We ate here this week. We arrived around 5:15pm on a weeknight and were able to get a table right away. It was starting to get busy though. We had the crab legs and the seafood boil for two. All of the food had incredible taste and flavor and if ever in Corolla again, I will definitely want to come back here for the food. Even the hush puppies were so flavorful and had a unique seasoning to them that we all enjoyed. The only thing about the food that we didn't like was the shrimp. The shrimp still had the legs on them and most of them still had the vein and black stuff in them, which we don't like to eat even though it is technically safe to do so when cooked to proper temperature. We just left those shrimp and tore up all the other food because it was so amazing! Service was fast. You get seated here and handed a menu. Once you know what you want, you go to the counter and order. They bring out the food and you can fix your own drink at the fountain machine. When you leave they clean up the table. The dining room is indoor or outdoor and very low key. Shorts, tees, and flip flops are fine to wear here. read more

Quick and delicious service! My mom and I stopped here around 1:30PM after one of the horse tours and were able to sit outside. We got the fried tomatoes to share (10/10) and she got the special spicy tuna sandwich with a side salad. The tuna was more of a tuna steak than a tuna salad which we expected so that was a nice surprise but the salad can be skipped. I got the grilled mahi sandwich (8/10) and hush puppies (10/10) and then a half a pound of crab legs ~$13 market price and those were delicious with the drawn butter on the side! What a find!!!! Maybe I should start this review by saying do not make the same mistake certain family members made. We built this place up so much they went to go have a fancy dinner. This place isn't a fancy dinner type of place. This place instead is a perfect lunch spot or quick and easy, casual dinner location. The food is phenomenal. The fried green tomatoes are the best I've ever had. Literally. Bravo!!! The wings were crispy and delicious and the shrimp po boy was made special by the ridiculously fresh and juicy fried shrimp. They have the friendliest service in the outer banks. The people working there seem like they LOVE their job and they show it with the way they interact with each other and the customers. This place had pretty good food but the place is so small and packed with too many people in it. You also order up at the register and have to get your own refill which would be fine if the place wasn't so small and dread getting up in fear you literally can't get around the other people and tables. However like i said the food was good and workers were nice but definitely a place to order takeout only until they can expand their dining room or do something different. read more

The main courses, which were fried shrimp and fries, and fried oyster po' boy and sweet potato tots were average. The sweet potato tots had cinnamon sugar on them, which made them not desirable with seafood. The service was fine. They seat you and bring you menus. Then you order at a take out bar and they give you a cup and you refill it yourself. We sat outside on a deck and it was nice. However, the chairs you kind of fell back into and had to sit on the edge of so you could eat your food. The total for the appetizer, 2 main courses, and 2 sodas was $75. read more

Too expensive for what you get. Pretty bland and boring fare. My cheese steak had about 2 ounces of steak on it. My wife's oysters were very low quality and not cleaned well (found 3 pearls in fried oysters-that should not happen). Overall a very disappointing lunch considering the reviews we saw. Food was okay but service and cleanliness was terrible. Food (crab cakes and fish sandwich) took about 45 minutes. No one came by the table during the entire time. The ice machine beside the beverage machines had people getting ice for themselves and without a scooper. This is not an ice machines that you simply put your cup under and get ice. It's a bin ice machine and people are putting their hands and cups inside, self helping themselves; cross contamination happening for sure. This is probably a health department violation.... Had a great night at Mama Easley's. It was 8-9 years ago that I last stopped in. I had one of the best fish tacos I've ever had. We were back again and I was hoping it was still open. Thank God it was, and it's been thriving. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, but the hospitality was over the top! It was busy, we had a five minute wait by the water out back and promptly were seated. I was craving for clam strips, they didn't disappoint and the wife had blackened shrimp. The customer service was extremely disrespectful. I have never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant before. First, there is no clear indication that you have to be seated by a host. Once we realized this, our group found a worker to ask for the correct process. The male "host" (who appeared to be the manager) asked us for the number, and when I hesitated, he said in aggravated tone "you should know". Once I said our group number, he asked where was the rest of the group was, and we indicated they were waiting in the restroom line. The host irritably sighed, and told us where to sit. Due to the unpleasant service of the male host, our group decided to leave. Highly recommend going next to door to First Light, where they treat their customers with respect. read more

Arrived at 1:15pm on a Saturday in July, waited by the sign that said "please wait to be seated for at least 10 minutes before I had to hunt someone down, they gave me a table outside and when I ordered my food said to please be patient.. I asked how long it would take, (I was alone, and ordered one plate of scallops with Tater Tots) they said about 25 minutes.. after 40 minutes went by, I stood up to walk in and check on the food and she was bringing it out. She threw the basket on the table and a tater tot flipped out onto the table. She said "here you go ". But the entire hour I was there not one person stopped at my table to give any update at all. The staff was rude and not helpful. The food was mediocre, the scallops breading was falling off, they didn't remove the top side muscle and they didn't drain them so the grease on the bottom of the basket made them all soggy. The only passable thing about the meal was they didn't overcook the scallops. I will not be returning. $40 for scallops and a few tater tots was extremely excessive for the quality, and of course you tip upfront when you pay so I couldn't even adjust that to reflect the actual service. read more

This place is a great restaurant tucked away! We ordered the fresh flounder basket and the clam strips! Both were excellent. We went here twice! I would have given this an even better rating but both times we were asked to move to a different table. One was because our party was too small. they moved us to a high top with our toddler(Def not safe). The second time they put us inside at a big table and then asked us to move when a bigger party came in after we had already ordered our food. Popped in here after the wild horses keep tour, so we were exhilarated but also cold and hungry. Mama Easley's to the rescue! Order at the counter then go sit down. Crab legs so DELISH we ordered 2 nights in a row. The butter could be better though, you can taste it isn't the highest quality. The first night, we got crab legs, scallops, and peel shrimp. The scallops were over cooked, wouldn't get those again. The shrimp were also a little over cooked, but I expected that for takeout I guess. Crab legs were still good though!!! The second night, we got the deep fried shrimp which had tons of flavor and the breading was really good. We got crab legs again of course! Then we also got fries with our order which weren't seasoned well and takeout fries never end up the best. Onion rings were very good though and still were a little crispy upon arrival to the house. My wife and I came here with a larger group for dinner. It was getting late on a Wednesday evening and we were in search of a place to get really good seafood without waiting for 3 hours or the place being understaffed. I called Mama Easley's and they indicated they would have some availability if we could arrive in a short amount of time. Our group headed on down to the Timbuk II plaza where Mama Easley's restaurant sits tucked in the back corner. When we arrived we had a half hour wait. It was a nice evening and so we headed outside to lawn chairs in front of the restaurant. 30 minutes later we were inside, placing our orders, and then seated. I ended up ordering the fried green tomatoes appetizer. It looked really good from previous pictures and it did not disappoint. The tomatoes were sliced thick and then friend crispy. The toppings of onion, diced tomato, bacon, and an aioli all complimented the crunchiness of the fried tomato. For dinner I ordered the special, fried soft shell crab sandwich! I love good soft shell crab and I feel like it is fairly hard to find fresh/good sandwiches. I don't trust places that have this on their menu all year long. Mama Easley's "specials" were a handwritten piece of paper posted next to the cash register. The sandwich ended up being excellent, was really happy with the flavor, crunch, and size of the sandwich. Overall this was a really good place to come for seafood. Mama Easley's provides more of the southern backcountry seafood prep which scratched a seafood itch for our group. Fast, attentive service and tasty food. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon during our stay in Duck for Thanksgiving week. We planned to stroll around Tim Buck ll so Mama Easley's was a good choice. The indoor seating area was full except for a high top in the corner for four. Luckily it was big enough for my small family. Tables were stocked with everything we might need: plastic utensils, paper towels, wet wipes, condiments. We looked at the menu pretty quickly and my husband went to the counter to place our orders. Another fortunate moment because he got our orders placed before the other three parties that were there and seated before us. Within 10 minutes our food arrived at our table (a pound of snow crab legs, fried shrimp basket, fish and chips and a pound of steamed shrimp). We helped ourselves to the soda dispenser (Pepsi products only) and we were done eating within 20min. Our food was fresh out the the fryer/steamer and our server was very attentive even though he was super busy (he looked like the only person in the restaurant). While vacationing in OBX, we went looking for some fresh quality seafood and that's exactly what we found at Mama Easley's. We ordered the calamari, 1lb shrimp, 1lb snow crab legs, and some hush puppies to top it off. The shrimp and crab legs were both fresh and simply prepared. The calamari was tasty and not over battered. The shrimp & crab were both fresh and simply prepared (I preferred having the shrimp simply seasoned and not fried). Ok, so totally stumbled across this awesome spot and was able to chat with the owner, Vinny for awhile while watching March madness! First, great menu. Crowd pleasers for all. Second, cute spot, not too big, not too small and super DOG FRIENDLY!! Vinny has owned for 10 years. COVID took it's toll, but he has been able to upgrade equipment and keep people employed, looking forward to this coming 2021 season. Go here and support them!!
