Vibes are great here. Drinks are really good and descent prices for the quality of drinks. Street parking is available and no entrance fee. Make sure you eat prior to coming they don't offer food and there isn't anything around to buy.

I was in the mood for a new bar so I tried Mals bar on Hill and 24 it's in a dark area of Downtown LA so if you are Afraid of the dark or the Night Crawlers this is not the place for you but it felt like home to me with 7 dollar well drinks Free Popcorn with hot sauce if that is your thing and 3 dollar hotdogs. They also have one pool table flat screen tvs through out the location, there are tables outside to eat drink and socialize., there is also a jukebox with the latest music., so if you are looking for a place in Downtown for a drink I recommend you try Mals and the bartender is very accommodating

Just south of DTLA in a low key quieter area, just a block away from LATC. Chill dive bar, well maintained with indoor and outdoor seating. Cocktails and beers are cheap and reasonable. No frills here, stiff well drinks and macro beers. The bartenders are quick and the vibe is pleasant. Easy to find street parking. We had a blast for Smiths/Morrissey night. I will definitely be back.

Came in on a Tuesday night. Pretty chill spot! Drinks are very reasonable. Bartender had a nice pour. There is a pool table and plenty of space.

Came to watch the Laker game and the bartender is nice and attentive! I recommend Mal's to anyone wanting to come.

This was the last stop in a night where Conrad and I stepped out to LA to have a good time. So by…read morethe time I got there I was tipsy. I was not falling down the stairs, nor was I slurring my words, nor was I misaligning my pool shots, but I was definetely feeling the good inside my blood. I note this, not to highlight my cool factor as if I was a frat bro in a Florida party school, but more to describe how my experience was fogged by my consumption. This place was definetely a hot spot to hit, but I just will not be able to descrbie everything with speicifc detail, more, broad strokes of a good time. The place is reached by going down a flight of stairs, which feels like one is going to catch the J line in New York. I think I felt this more because of the Spring St sign- a famous stop in NY, NY. As soon, I got there, the goal was to continue the good time and this place allowed that at a reasonable price. They had these can drinks that I really responded and they were only 7 dollars. Ok, I know that saying something is only 7 dollars in this economy can seem out of touch. But a drink in LA most of the time will run you at least 12 to 16 dollars, and I think it is mostly on the 16 side. So finding a 7 dollar drink in a hot spot is refreshing. It was a Suncruiser- a vodka spirit based drink- that was part of their specials for their night. maybe is more expensive on other nights when it is not on special? After the drink Conrand and I stepped into their floor. It was the first time we were there and it is basically a basement game room on whatever it is that Bane takes to make himself go from puny human to muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle villain. There is a lot of pool tables maybe like 5, and I saw ping pong, and other table games. Additionally, instead of a speaker or a recorder- the one's that spin old timey records- there was a band. I took a short video of the band but I could not tell you if this band was good or bad or their name or their style of music. I was partly present, and I just heard the music, I did not appreciate the performers. It happens. So Conrad and I play all the time together. And I saw a guy playing by himself. We quickly introduced oursevles and then we played pool. Here is the thing that I am happy to write about this place. Unline a regular bar with a pool table, where every one knows your name, this place had the opportunity to meet new people. And I enjoyed playing with this guy. He was a new challenge. He had fresh stories. And he offered a view of the world I enjoyed. So this place offers the opportunity to meet new people over a game of pool. If pool is your thing than this place will make you happy an if pool is your way of meeting new folks then this place will make you happy and give you opportunities to find the folks you imagine you need in your life. In the final analysis, I want to go here again, and experience the place more broadly. Not sure if I will write a new Yelp, because even though I bared bone this one, it still gives the primary messages I want to. And to the guy who I played with thanks for having a good time with me, even if it was short. And sometimes, short, can be just enough.

THIS IS THE PERFECT VENUE FOR A VAMPIRE ROCKSTAR…read more Meaning that it's the perfect venue for Kamijo! If you don't know who he is, definitely look up his solo work, his work in Lareine and Versailles, you will NOT be disappointed. Paid parking all around, but if you're brave and willing to circle around and walk a bit, free street parking is possible. Due to an accident on the freeway, we barely made it here 10-15 minutes before the show, and most people were already let in, but security was pretty efficient and checking in was very quick too. There's drinks, concessions (it's a theater, you know), and the merchandise was strangely being sold in the middle area when you enter and exit, but staff was situated to direct people and assist you at every line and entrance into the theater. We got orchestra seating right before the balcony ends and with the sloping of the seats, we were able to see decently well, even if our seats weren't the best of the best. I guess, based on the crowd and the audience, even though we had assigned seating, everyone ended up standing up for the entire performance. A bit strange, but less stressful in a sense that you don't necessarily have to camp there super early as your seat is already assigned (you would have to though if you wanted any of the sold out merch...). We were lucky enough that there weren't any super tall people in front of us. Lighting was great, sound quality was amazing and at no point did any instrumentals or the vocals get drowned out. But the most impressive part was the architecture. Absolutely gorgeous. Probably the most favorite of all of the venues I've been to thus far. I can see why Kamijo chose this theater. It's perfect for an immortal vampire like himself. I wish we got there a bit earlier (not just only for merch), but for the opportunity to take photos which I saw a lot of people do. The lovely hanging chandeliers, the painted ceilings, aged gold archways, the Spanish Gothic style modeled after Spain's Segovia Cathedral. It didn't feel like we were in LA anymore after stepping in. So much history in this building from the 1920's . When you're in there, look up, look around, it's just so intricately and beautifully designed. Apparently the restrooms had a powder room too, so nice! I would love to go to another event here in the future.

Here, VIP balcony or Lower Balcony is the only way to go. 2) Sound. Here, especially on the balcony, bass and clarity for a hip hop show of this caliber was on point. 3) Cleanliness and Space. Restrooms were very clean, well tended to and sufficient with enough stalls so no lines stealing from your time to enjoy the show. Whole venue has simple, real class to it. 4) In & Out with ease. Security smooth, plenty of exit options, including an elevator with an attendant. I don't like feeling crowded or like I'm gettin' caught in a cow herd. The Hollywood Bowl is the only venue I'd compromise this preference for simply because it's the only venue worth that sacrifice. 5) Parking. Lots of parking but get there early enough and check for other events the same day as your show. We made the mistake of not coming early enough to account for the Laker game that day. I enjoyed this show WAY more than the previous show with Dayseeker, but this is mainly because I am more familiar with the artist, so this would be the second time that I got to see Matt and their crew perform twice. The venue itself is really nice and modernized, and is located in an entertainment hub, so you will see a good amount of bars and other entertainment venues nearby. I do know that it is not a ground-floor venue, so you have to climb stairs or take an escalator/elevator. I personally do not buy concessions here due to me being cheap, but they offer free water at the bars, which I personally like, as most venues force you to purchase bottled water or use a drinking fountain. The cheap tickets are all part of the upstairs seated area, while the lower floor area costs more. From what I know, there aren't really any assigned seats, so it's first come first serve, but you will have people standing up during the main act, of course, because concertgoers will be concertgoers. The seats are very comfortable, bathrooms are accessible, and people who need ADA seating get their own separate section. The location, given that it's in DTLA, is so accessible by public transit that I can't even name all of the buses that run nearby off the top of my head. You can also take the 2 nearby trains, the A and the E, and get off at Pico station the same way you would for a Lakers, Sparks, or Kings game, Crypto.com Arena concert, or LA Convention Center event. I am somewhat familiar with the DTLA area, and I recommend concertgoers, if they feel comfortable doing so, to explore cheaper eating options away from the area if they plan to save money-- I do this all the time. I know that there is a Denny's, Wendy's, and Fatburger down the street. You have Chick Fil-A, Chipotle, 7-Eleven, and Jollibee along 7th Street by the BLOC area. You can also ride the train or bus to go further out-- there is a Dave's Hot Chicken by Little Tokyo Japanese Plaza that I love going to all the time. Dutch Bros by USC just opened up, by the California ScienCenter.
