    Scrambled Egg With Prawns

Returned to J's Chinese Cuisine because we were craving it. Especially the sizzling beef rice that is mixed table-side and the special chicken dish with tons of sizzle and crunchy goodness! We also had the scrambled eggs with prawns - the eggs were creamy goodness and the prawns were hefty! We left stuffed. Milk tea was also delicious. Food- 10/10 Service-10/10 Ambience-9/10

This is where you want to eat, trust me. I stopped by Christmas Day for our traditional Xmas dinner - the place was packed but ended up being worth the wait. Delicious flavors and friendly staff. You can taste the quality of the food - not greedy at all.

Their Chinese food is bombbb with great flavors. We got the mapo tofu, orange chicken, and Kung Fu Fish. All were solid dishes and not super spicy. I do wish we could customize the spice levels as I typically prefer my food more on a mild to medium spice.

Been hearing about the Chong Qi Chicken (think of popcorn chicken but w tien tsin chiles & sichuan peppercorn) at J's Chinese Cuisine. Got there before dinner rush. The entree serving was huge!! There was plenty left over. I love the sensation that the sichuan peppers (zesty and extremely numbing) & tien tsin chiles (spicy & burning) give, along w the hint of garlic and other spices. It was deliciously fire!! Only thing that hinders me from enjoying this fully was that the chicken is made with dark meat chicken thighs. Other than that it was still good and I did enjoy it. Girls at the counter were very friendly. Inside was clean, and parking... not sure if there's a back lot for parking since I found a spot on the street, right in front. Chong Qi Chicken is so delicious and if you have not tried it yet, please do!! It's pleasantly spicy and numbing!! I love it!!

The place is located at a corner mini mall off Los Robles and Orange Grove Blvd. There is little parking in front so you have to enter the driveway off Los Robles to parking lot and then go down a ramp to the orange Grove side to finally get to the restaurants entrance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small with a few tables inside- better to take out or order delivery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered online and was given a 30 min completion time, when I arrived the order was ready. The pork fried rice was fluffy and full of flavor, the chow fun was good and the chicken was fried to perfection, when topped with the sweet and sour sauce was the perfect bite. This was the first time I have tried the food it was made fresh and full of flavor. The only thing I would change is the size of the vegetables in the sweet and sour sauce, they need to be cut smaller to make it easier to eat with the fried meat. This place it a definite must!

My family and I went to Americas Got Talent and this Chinese restaurant was perfect and only 6mins away. Parking was easy they had their own little parking garage and easy access to the restaurant. The service was amazing our waitress was on it and took our order and gave us great service. The owner was so sweet she took the time to check on us and had Greg convos with her she was so awesome! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was very nice and quiet this is a great restaurant to go to if you're looking for good authentic Chinese food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner was telling me how she makes sure everything she makes their dishes with is quality food. You can tell even the orange chicken was very good and made with real chicken breast. Everything was very flavorful and soooo good! Our boys loved everything and my husband too. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are wanting Asian food and you're in the Pasadena area!

Not only has the price increased by 20% but the drink has also gotten smaller. The flavor is still consistent from what it used to be but $10.50 for this drink is insane. I'd rather just get a real matcha drink from a legit coffee/matcha spot.

I've been wanting to try Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr. for a while since their original location is in Torrance. I'm really glad they opened a Pasadena location because we're lucky to have one here in the 626 now. Parking was easy since there are spots right in front of the restaurant, but they are metered and cost $2 per hour. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit out on the patio, which was cool and comfortable. To start, we ordered the fried tempura mozzarella sticks ($5.99), onion kakiage ($2.99), and edamame corn kakiage ($5.99). Everything was delicious, but the mozzarella sticks were the clear favorite. They were fried perfectly with an amazing cheese pull and plenty of cheesy flavor. We decided to share all of our entrees family style. For my son, we ordered the plain hot udon, which was simple and perfect for him. For the rest of us, we ordered the Premium Tempura Bowl ($32.97) and added ikura ($4.98), the cold soba with dipping sauce and tempura ($19.99), and Carlos's Jewel Box ($31.99), which came with chopped salmon, toro, yellowtail, and popcorn shrimp over rice. We also added extra toro for $8. On top of that, we ordered a side of five slices of chu-toro for $15.49, which honestly felt like a great deal. The Premium Tempura Bowl was definitely the star of the meal. Every piece of tempura was light, crispy, and fried perfectly without feeling greasy. The fried tempura egg was absolutely chef's kiss, especially once the yolk mixed into the rice. The tempura dipping sauce was also excellent and brought everything together. The Carlos's Jewel Box was another standout. The fish tasted fresh, and the rice with their house sauce paired perfectly with everything. The added toro made it even better. The cold soba was well prepared, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. That's more of a personal preference than anything because the quality was still there. The restaurant has a modern look while still feeling like a cozy mom-and-pop shop. I really liked the decor and the welcoming atmosphere. Since we were the only table sitting outside, I can't really comment on the noise level inside, but the patio was peaceful and relaxing. The service was great. The staff brought out a booster seat for my son and even helped secure it to the patio chair. They also brought us all the condiments, including ginger and pickled vegetables, without us having to ask, which I appreciated. Overall, I would definitely come back. The tempura was some of the best I've had in the 626, and the rice bowls were just as impressive. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend ordering one of the tempura bowls. You really can't go wrong. It's great to see a restaurant that started in Torrance expand to Pasadena because it's a welcome addition to the 626 dining scene.

There was also no crunch to it. I remember the Torrance location tempura had a very nice crunch, batter was light and airy, and it stuck to the food. The sauce is the same, as they put it in the rice instead of you dipping it into a sauce. I also got cold soba on the side since they can't substitute the rice for soba. Soba wasn't anything special. The noodles at the Torrance location is better I promise! The miso soup was okay, didn't really enjoy it that much. It's not your typical miso soup. It has mushrooms in it. The mushroom flavor was too strong for me. Service was meh since we sat down first, but they took the order from our neighbors before us. Their food came out first too. Most likely won't come back to this location again. Not sure if they just had an off day when I went, but I had a disappointing experience.

It consisted of lettuce, avocado, corn, black beans, jicama, tomatoes, onion, quinoa, krispies, kale, cilantro, and cotija. The lettuce wasn't too fresh and there were some that were yellow green but not a big deal. It was packed with flavor even without the chipotle vinaigrette (relieved I got it on the side because I wasn't s big fan). The avocado was very fresh and plentiful. I added chicken for extra $4.74 and it was very tender! Overall, I enjoyed the salad but a bit pricey so it was a good one time experience! The Chicken Pesto Caprese ($14.10) was pretty good. It consisted of chicken, mozzarella, red peppers, pesto, and mixed greens. The greens were very fresh and the sandwich was packed with flavor. The chicken was a little dry but not a big deal. There was a lot of red pepper and it was a bit overwhelming so I wished there wasn't so much. Really enjoyed the pesto since it it wasn't too salty and was the cherry on top to the sandwich! I also really liked that the bread was soft and fresh. Got the "Not so Fried" Chicken Sandwich ($13.68) - 1/2 portion and it came with a side (paid extra $1.26) for tomato basil soup. It consisted of chicken, krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, onions, and herb aioli. The bread was very fresh and soft. I'm glad I got this in half portion because I thought this was just ok and nothing special. The tomato basil soup was very oily and salty so wasn't too enjoyable. The Pomegranate Mint Lemonade ($5.10) was sooo sweet. It was refreshing but the mint was a little too overpowering. Definitely recommend adding ice and/or water otherwise it's way too sweet! Overall, the sandwich and salads were a bit pricey but definitely one of the better spots for sandwiches and salads in terms of quality and quantity!

Everything, and I mean everything, was so delicious. One of the best dim sum places I've been to. The pricing of the items ranged from $8-$10 per item we ordered which is expensive but as a treat every once in a while and for the amount of time and effort that goes into making dim sum, it was worth it. I've tried making dim sum at home and it is so hard! Pricing breakdown: $8 items: - har gow (4 pcs) - siu mai (4 pcs) - black bean spare rib - pan fried turnip cake - egg custard $9 items: - chicken feet $10 items: - shrimp rice noodle roll I think they no longer have the tripe on their menu anymore bc I couldn't find it on their online ordering. Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

The quality was solid, and everything came out hot. The chicken wings were great, the garlic green beans and cucumber salad were amazing, and the signature spicy ramen was really good too. It was a bit greasy, almost like birria, but the meat was tender and the broth tasted like it had been cooking for 48 hours deep, rich, and full of flavor. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor. The meat seemed more steamed than grilled, and not even vinegar or chili oil could save it for me. Other than that, everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.
