Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Attentive and cordial staff (shout-out John E ) Loved all of our food, good beer list.

Nice atmosphere where not too loud despite being busy. Food was excellent: jerk chicken nachos were super tasty and relatively light. Shrimp and corn risotto delicious. Mocktail and beer good. Worth a visit

This is the 3rd Mallards location i've been to over the last year & generally seafood isn't my thing, which is why i've never had interest in going. This location is blocks away from my job as well as close to home. I recently looked over the menu and found that they offered quite a few non seafood options that sounded good enough for me. The menu at this location is a bit different than the others. They have some daily specials, HH and even some seasonal dishes. I went with the Tennessee Hot Chicken sandwich and my mom got the Crispy Lemon Chicken. The sandwich was good, wasn't as spicy as I hoped it would be but still good. I upgraded chips to cajun fries and those were good. The Crispy Lemon chicken was okay to me, my mom enjoyed it but didn't like the mashed potatoes it came with. She said they were too lumpy. We also shared a crab cake - still too fishy for me lol, but my mom liked it. I got a raspberry lemon drop martini and it was a bit watered down tasting but I'd definitely go back and try some other options. Our server was really nice and attentive. Made the experience overall great. Generally a nice space/atmosphere.

Service and food are both somewhat basic here. While staff is friendly they might need a little work for things like not bringing your appetizer and entrée at the very same time. Jambalaya was good and hearty. Not my favorite flavors, but probably just a different style. It would be nice if mocktails were included in the happy hour discount prices for cocktails.

Had family dinner with my in-laws at mallards, they ordered some appetizers the only one I tried was the jalapeno cornbread which was extremely good. My salad was great, service was decent a little slow but they were busy, so not anything to be upset about. Espresso martini was on point. Overall a very good experience.

Great food! Massive portions, and delicious Cajun spicing. We had a meeting here and it worked great, fun different food for the area and our booth worked perfectly for us to have a closed conversation. Bit loud but nothing out of the ordinary for an open space. I'll definitely be back! Brittany our server was amazing, quick, attentive, and on the ball!

I arrived around 8 PM on a Friday night, and the place was still lively. We were seated right away near the bar, just as we requested. We started with the walleye bites and elote corn fritters--both came out quickly. The walleye bites were my favorite, though the portion was a bit small. There was a special menu that night, and I went with the chilled lobster and shrimp roll served with fries. It arrived fast and was packed with flavor. A fun surprise: the restaurant has pull tabs! I played a few while waiting, which helped pass the time. Service was great overall, though we did have to track down our server at the end to pay the bill. All in all, I'd go back--especially for the walleye bites. I might even stop in again today.

Had such a nice evening meal here at Mallards. First time here and will come back again in the future. Made easy reservations online and when we came in we were seated right away. Our server Dylan G was super friendly, attentive and was knowledgeable about food allergies! I have celiac and he helped make me feel safe when ordering. The menu had lots of gluten free options and I decided in the healthy choice options of salmon and the broccoli and rices. Will come back again to enjoy!

    HOT CHICKEN & WAFFLES

Had a dinner at Mallards. Got the Nashville hot chicken and cornbread waffles. It was pretty good. The chicken was a bit too much flavor wise but I would get again. Waiter was great and was quick to check on us. The parking is quite a bit but it does share with other businesses.

Happy hour! Shrimp taco, Cajun fries, HH margarita

Nice location across 494 from the Best Buy corporate. Nice space and the menu has a great selection. I came here during happy hour and tried a couple of the items off that menu. The shrimp taco was good; came with a lot of shrimp and the sauce was tasty. The Cajun fries were sadly not good.. too many different spices that didn't compliment each other. I tried the $4 happy hour margarita and it had nice flavor, perhaps not much alcohol, but a tropical beach taste.

I've been here multiple times. The drinks are pretty good but quite sweet. The food is average. The service is good. My mom and I shared a crab cake and bang bang shrimp taco for happy hour special. The crab cake was okay, the shrimp taco was very good! I got the shrimp sautéed instead of fried. Lots of flavor- would have been happy with three of these. Lobster roll- I mean it's lobster in MN so you know what you're signing up for. It was fine. I didn't finish it. My mom seemed to enjoy her goat cheese eggs and potatoes. We like this place for its location and plenty of seating, but I always leave wanting a little more flavor.

Our server, John, is my favorite part of this restaurant. He is so sincere, so friendly, he looks you in the eyes, he really wants to connect. This was our second time at this restaurant and he remembered that I didn't like my food very spicy. Um, am I that memorable or that "Karen" or is this man incredible? I think the latter. He keeps the drinks flowing (and we don't drink alcohol) and the table clear of dirty plates, and has is not shy with recommendations (and he works in the kitchen too so he knows how the food is actually prepared.) We have had the brussel sprouts (perfectly done, nicely sweet sauce) the blackened shrimp with grits (not too spicy, a cheesey delight), meatloaf (not mine but my friend liked it), the salad with peanuts (a huge mound of nummyness!) It's got this on the ocean beach vibe but the food is always served in a presentation that is much fancier (especially considering the price point: a $16 salad, for example.) I don't know why this place isn't busier, so stop by, there is plenty of parking and plenty of room for dinner!

I met up with a friend for dinner, this restaurant is big. Right in the corner of a shopping area, tons of parking to choose from. They had a special on steak that day and I had to go with something nostalgic- meatloaf. It was pretty good, the sweet tomato glaze was surprisingly tasty with the dish, I usually have gravy on top. Service was great, she checked in on us quite often. Restaurant was big, gave me a steak house vibe, like land and sea.

The inside is beautiful and made for a really nice dining experience. We started with the Eichten's cheese curds, and they were excellent. They were soft on the inside, some had a great cheese pull, and the spicy dipping sauce paired really well with them. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites. The steak was seasoned well, cooked nicely, and didn't have much fat, which I appreciated. The fries were crispy and came with house-made ketchup. I usually don't even like ketchup, but this one was actually really good. My partner ordered the deviled eggs as his appetizer, and he enjoyed them so much he finished them in no time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. The only small downside was that the complimentary water tasted clean and fresh. But it was warm instead of cold. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service made for a great experience, and I'd happily return. Glad i was able to cross this one off of my list.

I ordered the 6 ounce sirloin, medium rare with buttered corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were really tasty and the sirloin was cooked medium rare. I did wish that it was cooked at a slightly lower heat because the outside was very very cooked and smoky. also, I had water with my meal and it had a very particular taste which I was not a fan of. good place and reasonably priced food…read more wife and I met up my in-laws for a bite on Saturday around 5pm. it wasn't crowded at all, and we were seated right away. (it did get busier while we were there) the menu isn't huge, but it has a big variety of items - burger, tacos, pastas, etc father in-law and I both opted for a burger, wife and monthe in-law split a burger and a fried chicken sandwich. verdicts on the burgers: they're half pound patties with a simple prep (just salt and pepper that I could tell). honestly, if you can't get a simple prep right, you have no business selling them. we all thoroughly enjoyed them. verdicts on the fried chicken sandwich: I didn't try it, so I'm relying on my wife here. she said it was just "ok". the chicken was a bit dry and lacked seasoning. it came with a Cajun remoulade sauce on the side that I did try. none of us really liked it. I felt it had way too much Cajun seasoning and just kind of overpowered everything. all sandwiches came with an absolute mountain of fries which were crispy, seasoned perfection. nothing is worse than soggy fries, and I would have walked out right then if they were floppy. well, not really, but I still hate soggy fries. ambiance: we were seated at a booth by the bar, so it was a little loud, but we were still able to hold a conversation without having to yell. price: mains range from $15-24, so not too bad. we didn't get any appetizers. I'd definitely go back and get another burger.

I came to Carmine's around 7 PM for the first time and was immediately told that they were full and…read morethat I couldn't be seated. What made the experience confusing was that I could see several empty tables, so I politely asked for clarification. I was then told there was an event happening, but there was no indication of an event, nor was I given any explanation about how that affected seating. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was seeing other people being welcomed in afterward without seemingly being informed that the restaurant was "full" or that an event was taking place. (Neither of which stated they were there for the event, and was seated at two of the empty tables.) I want to be careful about making assumptions about anyone's intentions, but as a diverse customer, the interaction left me feeling unwelcome and questioning whether I was being treated differently because of how I looked. There was no clear explanation, no alternative offered, and ultimately no opportunity for me to even experience the restaurant as a first-time customer. (Attempted to come back another day, was told the same thing, and was advised I could have beer, but no food or cocktails @ 6pm. Simply just left and gave up on this place.) I understand that businesses can have private events, capacity limitations, or other reasons for turning customers away. The issue was the lack of transparency and the way the situation was handled. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, mine was that I wasn't wanted there. The location itself seemed like it could be a nice place, which is why the experience was disappointing. I hope management takes a closer look at how situations like this are communicated and how all customers are made to feel welcome. (If that matters.)
