We had what turned out to be a very minor fix needed for our SubZero fridge, which of course we didn't know until the appointment. First, Egor arrived exactly when he said he would, which is always a good start! Then when he saw what was wrong, he simply showed us how to fix it for future reference and declined to charge us because the visit was maybe 10 minutes long. He could have charged us a visit fee and he could chosen not to show us how to handle it ourselves, but he was generous with both his time and knowledge. We have a Sub Zero made in 2002, it started to fluctuate temperature on the refrigerator side, going up to 50 degrees...not good. My wife did a yelp search and found Malibu Sub Zero, she called and Egor picked up the phone and booked an appointment the SAME DAY, that just doesn't happen these days especially with appliance repair. Even though the window was 3-5pm, he showed up early at 1:30, another plus. Within minuets Egor found the issue, a bad fan, and guess what? He had a new fan in his truck, replaced it, and bingo...the temperature dropped to 38 degrees almost immediately. As a bonus, he fixed our light which didn't work, no charge...AND cleaned the coils...no charge. This guy knows Sub Zero better than anyone I've ever met, I found out he can completely replace ALL the parts inside your fridge if it craps out so you don't have to buy an expensive new one. Bottom line, if you have an issue with your Sub Zero or Viking, call Egor with confidence, he will SAVE you money and get the job done right. Couldn't be happier with Malibu Sub Zero. Our built in GE Monogram Refrigerator decided to go on strike. We tried using our appliance insurance company to get a service call in an attempt to save perishables. The soonest they could schedule a visit was 3 days out (not an option). We called everywhere and no one could offer help with the same sense of urgency we were feeling - except Egor from Malibu Sub Zero. Not only was he here within an hour to evaluate the problem (a damaged circuit board), he was also able to find a local vendor carrying the part needed and, after running out to pick it up, he returned to install it - leaving us with a happily employed appliance before mid afternoon. First American Appliance Insurance was canceled following their inability to deliver for the 3rd time in a row (they have been terrible). We will use Malibu Sub Zero moving forward. I had a great experience with Malibu Sub Zero and Egor. He came and quickly diagnosed the problem with our older Viking range. He advised that we live with the workaround of lighting two burners manually, because to try to repair that would involve taking the whole unit apart, potentially damaging it further. That would have been a lucrative repair for him, but he was most concerned about my needs as a customer. That's integrity. He then did a quick fix on my Whirlpool freezer and didn't even charge me for it. Our 25 year old SubZero refrigerator was not keeping food cold enough. I found Malibu SubZero Repair on the web and called. Egor arrived an hour after I spoke with him on the phone. He replaced a malfunctioning fan and added coolant. Charged a very fair fee. Egor indicated that major components of our refrigerator (compressors and evaporators) were at the end of their expected lifespans. He told us that he could replace all those components for far less than the cost of a new refrigerator. And we'd save the cost of replacing built-in cabinetry. We'll definitely have Egor do that when the refrigerator fails. He is highly competent, honest, and charges fair prices. We have a 15-year-old rare Viking range that needed some parts replaced. This was a bit of a challenging repair since it's a sealed range. I contacted a dozen local appliance repair companies, some which specialized in Viking. Unfortunately, almost all the companies said they were unable to do this repair. I chatted with Egor and he was both reasonable and informative. When he came over, he was very honest. He did the repairs and made some recommendations on other repairs we should do soon. He explained which repairs are necessary from a safety perspective versus which help prolong the life of the range. It wasn't an upsell; Viking recommends doing some of these repairs every 1-3 years. We didn't know this so we never had any service done. We knew our range wasn't working very well, but we chalked it up to old age. Oops. Since we don't want carbon monoxide poisoning AND we want our range to last another 15 years, Egor is going to fix these other things for us. He also took a look at our SubZero fridge, another appliance we'd neglected and had problems with. He made some recommendations we could do ourselves, as well as ones we should have him do every couple years. We are definitely going to use Malibu SubZero & Viking Repair again! read more
