I was at at a training walking distance from this restaurant so we went to try it. The atmosphere was nice and the music was good. Unfortunately my first experience here won't have me coming back. The bistro box price was lunch was reasonable you had a few different choices. The unfortunate part for me was as I was enjoying the terriyaki chicken I found a long hair in my chicken that was covered in sauce. This was disgusting to find. We called the waitress over and she genuinely felt bad and immediately removed the food. They made a new one for me but at this point I was disgusted and couldn't eat. I'm sure I could of complained enough to have my meal comped but I didn't. The fact that they did not offer that and charged me the meal was a no go. Look, I'm really not trying to be a dick but the sushi was pretty gross. The rice was really mushy/clumpy and weird tasting like it was either old or over cooked, maybe both! I know it's not how it should be because I frequent a lot of other great sushi spots in Los Angeles and know what to expect. I wanted to try this place out because it seems like maybe it's under new management, but I wasn't happy with the food and won't be coming back. read more

There are many different rolls to choose from, but you should think of quality over quantity especially for sushi. I did enjoy the tuna crispy rice, but the rice was a bit harder than it should be. The Naughty Girl roll is good, and the BAD roll (tempura roll) is good when it come out hot. We were not impressed with the Salmon Attack as the shrimp tempura inside the roll is over-fried and over-battered. The unagi (eel) also did not taste very good. The raw oysters on half shells tasted fishy. The batter for ice cream tempura is too thin, and the vanilla ice cream is not very smooth. Overall, it's a fun experience to order many rolls to try as the price is around $6-$12 per roll. Some of the rolls are hit or miss. Remember to pay with cash for a discount. Even though it's a couple blocks walk from the free 90 min parking structures, there are street parking, and a parking lot on the corner of Holly and Fair Oaks for $5 evening parking. This sushi joint is definitely better than Wokano down the street, but Kabuki still wins my vote. read more

Good sushi, horrible name! I came here for Happy Hour and the restaurant was half filled. Parking is on the street. Free metered parking after 8 PM! The location is great because it's off busy Colorado, but definitely walking distance to Old Town. Salmon Attack: my favorite roll of the night! My friend said, "This is the best roll I've ever had in my life!" Haha. It's shrimp tempura with crab salad inside and topped with salmon, green onion, and fried garlic. They gave generous slices of salmon on top and the flavors was really good. I love fried garlic! Spicy Tuna Crunch: a bit too sweet for me with the eel sauce. A bit lighter on the sauce and it would have been perfect. Rainbow Roll: good but I've had better elsewhere. They were once again generous with the tuna and salmon slices. But they skimped on the sashimi slices on the middle rolls. Service was fast and efficient. Our waitress refilled our waters whenever it was low and was super nice. I would come here again, especially for Happy Hour! The regular menu looked decently price. read more

"Best And Delicious" sushi is a great spot for lunch. The quality of the fish is not the best, but it certainly doesn't have the generic Kabuki taste. The way I usually determine a good from great sushi joint is by the Eel (Unagi) sushi. Unfortunately, BAD didn't pass the test. I love how there is a whole page dedicated to rolls with no rice! They have a lot of healthy options, as well as a ton of the deep fried mayo drenched rolls. I will most certainly come back to try more of their rice-less roles! read more

We ordered lunch for 7 people through Seamless/GrubHub. As I was eating my lunch, I pulled a thin black hair out of my white rice. Hence, lost my appetite and will no longer be ordering from this place. Since the employees obviously don't wear hairnets, I wonder if they wash their hands after using the bathroom. read more

Note to self - Don't eat here again. I was in Pasadena for a 2 day meeting. There are a ton of choices right where I was. I can't believe that I had to stumble into this one. I didn't download Yelp on my new phone, so I couldn't read the reviews, but it's Pasadena...right? Nope. App Store, Yelp, Now. The fish was not fresh. The decor was nice. The service was good and the chefs were very pleasant. They have balls to name it BAD Sushi. Too bad the sushi didn't hold up, otherwise this would have been a fun review to write. Had dinner there this evening. We popped in just before happy hour ended (it ends at 7pm). We ordered a bunch of delicious food, gyoza, shrimp tempura, rainbow roll, spicy tuna rolls, salmon and tuna sushi and some others I can't remember. It was all delicious and very reasonably priced with the happy hour. I left feeling full and content with the quality of sushi we got. Not too much rice in their rolls and sushi. I availed of the happy hour and ordered a large Sapporo ($2.95). All in all a good deal for an early dinner. Decent sushi for the price you pay. I would describe it as a more upscale version of sushi stop. Better quality of fish. I loved the spicy tuna on crunchy rice and the garlic and eel roll. Their spicy edamame were good, nothing spectacular. Got a free green tea with my check-in. Price came out to 25 per person for a group of 4. I think I would've paid five more dollars to get AYCE sushi though. read more

Have been coming here consistently for a while now and it's my go to sushi spot for affordable and delicious sushi. I haven't ventured out from the happy hour menu even after a dozen or more dinning dates here but that speaks to the variety of the happy hour menu that they have that keeps me ordering from this menu. I'll tell you my go to favoritos from the Happy Hour Menu: Spicy Garlic Edamame, Happy Hand Roll, Crying Tuna and Love at First Bite! Hands down the best! Other favorites that are not on the Happy Hour Menu is the Short Ribs. The customer service is excellent. Servers are so nice and always smiling and accommodating. I'm a loyal customer and will continue to come and enjoy their food. read more

We loved this spot before the pandemic, but we find they keep bringing it with take out food. So good and fresh and clean. Everything we have ordered has been excellent. I am not a sushi connoisseur by any means but I appreciate when sushi places have enough options for a non-fish eater. I think this is the first sushi restaurant I've been to that I left feeling full. The flavors were great and their willingness to customize items was greatly appreciated. I definitely will visit again. FYI: there are a few places to park on the street but just to the side of their building is an alley with parking lots down the way. They are pay lots but it's extremely convenient to pay via their (the lot's) app. read more

BSCR was good, Salmon Lover roll was good.. overall it has interesting sauces and roll combos.. their special rolls were all like valentine rolls all about love, overall it was good, not the best but good. Really really good place. It was walking distance from the hotel and no wait to be seated, as I understand it there is some places nearby that have extensive waits, so good location. The only thing and I mean the only thing that held me back from a 5 Star was the short girl seemed super angry like she was talking crap about people all the time and the noodles in the ramen were more like vermicelli then traditional style noodles. And don't get me wrong she had great customer service and was present it was just off putting, everyone else was super nice and helpful. Black garlic ramen.....wow. read more

I feel so conflicted about this place because I very easily could have been a Five Star Place. My Two Friends and I were in town for the recent Coldplay concert and were looking for about an hour and a half for a place to eat around town that was good. We had checked out 2 places prior but decided to keep looking and when we saw how great the reviews here were and how nice the restaurant looked we were ecstatic! The food looked delicious and when we called ahead to see if there was room we were thrilled to hear they had one table left! Good reviews, good pictures, and busy for such a small place were all good signs that this might be a great place! Happy hour prices were decent, but the quality of the food was great! Customer Service had started out wonderful, seated right away, waitress took our order and put it in fast. The first wave of our order arrived within 15 minutes which was great. However after that the customer service was down hill. We didn't see the waitress for another 20 minutes and when we finally tracked her down and put in our 2 order. The food took a bit longer than the previous time and not all of our food even came out. By then we needed to get going so that we weren't late for the concert. So we asked if the last part of our order, which was only a 2 piece masago with a quail egg, could be cancelled if the chef had not started making it and the for the check. It then proceeded to take 40 minutes to receive the check after I went up 3 more times to the waitress and the front counter for the check. We finally received the check when I stood there and waited for them to print it out. As I said before we loved the food, the restaurant was very nice, but the poor customer service lost them 3 stars. Hopefully others have better experiences, but after all the effort they gave us a half hearted 'sorry' and we ended up missing the first opening band and half of the second opener. I know the Name of your restaurant is suppose to be ironic but sadly you lived up to you name read more

Facebook 50% deal ended on 12/24/12 but I think they still give 25% Holiday discount. After 6hours drive from Vegas, hubby and I decided to have sushi dinner. It was packed when we came in but we were seated right away. Servers are really great. Love at first bite roll tastes really good. Ceviche- needs a little more flavor but it's goods since there's lots of sashimi Ell Garlic Roll- We've never had a sushi with garlic and this one is the bomb! We'll be coming back soon. read more

We were never asked if we wanted to order drinks and was not asked if we wanted to add anything else at any point of our meal. Could we have asked? Yes. But there's a level of expectation from the service with a restaurant like this where they're promoting an exceptional dining experience. The courses felt rushed at some points and then other times there was a longer wait in between. It wasn't consistent. Knowing how it is at the other location, the hospitality level was not on par. Aside from it being 85 degrees, and getting slow service from the waitress considering there was one other table, the food was good, but not great. There is an abundance of different menu items to slow your decision making process that is for sure. Nothing that we ordered was undesirable, yet nothing was so good that it was scarfed up right away. This is definitely a more americanized version of sushi, but sometimes that is what you are looking for. I should have paid more attention to the name BAD before I drove all the way there. The place it's REALLY BAD, bad service, bad prices, bad location, no parking only if you are lucky you can find one street meter space, small place and all the tables are so close that you cannot have a private conversation, THEY CHARGE FOR GINGER this is super bad and also super cheap. I am allergic to shrimp and crab and they did not want to make any substitutions due to my allergy. Woah mama! This amazing little spot puts a lot of effort into crafting their sushi. The rolls are inventive and packed with fresh ingredients, and the attention to detail is evident in each dish. I got the SCS roll per the server's recommendation, and I really enjoyed it! Portion size was large compared to other sushi restaurants I've been to. Comes with soup and an egg roll. We ordered the Khao Soi, green curry and pad Thai. We were so disappointed of all three dishes. The Khao Soi is quite water down and don't have much of a flavor. The wrong egg noodles were served with the gravy. The pad has some flavor after drowning it with the chili fish sauce and crushed peanuts and bean sprouts, of which you have to ask for it. The green curry is just as plain as bread. Service was excellent though.

The Orange Beef was tender and the batter was light. Don't even need a knife to cut the beef. Honey Walnut Shrimp was also light and tasty. Sio Mai tasted great. A big thumbs up! It was so good that I forgot to take pictures until after we devoured most of the food. My only gripe is it was a little hot in the restaurant. But to be fair it was 105° weather that day.

Nothing really stood out here but nothing was bad at least. I've had plenty of Chinese restaurants in Chinese population dense areas such as Monterey Park, Alhambra, etc. and this doesn't hold up against them in terms of flavor. Service was okay and the ambiance was fine.
