Holy cow, only regret was missing happy hour. The staff was bright and friendly, and were happy to fix a small mistake on our end. The chorizo tacos were absolutely outstanding, the pork belly taco were fantastic, and the duck, albeit was still very good. The scalloped potatoes were a sleeper pick for us, and were authentic and delicious as well. We will 100% be coming back if we're in the area, highly recommend! read more

This spot was so much better than expected! Definitely a better version of bartaco. The menu had more unique food options and the atmosphere was warm, cozy, and social. The outdoor area was warmed with heaters and the tables and decor were gorgeous. For an appetizer, I got the crabcakes which were so fresh and full of crab. Then I also got the Big Sur Bowl, with half salad, half brown rice. It also came with shrimp, cotija cheese, mango, corn, and fresh guac. The bowls they have are very generous portions and I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful and fresh the ingredients were. Good food but NO babies allowed. WTF. What kind of restaurant doesn't have a high chair? I guess anyone with a baby is not welcome.

Positives: Great food - we ordered the open-face quesadilla, guacamole for an appetizer, and a couple of different types of tacos. Shared all and was the perfect amount for 2 people. Food came out super fast and was delicious. Negatives: As I saw others mention it was crazy loud and difficult to carry on a conversation over dinner. Also, ahead of dinner at Malibu I wish I'd prepared myself, emotionally, for the realization that there are now hipsters in Fairfield. Expect to see at least a couple of trendy hats and to feel very very old because you didn't know that the Post Road had its own "scene". That, plus feeling like you're hard of hearing while you yell across the table, only reinforces the sense that you're a million years old. read more

Plz save ur time and money and just don't come here. The customer service off the bat i would rate a 0/10. To give a 0 is even stretching it. We get seated and i was denied a drink because I didn't have another form of id and it "wasn't scanning". I wasn't aware i would have to bring my passport or birth certificate to a restaurant to have dinner and drinks with my friends. My wife wanted to come here to eat for months. We came to check it out tonight and the food was great, fresh ingredients. Delicious and vibrant food and the drinks are very good. Staff is pleasant and all around good vibes in the restaurant. The staff kept to check on us if we was ok which was nice. They have TVs with sports on. Nice show case of the liquors behind the bar. Service is average at best. We had to wait quite a bit for someone to even get to our table. Most taco places are able to modify any taco to a plain cheese taco for kids. Our waitress didnt even think about asking the kitchen staff for this. NOT cool. When she brought our water, she had to be reminded to get lemon!!! When i reminded her, she replied "i was just getting that"....even though lemon was kept in a completely different direction vs where she was headed. As I was exiting, I heard them tell a party for 4 they couldn't accommodate them because they didn't have a high chair for their baby! For a new restaurant, is that really sensible ..to say no to a party fo 4???!! Get a high chair from ikea! Food was actually quite good. We will return to give service another shot since the food is worth it. read more

Used to absolutely love Malibu taco. Their drinks and tacos are amongst the top in Fairfield county. Their Sunday night happy hour was my friends and my absolute favorite. Drinks half off, taco deals, open face quesadilla deals, and more. This past week they threw us for a loop and stated they are discontinuing their Sunday happy hour deals (midway through our meal). Absolutely devastating- there are no other words. I hope they bring it back as soon as possible or the people of Fairfield county are going to revert back to staying in on Sunday nights. Let it be known the drinks are still superb and our waiter was fairly good at monitoring our table. read more

This is the cutest spot to grab good quick eats and drinks. I love this place. The food is delicious. I personally love the guacamole with bacon in it and the Big Sur mixed greens and rice bowl. This restaurant is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. When you walk in, it feels like you just stepped into a spot off the Cali Coast, such a chill atmosphere. I love how diverse their menu is and how they introduce global flavors and ingredients. A couple of my favs are the Farm House Open Faced Quesadilla, Japanese Lentil, Miso Cod and Falafel Tacos. They have a great Cocktail Menu, but I prefer sipping tequila. They nice lady bartender introduced me to this Rose Tequila that has been aged in Wine Barrels, it was excellent! A friend and I really enjoyed our dinner at Malibu. The place is beautiful and had a great buzz when we arrived at 6:00 - people eating and drinking - very welcoming. We settled into two stools at the bar and Kyle took care of us. He made great simple margaritas and recommended a few dishes and tacos. There were other interesting options but when eating tacos you need margaritas! Some of the offerings are extremely unique. Shishitos and peaches? Cauliflower fundido? Guacamole with dragon fruit? All excellent. After our apps we dove into a delicious tray of tacos(pink!). All the ingredients were super fresh and very flavorful. They offered a house made spicy green sauce which wasn't really very spicy but tasted great. We didn't get to the quesadillas but will do for sure next time. The couple next to us was really enjoying their's. Looks like they'll lose a lot of tables in the winter when the patio is closed but at least it's a fun environment inside. Then I ordered the Nashville hot chicken taco, the buffalo cauliflower taco, and the ahi tuna. My boyfriend got a Nashville hot chicken taco, a duck and pineapple taco, and a steak taco. I wish the empanadas had just a little more flavor. The sauce they came with was great, but I dipped one in the sauce for the spicy cucumbers and it was delicious. The spicy cucumbers themselves were alright, but I don't know if I'd order them again. The tacos were very full and absolutely delicious. Best buffalo cauliflower I think I've ever had. read more

I had reached out prior to going and made reservations as well as asked about bottomless drinks, and the manager accommodated all of it.
