Malibu Brewing might be a default for me when visiting Malibu. Real close to the beach, family friendly and lots of things around. Ordered a sandwich and fried fish tacos. These tacos were MASSIVE. They're mostly breading but they were satisfyingly crispy and a hefty amount of slaw. These are a showstopper. The sandwich however lacked seasoning I think but the cook was great. Ask for extra jus if you need it to enjoy it better. Mac and cheese were default, nothing spectacular but I'm sure it's an ol' reliable for most.

Have been here twice, love the food, the beer is good. Love the ceviche and the different BBQ dishes. The service has been solid each time. The vibe inside is pretty nice as well. My only gripe I've had was the first timed the wait was an hour so I wanted to get a beer and wait out front in the only waiting area and the bartender said I couldn't take the beer outside but I saw others doing the same thing. Other than that the place is great, just wish they had wifi.

I came into Malibu Brewing to treat myself to lunch after spending the early afternoon at the tide pools at Leo Carrillo. I had a hard time finding it (My GPS led me astray), but once I did I sat at the bar. I didn't catch the name of my bartender but he was very hospitable and I ended up having the Hazy IPA he recommended (I don't remember the name). I ordered some Brisket Tacos, which were so good! Generously portioned and served with chips and a salsa on the side. The Brisket Tacos did an excellent job at capturing traditionally Hispanic flavors with somewhat of an American twist. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the brew. I love a good hazy, bodied, light on the stomach and the tongue. I also really appreciate the whole aesthetic, the devil is in the details and I love a solid choice of font for branding. I will absolutely be back. Thank you Malibu Brewing!

Good selection of beers, and love the patio that is dog friendly. My favorite beer selection here is the hazy ipa. The food is standard bar food that taste decent.

This place was really nice, loved the vibe, wish I would have gone first to the beach and then the brewery but it wasn't too bad. The food was good even though we just got apps lol we were there for the beer. Super yummy and refreshing love the canyon spritz do yourself a favor and get that one. The service was great our waiter was very nice and attentive. The hostess did rub me the wrong way she gave a rude attitude she had a sense of superiority when I was giving her my number for the waitlist and then it looked like she got bothered that another worker say us quickly instead of making us wait 20 minutes. Which we would have waited but she gave weirdo vibes. Over all I would def go back here, the beach is like 5 minutes across so we parked in the street and walked over for a bit. Good day at the end. Also sorry we didn't take pics of the food, we were just so hungry. But we ordered chicken nachos, pretzel, and sweet potato fries.

Malibu Brewing is so Malibu coded, I don't know how else to describe it. People are here for the vibes and beer - I'm sure - but mostly for the salads. Tons and tons of people sipping on beer and eating salads. Ngl, I too ordered a salad. I ordered and enjoyed a delicious Southwest Salad ($16) with grilled chicken ($5). The salad comes with greens, grains, corn, Borracho beans, southwest goddess + cotija. This was the cleanest southwest salad I've ever eaten - it wasn't weighed down by a ton of stuff or dressing. I also love the addition of the grains. It gave the salad a nice texture and made it feel a little more filling. Ten. Will order again. It wasn't all salads and beer for us. The MBC smashburger ($16) was delish as well, though I'd order a salad over the burger. The merch is cute. It's giving Madhappy if it's not already Madhappy. Malibu Brewing is cool. I'm there for the vibes and salad.

Great atmosphere, great service. Outside patio was full but inside was lovely and I was seated quickly. I got the highly rated rib sandwich and was quite disappointed... The bread was good but the inside was equivalent to a mediocre pot roast. It was well presented and great customer service but the chips and dip & buffalo wings appetizers were subpar. A restaurant with a great atmosphere and proximity to the beach across the street, but I cannot recommend the food. I know this spot is a brewery, my friend and I are not beer people so we appreciated that there were alternative adult drinks but we did not get them.

They have a wide variety of beer! Food was great! I had quesadillas and husband had a hamburger. Both were excellent! Service at the bar and at the table was very nice and speedy! Nice ambiance inside and outside on the patio. They are dog friendly, too.

Nick was outstanding and a great server. From the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel welcome. The location in Malibu is very cozy and a great place to relax and enjoy yourself. We stopped in for drinks, which were excellent, and ordered the buffalo chicken cheese dip as an appetizer. It was next level and definitely a standout. It's something I would come back for again, along with the great service. Overall, if you're in the Malibu area, I definitely recommend stopping by and giving this place a try.

Busy place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Greeted by the hostess with a warm welcome and big smile. Promptly seated and quickly approached by our server, Conley. He was terrific and patiently answered all questions. If you're coming for beer, both their IPAS are really good. I would rank the Wild Grove over Hippie Van Hazy. Their Canyon was the perfect pairing with the poached pear salad. The turkey melt wasn't really a melt, but that turned out to be a good thing. The roasted turkey was outstanding. Their sauce brings some heat to the dish. And their in-house chips were seasoned perfectly. Whether you choose indoor or outdoor dining, there's definitely a fun vibe which adds to your experience. Cheers!

This tends to be our go-to spot after a weekend of camping nearby. They have a wide selection of beers and their food has always been tasty. They have indoor and patio seating, and the place has a casual-trendy vibe to it. I've tried tried the smash burger as well as their short rib sandwich and loved both. The short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth and also large enough to possibly save a portion for a snack later. We also ordered the hot wings to share which were okay but on the dry side. The roasted veggies for the kids were also a bit bland and mushy. The service is great, and our server was attentive and made sure our drinks were constantly topped off. 2 Hour parking is free in the lot was definitely a plus!

Location is perfect when driving from LAX back home to Ventura so we always stop! Nice outdoor seating and they have some delicious beer. Food is on point, I got the Malibu grains bowl with fish which was halibut and it was SUPER fresh. Hubbs got the turkey burnt ends salad which he loved. Tower 11 beer is my fav!!! Service was a little slow for the first time so won't hold it against them! Sit outside which is a beautiful patio with a nice view of a cute grass area!

The beers were a lot better than I expected for a place I haven't really seen in distribution. And with its location I assume it could get away with just ok. The Hatch Chile beer was the star for me but their coconut porter and pumpkin beers were great too. Solid witbier. Good Irish stout too. Kind bartender. Parking was easier than expected, and free. But to be totally honest the star of the show isn't something I expect you'll see, someone was having the most adorable birthday party for their dad. The bar must let you rent time on the TV? They were doing a slideshow, slideshow wins 5 out of 5 best slideshow.

Do you have a view of the ocean?

Hey, Danny. Unfortunately we are not waterfront, but we do have a gorgeous view of the Santa Monica Mountains from our patio.

Hi Christine, we sell several varieties in cans (6-packs and 4-packs) and we also can crowler & growler anything on our tap list as well. We can’t wait to welcome you in! Cheers!

Are reservations necessary or is walk-in acceptable as well?

    Walk ins are welcome too

Do you have TVs? I'm coming from out of town and hoping to watch the Super Bowl somewhere fun.

Hi Gary, thanks for the question. We do have TVs, 2 at our bar and 2 in the dining room. Hope to see you next weekend! Cheers!

    Is it pet friendly?

Hi Kayla, we welcome dogs on our patio, as well as service dogs indoors & on the exterior. Thanks for the question!

You really can't go wrong with the Lobster Rolls here, and adding uni takes them to another level. The lobster is the star, but that little hit of uni makes the whole thing extra indulgent. It usually looks much longer than it actually is, and the wait is typically around 20-30 minutes. One thing that's changed: indoor dining is gone, and it's now permanently outdoors. I understand that everything is more expensive these days, especially at a premium establishment in a place like Malibu. However, there's a basic principle that businesses sometimes lose sight of: customers may initially be shocked by a price increase, but if the quality remains consistent, the price is usually forgotten. People don't necessarily remember exactly what something cost one, three, or five years ago, but they absolutely remember the experience. When I got my lobster roll, my first thought was, "This looks like half the lobster they used to give you." I figured maybe I was remembering it wrong, so I went through some old Yelp photos. I wasn't. The rolls from a few years ago had easily twice the amount of lobster, if not more. Judging by some of the recent reviews, I'm apparently not the only person who has noticed. I would have genuinely rather paid twice the price and gotten the lobster roll I remembered than pay what I did for what I received today. And truthfully, I couldn't even tell you what I paid three years ago, because it didn't matter. What I remembered was the quality. This has always been a premium establishment, and I've never had a problem paying premium prices for it. Unfortunately, the price is still premium, but the experience no longer is. And $6 for a small bottle of Coke was just insult to injury.

My biggest issue with the service is that there is a very chaotic system in place for giving out orders. Instead of doing numbers like most fast food restaurants, they take down your name and call it out when your order is ready. Additionally, the food does not come out chronologically with when the order was placed, which leads to confusion. When we asked about our friend who ordered first but hadn't gotten her food despite everyone who ordered after her getting theirs, the employee was very defensive and short with her. My order was under the name Sam, so when they called Sam, we stood up to get our food. The woman originally had the burritos packed in to-go boxes and when she realized we were with the group sitting inside she quickly unpacked it and gave it to us on plates, but didn't specify which burrito was which. When we started eating we realized the order seemed incorrect. It wasn't until 15 minutes later that an employee came over and scolded us for getting the wrong burrito. Of course we did not purposely get the wrong order- they called our name then failed to specify what the actual burrito was when they handed it to us. We asked if we could have our actual order to-go since that was the food we wanted. She then took the 2 burritos that we originally ordered to the back with her and gave us only ONE to-go. She acted like she had gone out of her way to be kind and give us a free burrito. It seems she felt that it was our fault that there was a mix up and therefore we didn't deserve the burritos we actually ordered. In my experience with customer service (I worked in the industry for 7 years), that is NOT how you treat a paying customer after a mistake is made. All of this is to say that I won't be returning to Lily's due to the service. Besides that, the food was good and the serving size was huge.

The fish was incredibly fresh, the portions were generous, and everything tasted like it came straight from the ocean. The outdoor patio has an amazing Malibu vibe, with beautiful views and a casual setting that makes the experience even better. The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and you can tell they take pride in serving quality seafood. A perfect place to stop after a drive along the coast. Great food, great views, and a true California beach experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

The restaurant does have its own parking, but that tends to fill up pretty quick. Would recommend passing the restaurant and parking on the right side of the road though there is a bridge that goes underground if you park on the other side. The staff was very friendly, and there was a long line just to order. Went with The, fish and chips, to tacos and ceviche. The fish and chips were the best part. The fish is decent sized and the fries were amazing. Crispy outside with a baked potato inside. I did not try the CVA that my friend did not care for it very much. He did mention that the ingredients refresh, but the flavor profile was not to his like. Recommend getting the three-piece fish and chips to share with somebody. It does get kind of pricey if you order everything à la carte. The views are amazing and definitely appreciate the filtered water station by the patio tables. Very family, friendly, lots of people enjoying the weather and outdoor seating.

(Some reviewers are just pretentious serial complainers I think, lol!) Food was quite good, views were Malibu beach--can't go wrong with that! Understood that we were a large group so maybe giving us time to look over everything. Our server continued to be rude the entire time we ate. Drinks took forever to come out, when one of us just politely checked in we were snapped at by the waiter that the bar was busy. Another time when we asked for a refill on our water pitcher we were asked "Do you want it now, or tomorrow?". We waited for the check for a while, and once again one person was snapped at by our waiter. We were a large party and gratuity was already going to be included so guess he didn't care at all about manners and having a nice interaction. Food and setting were great at least!

Came here on a Friday afternoon and grabbed some lunch around 6pm. They weren't busy and walked right up to order my food and within 5 minutes my order was out. I did spent $50 bucks for two plates of food. But the view while we ate was worth the price and service. I ordered a tuna melt and fish and chips. The star of the show was defenitly the tuna melt! It was a really good one and one of my favorites now in this area. The fish chips were good but nothing great. Portions for both dishes were good. Overall, I would defenitly come back again! If you never been here before you gotta check out this Malibu staple. Thank you Neptunes Net for the great dinner, till next time!

Neptune's Nut = Customer price gouging at its highest level…read more If you want to be extorted out of $ like back in the days of NYC's La Cosa Nostra, stop by Neptune's Nut. This place is 1) a tourist trap and yes we absolutely got suckered 2) clearly living off the fame of its glory days from The Fast and the Furious (I hope they're paying royalties to Vin Diesel and Paul Walker's family because they are the only reason this place is relevant). The place is cool looking and has the nice Cali beach vibes with a great view right off the Pacific Coast Highway, and that's it... The service sucked worse than Gavin Newsome as a "governor for the people" (the guy Eduardo working the counter had the personality of a rock and shouldn't be anywhere around customers) and the food was both grossly overpriced and below average. $50 for 1/2 lb of shrimp, rice, and steamed vegetables? Gtfoh... Neptune's Nuts is not worth the stop unless you like being bent over like a Las Vegas hooker. My suggestion is drive down the Pacific Coast Highway (it's one of the most epic drives you'll ever do), go right past this hell hole, and stop at an actual high-rated restaurant in Malibu... You'll thank me later.

Very polite staff, nothing fancy, just beautiful mountains, lots of natural greenery and a bright pretty indoor area with a fabulous fireplace in inclement weather. I absolutely used to go crazy over their Curry mango chicken salad, I wish they would bring that back. Good for sandwiches, light salads, eggs. It's a fairly small menu but easy to find healthy enough options, as well as traditional hardier brunch selections.

Two large ones per serving. One of us had the tuna melt with sweet potato fries. It was all delicious. We would definitely recommend it. Ambiance was quiet. Beautiful greenery all around. Really a perfect experience on a special day.
