallayah resting on a bed of rice. The rice had a good texture and wasn't overly seasoned-rather it served as a backdrop to the meats. It was garnished with slivered almonds. However, hidden in the middle of the bed of rice was a piece of cinnamon bark, which I unfortunately bit into and got a load of cinnamon flavor. I don't think they were supposed to include that since no other places here do that, and I've never encountered that when ordering this dish before. The chicken kabob was on the dry side, but it was nothing compared to the dry, stringy chicken breast. It was clearly overcooked. Thankfully, the chicken gallayah was much better, with shreds of chicken and julienned bell peppers playing well with the seasoning. The shish kabob and kafta were also bursting with flavor and tender. There was enough food to fill a takeout box to the brim. Overall, Malek Al Kabob is a solid choice, but this time there were a few missteps which makes me shy away from giving it a perfect score. read more

Cannot say enough about how excellent this food was. The ambiance is very casual, but pleasant. We ordered the combination plate for TWO, however, in our opinion, enough for FOUR!!! What a value for two people, but then for four makes it so cost effective! Service was great. Enjoy. read more

We loved eating at this authentic restaurant. Although we wish they offered gluten free options, maybe even sourced from the local Cedarland Bakery, we truly enjoyed everything we had. Im sorry I'm not here to bash or hate on anyone. Just an honest opinion to help others. Service was good the lady was friendly and checked on us multiple times. Fatoush Salad had too much lettuce barely any tomatoes, cucumbers or anything else. Bread is not fried either. Dressing is perfect. Hummus way too much tahini in it, and it's runny. The bread with the garlic was really good. Beef very chewy and dry, chicken tawook is okey, rice is good. This place offer Lebanese food with no Lebanese chef. The owners should really consider hiring a Lebanese chef and work on elevating the quality of their food. Im shocked how they're still in business. The prices are very reasonable. I think they should work on the quality of their food and increase the prices to compensate for the extra expense. Very unpleasant visit never again. Not worth the try. read more

Shawarmas (both beef and chicken) are tasty although I found the chicken and the pita bread dry. The homemade garlic sauce and hot sauce are amazing and is a must with the dry sandwich. We also ordered the beef/lamb kofte kabab platter, which was very good and tasted better when you add the garlic sauce and hot sauce and mix it into the rice. Solid food all around. Went for dinner and got there kind of late. Had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. The food was good, fresh and clean. In appearance definitely high quality, the taste was great but it wasn't mind blowing. Our server was Ben, he was exceptional and probably the best part of our visit. I was in the area for work and decided to try this place for lunch. It was great! HUGE portions of both my house salad and my entree. I had the chicken kofta with grilled veggies in place of the rice. Everything was excellent and their garlic sauce is amazing as well. There were 7 of us and we didn't finish it we were all women but we took a lot home. The food came out fast and was tasty but the server was MIA. She came to our table to take our order and give us our bill. We tried getting her attention but she never came back to our table. We were in Dearborn for an event, so we figured we should go to a Middle Eastern restaurant, since Dearborn's the hub for them. I read the reviews and decided we should try this one. First, walking in from the parking lot in the back is lovely. There are lots of tables with umbrellas as well as little ponds. However, we ate inside. But the inside is lovely as well. We both ordered sandwiches. Before they came out, they served fresh-out-of-the-oven pita (we could see them being baked!) and that yummy garlic sauce. The sandwiches were good and big. I got one that was stuffed with chicken, hummus and tabbouli. It was really good. Sadly, I was too full and I couldn't eat the last bite. My only "complaint" -- and it's a small one -- is that the service was a little slow. But, it's likely that the servers had to wait on tables both inside and outside, and it is a bit of a walk, so that is understandable. read more

Hands down my absolute favorite place for Lebanese food and one of my top restaurants of all time. Where do I start? The small fresh pita breads are absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking of them. And the garlic sauce. I LOVE their fattoush salad. It's the best around Dearborn IMO. I could drink the salad dressing. Lol. If you love their salad dressing and sour things, you should get the lemon oregano chicken. Mmmmmm. And then everything else is just great: kibbeh, tabbouli, falafel, baba, etc. This place makes me have such high standards for middle eastern food when I'm not at home to the point where I refuse to eat middle eastern food when I'm not in Dearborn. I love Lebanese food, and always take the opportunity to enjoy! The food at Malek Al Kabob is fantastic, flavorful, fresh... everything you expect from Lebanese cuisine but with some wonderful twists. My favorite part of the meal is actually before you've even ordered. As soon as you grab your table, a basket of fresh and hot pita will arrive with two different garlic dips. Traditional as you would expect, with that vibrant, almost electric fresh garlic flavor, and a second that is spicy and red in color. A coworker friend and I decided to try out Malek Al Kabob for lunch on Friday. We were looking for someplace with outdoor dining and I remembered they had a nice patio. They may have the nicest outdoor dining setup in all of Dearborn and beyond. Big open tent area for lots of shade but also lots of natural light. It was perfect for those being a little cautious with COVID. Service was excellent. Our waitress brought out a nice bread basket with two different garlic spreads. We both ordered chicken shawarma sandwiches and they were delicious and plentiful, especially for the price. I ordered a hummus as well - it was good but not the best in town. One thing I wish is that they had lunch size combos of some of the regular entrees, as most of the other Middle Eastern restaurants in the area do. We were told we had to try Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food while in Dearborn, so we came Malek Al Kabob for lunch before heading to the airport. Our group of five was greeted and seated right away. The space is bright and colorful. Nice ambiance. We were served a complimentary pita basket shortly after being seated. Came with two spreads. Not sure exactly what they were, but one had garlic. Delicious. The other one might be butter. For my entree, I ordered the salmon fillet, $21.49, which is salmon mildly seasoned with sweet paprika curry, broiled and topped with sautéed vegetables. It came with a side of rice. I also had a side house salad. Everything was excellent! Flavorful and the portions were huge. The prices were reasonable and service was fantastic. Highly recommend! read more
