(Neither of which stated they were there for the event, and was seated at two of the empty tables.) I want to be careful about making assumptions about anyone's intentions, but as a diverse customer, the interaction left me feeling unwelcome and questioning whether I was being treated differently because of how I looked. There was no clear explanation, no alternative offered, and ultimately no opportunity for me to even experience the restaurant as a first-time customer. (Attempted to come back another day, was told the same thing, and was advised I could have beer, but no food or cocktails @ 6pm. Simply just left and gave up on this place.) I understand that businesses can have private events, capacity limitations, or other reasons for turning customers away. The issue was the lack of transparency and the way the situation was handled. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, mine was that I wasn't wanted there. The location itself seemed like it could be a nice place, which is why the experience was disappointing. I hope management takes a closer look at how situations like this are communicated and how all customers are made to feel welcome. (If that matters.)
