The one and only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is there isn't much seating, we were lucky to get two tables for our group but many were turned away due to space. I did notice that there is space next to them - that's much larger than what they are in now, and we were all talking and hoping that on next year's vacation they will be in that space instead so we can really enjoy our time there. :) read more

Not sure how we missed this place in past visits but definitely enjoyed our meal here! Seven of us had our final seafood meal here for our week at the Outer Banks and won't miss it again! My fried oysters were outstanding and fries were really tasty too. Everyone enjoyed their meal, even our chicken nugget girl. We will be sure to come next year. This place had great reviews and we were looking forward to dinner. Service started off good. But the guy who took our order never added my kids meal even tho he even asked if fries were okay.... so everyone else food arrives and we asked about the kids meal she says it's coming okay no big deal. Then 10 min later she comes and says it was never rung in, what did we have she'll get it out right away. Said chicken nuggets & fries. Waited over 20 min, everyone else is done eating at this point. My mom goes up and asks the girl how much longer and she informs us she has a ton of orders and it hasn't even been started yet, so we left and had to take my kids somewhere else for food. We went to the Currituck lighthouse on 5/7/17. Looking for a quaint place to eat lunch. We found Mama Easley's in the Timbuckll village shoppes. Tucked in the corner. It was a little breezy but sat outside anyway. We had fried green tomatoes for an appetizer "Delicious " my husband had the wings, tender, juicy Good! My son said the Best Hamburger he has had! I had the shrimp Poboy sandwich, also wonderful! A wonderful little hole in the wall. The two young gentlemen who ran the restaurant were friendly, attentive and seemed to enjoy their work. Nice view on the porch with casual fare, we tried the fish and chips and the clam strips. Clam strips were giant fat clams: really yummy. The fish and chips tho! To die for. When we walked into this place, I didn't have high expectations. Let me tell you, this place is a hidden gem. The guys working there were so sweet and accommodating and fantastic cooks. We visited Mama Easly's based on reviews, and they certainly didn't disappoint. We ordered burgers and fries. The patties were not pre-made, and were juicy and flavorful. FABULOUS burger. The fries were seasoned and different but good. Service was fast and friendly, in fact the cook even told my husband the secret to the fries. I'd give Mama Easley's 5 stars, but it was tricky to find (it actually is adjacent to an empty storefront and we thought for a moment they were closed), and the decor wasn't overly impressive. It just had a basic beach restaurant feel. Also while the restaurant interior appeared clean, it wasn't very clean outside where we dined. I still recommend it due to the delicious food! read more

The food was decent. The wait. The size of the place and the waitress were a train wreck. There is a narrow hallway to get in and get out. It makes social distancing impossible. You order at the counter and get your own drinks. Also not an issue. The fried green tomatoes (FGT) were cooked well. The seasoning and drizzle was a little on the sparse side but the freshness of the tomato made up for it a little salt and pepper is all I really need. They had lettuce tomato and onion along with the FGT. Not sure why but it came in handy when I got my PO boy sandwich. Dry as the sand on the beach. Not what I am accustomed to at all. The shrimp was cooked well but desperately needed something else - like depth and flavor. The bun was just a hot dog roll not toasted or grilled. Thank goodness I didn't have to wait on the waitress for water. They split our party of 8 because they do not hold tables - I get it. The party of eight that was right next to us finished before we even got our appetizers. Figured we'd move over and open 2 four tops for them. They informed us the table was being held... wait what? They didn't hold tables but they were holding a table. So we sat and waited and watched our waitress walk around with our appetizers asking tables inside and outside if they ordered them and then walked back into the kitchen. Meanwhile two people sat down at the table that seated 8 and no one ever joined them. I was told later that they don't like to move people after their seated because it confuses the wait staff... News flash - the current system isn't working for her either. Finally got our appetizers after about 35 minutes and they were hot so not the same ones as earlier. The calamari was nothing special - I guess there's only so much you can do with that dish. The service and the lack of organization are definitely going to hurt this place in the long run - If the lack of seating and poor location doesn't first. Takeout has probably been the best thing for them. Food was OK but not what I anticipated based on other reviews and pictures. I'll stick with Uncle Ike's up the road. They were closed and we decided to try Mama's and won't be back. If you are closer to Duck try coastal cravings and/or Red Sky Cafe. Both are excellent. read more

My husband wanted to come back the next day on our drive out for another burger. This is the guy who almost always says his meal was "okay." The sweet tater tots were amaaaazing and I had a sweet adult beverage strawberry something that was unique and super yummy, recommended by the cashier. With their popularity I can't imagine the current space working forever as their were 3 tables total squeezed together to the point where my husband and daughter just had to wait until we were all done to get out of their bench seat. I can't recommend Mama Easley's highly enough. I showed up with a large group and I think we ordered almost everything on the menu. Everybody was pleased with what they had. The standouts were the fish sandwich, lemon pepper chicken, and scallops but nothing was better than the fried green tomatoes. These were incredible. All of the food was cooked to order and the quality of the food was exceptional. It was the freshest fish I've had on the OBX. The beer section was awesome and the staff was super helpful in recommending great beer based on your interests. Next to the food, the service was some of the best I've had in the country. I came with my starving 3 year old who was in the middle of a hangry freak out. One of the staff, the owner maybe, grabbed a stool from the tiny bar and brought it out to him as a "magic chair". This calmed him for a couple of minutes. When we moved inside and my kid freaked out again, he brought the magic chair back to him. I have a feeling this guy would do whatever it takes to make sure everyone felt like family here. Thank you, you magnificent stranger. You saved our dinner. By far our favorite place when we're in corolla. The fried green tomatoes are the best around and our go to appetizer. Every dish here is phenomenal. Love the po' boys. Haven't been disappointed yet.
