    FRIED WALLEYE SANDWICH
    Isaac S.

Great food! Massive portions, and delicious Cajun spicing. We had a meeting here and it worked great, fun different food for the area and our booth worked perfectly for us to have a closed conversation. Bit loud but nothing out of the ordinary for an open space. I'll definitely be back! Brittany our server was amazing, quick, attentive, and on the ball!

Service and food are both somewhat basic here. While staff is friendly they might need a little work for things like not bringing your appetizer and entrée at the very same time. Jambalaya was good and hearty. Not my favorite flavors, but probably just a different style. It would be nice if mocktails were included in the happy hour discount prices for cocktails.

I arrived around 8 PM on a Friday night, and the place was still lively. We were seated right away near the bar, just as we requested. We started with the walleye bites and elote corn fritters--both came out quickly. The walleye bites were my favorite, though the portion was a bit small. There was a special menu that night, and I went with the chilled lobster and shrimp roll served with fries. It arrived fast and was packed with flavor. A fun surprise: the restaurant has pull tabs! I played a few while waiting, which helped pass the time. Service was great overall, though we did have to track down our server at the end to pay the bill. All in all, I'd go back--especially for the walleye bites. I might even stop in again today.

Had such a nice evening meal here at Mallards. First time here and will come back again in the future. Made easy reservations online and when we came in we were seated right away. Our server Dylan G was super friendly, attentive and was knowledgeable about food allergies! I have celiac and he helped make me feel safe when ordering. The menu had lots of gluten free options and I decided in the healthy choice options of salmon and the broccoli and rices. Will come back again to enjoy!

    HOT CHICKEN & WAFFLES

Had a dinner at Mallards. Got the Nashville hot chicken and cornbread waffles. It was pretty good. The chicken was a bit too much flavor wise but I would get again. Waiter was great and was quick to check on us. The parking is quite a bit but it does share with other businesses.

Happy hour! Shrimp taco, Cajun fries, HH margarita

Nice location across 494 from the Best Buy corporate. Nice space and the menu has a great selection. I came here during happy hour and tried a couple of the items off that menu. The shrimp taco was good; came with a lot of shrimp and the sauce was tasty. The Cajun fries were sadly not good.. too many different spices that didn't compliment each other. I tried the $4 happy hour margarita and it had nice flavor, perhaps not much alcohol, but a tropical beach taste.

I've been here multiple times. The drinks are pretty good but quite sweet. The food is average. The service is good. My mom and I shared a crab cake and bang bang shrimp taco for happy hour special. The crab cake was okay, the shrimp taco was very good! I got the shrimp sautéed instead of fried. Lots of flavor- would have been happy with three of these. Lobster roll- I mean it's lobster in MN so you know what you're signing up for. It was fine. I didn't finish it. My mom seemed to enjoy her goat cheese eggs and potatoes. We like this place for its location and plenty of seating, but I always leave wanting a little more flavor.

Our server, John, is my favorite part of this restaurant. He is so sincere, so friendly, he looks you in the eyes, he really wants to connect. This was our second time at this restaurant and he remembered that I didn't like my food very spicy. Um, am I that memorable or that "Karen" or is this man incredible? I think the latter. He keeps the drinks flowing (and we don't drink alcohol) and the table clear of dirty plates, and has is not shy with recommendations (and he works in the kitchen too so he knows how the food is actually prepared.) We have had the brussel sprouts (perfectly done, nicely sweet sauce) the blackened shrimp with grits (not too spicy, a cheesey delight), meatloaf (not mine but my friend liked it), the salad with peanuts (a huge mound of nummyness!) It's got this on the ocean beach vibe but the food is always served in a presentation that is much fancier (especially considering the price point: a $16 salad, for example.) I don't know why this place isn't busier, so stop by, there is plenty of parking and plenty of room for dinner!

I met up with a friend for dinner, this restaurant is big. Right in the corner of a shopping area, tons of parking to choose from. They had a special on steak that day and I had to go with something nostalgic- meatloaf. It was pretty good, the sweet tomato glaze was surprisingly tasty with the dish, I usually have gravy on top. Service was great, she checked in on us quite often. Restaurant was big, gave me a steak house vibe, like land and sea.

Delivery was reasonably fast, as the restaurant wasn't far so the food arrived within about 35 minutes. The temperature was moderate, so just heated it up but the dish itself was fantastic; moderate amounts of clam meat and thankfully half shell clams were included. They had the clam broth on the side in a separate container which I appreciated. This allowed for you to add as much broth as you wanted to your meal. I highly recommend and am looking forward to ordering this again when I'm back in town.

Don't get me wrong: the lobster roll is just as terrific as the one downtown! But the service was a disappointment, and the quality of prep work leaves something to be desired. We watched two other tables, seated after we were, get waited on and receive their food before we could finally flag our waiter down to place our order. The crab cakes on the Niçoise salad were perfectly sized and delicious, but the potatoes and beans had not been adequately trimmed. Note well: if your order contains olives, some of them may have pits. I don't blame the kitchen for this -- it's always a risk with olives. There's a hefty amount of industrial plastic covering part of the kitchen. This was evident on the way to the restrooms. So perhaps they're experiencing growing pains, or equipment replacement, plus Operation Metro Surge has not been kind to the hospitality industry! I'm hopeful that things could improve. In the meanwhile, though, we're sticking with the original when we want that perfect lobster roll.

Our server Dawson was very polite and attentive. The inside is very clean and has good vibes and decor. Order: combo 2 meat platter. Included LA kalbi, thin cut bulgogi and marinated pork. Great flavor and big chunks of pork that added great texture and taste. All the little side dishes were delicious. The highlights were the korean style potato salad, radish kimchi and marinated soy radishes. Yum. So delicious. All are refilled throughout the meal so enjoy as much as you want. Owned and operated by three brothers, this family-owned restaurant serves incredible Ecuadorian and Mexican-inspired dishes. If you visit, you'll most likely be greeted and served by one of the owners, who treat you like family--wholesome and genuinely high-quality hospitality without doing too much. The service provided and the love poured into the food are comparable to none. I've frequented this restaurant several times, throughout several years, and I've never had a bad experience or a bad meal. Some of my favorite dishes here include: - Empanadas de Carne or Vegetariana: Beef or vegetable empanadas. These empanadas are pan-fried corn dough, stuffed with your choice of tender, juicy, perfectly cooked braised beef or fresh vegetables. The empanadas are served on a bed of roasted tomato salsa and crema casera. The crispiness and warmth of the empanadas, combined with the tanginess of the sauces, make this dish my absolute favorite. If you're undecided in the appetizer section, this would be the one thing I would absolutely make sure you order. - The guacamole is made with fresh avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro, roasted tomato, salsa, and served with crispy corn chips. It is one of their top-selling items as it is made fresh to order, and absolutely delicious as such. - The shrimp ceviche is another favorite! Made with a blend of tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and citrus juice, this ceviche is both juicy and packed with tons of flavor. It's the perfect light and refreshing appetizer. - The Tostones and fried yucca, each crispy and crunchy, are also excellent options for sharing or nibbling solo before your main dish. - The Carne Asada is one of my go-to lunches when I visit. Overnight, marinated steak is grilled to perfection and served with achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice, black bean purée, French fries, and a small house salad. It's good comfort food cooked with love and an incredible amount of - The Lomo saltado dish is sautéed beef tips that are very tender, rich, and flavorful. The combination with the red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes is sensational. Paired with an achiote (yellow, seasoned) rice that waters your mouth, as well as a side house salad served with a tangy lime vinaigrette that will blow you away. - The Mexican Tres leches is my absolute favorite version! I've tried several, not all, across the Twin Cities, and this is always easily my favorite. A homemade cake soaked with a blend of three milks, whipped cream, caramel chocolate, and topped with crispy coconut flakes. This dessert is decadent as it is delicious. In addition to these dishes, Cahill Bistro offers happy hour Sunday-Thursday from 3:00-5:30pm with specials on appetizers and drinks. They also have daily soup specials and brunch on Saturdays. Cahill Bistro has consistently won multiple awards for best Latin American food in the Twin Cities, and for me, there is no debate about that. Cahill Bistro is my #1!
