For what it is, which is a pizza and pasta house, it hits the mark. The little Italian Nona hostess is nothing less than perfection. The pizza margarita was flavorful and crispy. The Italian entrees we ordered on the second visit were delicious and beautifully plated. There are a variety of Italian classics on the menu as well as specials. We haven't been disappointed yet. Im a well travelled guy... from 5star luxury to old school third world stuff. ive done all ranges of travel and restaurant. I was in delaware for a youth soccer tournament. I sponsor/run the team. so i had to arrange the group meals. 35 people...players and parents. after checking many options, I saw good reviews at Mama Marias and decided to see if they were brave enough ;) to handle 18 (15 year old) soccer players and their parents for a dinner. Deana is the person that answered my call and despite having another large group that night, made the effort to figure out a way/time for us to be accomodated. Always great when people go the extra mile to help! When we we arrived, everything was great. Seems like a family owned spot. Clearly pride of ownership on display. Every person we dealt with was just great. The food (we had a wide variety from pizza to seafood entrees) was all excellent. Definitely fresh. And the best bread ever!!! no joke. Also, the pizza was excellent... im a NY pizza snob... usually think the further one gets from ny, the worse pizza gets... this place dispels that belief. Amazing crust!!! Restaurant is clean. Staff is awesome. Food is great. Vibe is casual... Like most family style Italian places. The picture ive posted shows the more casual area where the players ate. I ordered the pesto pasta with shrimp. So when I I got it there was one shrimp In it and the noodles were over cooked (I ordered angle hair). I call the restaurant to inquire as to why there was only one shrimp and they proceeded to tell me that that was all I ordered. I did not see when I selected the shrimp option nor was I given the option on the app to purchase a certain quantity. But on a practical note who orders just one shrimp and what place would allow it?..... I also ordered the limoncello cake which is $9 and the slice they sent was a small sliver and it honestly was not worth the price (maybe I'll just used to Olive Garden quality). Food is great as always however service has gone downhill. We understand the stress of dealing with COVID and that they are shorthanded but being out right rude and snippy with multiple customers is unsat. We were concerned about how this could hurt business at our favorite restaurant so we called Sal. He did not seem to care or want to hear what happened. Told us this is not a restaurant for us. I called and spoke to a nice lady who said that next time I order she will get me a shrimp cocktail again and make sure that it's cooked. It's been over 3 weeks and I called to make sure that I can get a credit on my order, and this person named Mike answered the phone and was rambling on 50 miles a minute accusing me of lying, and was actually angry, that I didn't order sooner, among other things! He treated me like I was some kind of a criminal.. I am appalled by the customer service of this restaurant in Milford, and I will never ever eat here again. Also this person Mike literally said that he "may be the owner" when I asked him if he was the owner. I hate giving a bad review, even though this is only my opinion, I am disappointed. This is only the second I have ever given, I like giving cheers instead of jeers I believe every place deserves a second chance, we have a second chance and I have to say we won't be going back. Last year we ordered a couple pies from them and the crust was burnt and the pie was oily. We order from them again and crust is burnt and the pizza is oily again, the pizza was so hard to bite we had to use a knife & fork and it was like cutting through cardboard. All the food was overpriced, except the pies, they were reasonably priced. Both times I have been in here they have been dead and practically no business, not really a great sign, especially when you're more of an Italian restaurant and grottos (even worse) pizza is up the road and busy. Although more than likely we will not be back to their place, I really do wish them great success with their new location and I hope they do well there. This place has such great potential, and it seems as though they're wasting that potential away, has the hometown pizzeria feel with a Digorno quality. I stopped by to grab the lunch special...2 slices and a soda. When I walked in, there was no one in the front dining/order area. I saw a guy in the back and he looked at me, then went back to whatever he was doing. I waited a few minutes thinking that he must be extra busy, he saw me and would be right out. Well...heard someone talking in the other dining area and saw the waitress.She was sweeping the floor and talking to customers that were eating their lunch. I could hear her telling them that she was sorry that she was sweeping but she thought that it was not dirt but possible farm animal debris. (yes, animal crap). Well, she eventually noticed me standing there and she said she would be right there. She came into the order area and asked me what I wanted to order. I asked for the lunch special and she said she would check to see if they had slices left. She asked the guy in the back and he said no. This is just so disappointing and probably won't be coming back here. It seems like the service has gone downhill and if it's too late to order lunch around 1 pm, maybe you shouldn't offer it on your menu. The floors were dirty and the server looked like she could use a good washing as well. We heard about Mama Maria's online and decided to come in for dinner. We live in North Jersey and miss good Italian food down here. We won't miss Italian food here anymore. Delicious!!! Every member of the staff we met was friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in to the moment Sal said see you next time. The menu is extensive with tons of Italian specialities, some that have been on the menu since opening. Our server Danielle was very attentive throughout the meal. The meals all came with soup or salad (all delicious). If you don't like a lot of dressing, just ask for it on the side. I didn't mind though and used the FANTASTIC HOMEMADE BREAD fresh out of the over to soak it up. Our meals were fantastic. Eggplant rollatini was fresh and well proportioned. Scallops in the daily special were well cooked and the white wine sauce was flavorful. The veal was tender and juicy. The lasagna was perfectly layered with meat and cheese, lots of extra sauce. Everything was piping hot and generously proportioned. We wanted dessert but we were way too full. There's always next time. Because we will certainly be back!! read more

Pleasantly surprised. Just had dinner here this evening. Ended up here because another restaurant was booked. I'm from NY/NJ area so I rarely choose Italian in other places, just assuming it won't be as good. I was wrong tonight. Our table ordered the calamari and arancini apps. Both delicious. Calamari was nice and crispy, not greasy at all. We all ordered pasta entrees and everyone cleaned their plates. Lobster ravioli, crab ravioli, mussels over linguine, chicken parm with penne. The restaurant is in a good location. The restaurant itself is clean and bright. I was very disappointed and the fact that I had asked for extra sauce to go with my entree when I was leaving and I was charged a dollar fifty. I was also charged $0.75 for an extra roll. New location, exceptional service, and the food's to die for! We get to stop in at least once a year and were lucky to accidentally notice that Mama Maria's had moved to a new location. The restaurant looks fresh and inviting. We were warmly welcomed and tended to throughout our time there. I had the chicken cheesesteak (OMG, the bread!!!) and my daughter had the pizza (she kept saying "Mmmmm"). We were very happy campers and I can't wait to come back during my vacation in three weeks! Good Italian food is a challenge to find in Delaware. Mama Maria's is very good. We have had several meals here and they have all been very good. You will not be disappointed. I order here all the time. Not any longer. And it's interesting how one worker can literally chase a customer out for good. One thing I don't deal with is rude. However I will say I ordered a month again I ordered ravioli and that is one thing I would never ever order there again because the sauce literally tasted like some can sauce. It was horrible. Their pizza has always been pretty good however I went in to pick up my pizza and I looked at it and said Yeah this was supposed be well done. I close my wallet and I walked out. She then came after me to my vehicle and said oh we can do that. I said don't worry about it. I said it should've been well done instead of a simple apology she said that as well done as she was laughing in my face. So my business is now at Frederica pizza. Went there for the first time tonight since I moved back east and it was legit amazing. And the prices match the prices on their website not like this place where their website as well as yelp does not match the prices. A mama's specialty pizza says $21 and it has for a very long time and every time you go in there it's actually $23. They do not tell customs that over the phone. Also if management or the owners wanted to make my situation right they had 10 seconds before I walked out that front door to stop me and they could had called me to apologize since they had my phone number yet they chose not to. So one star on here and all of their site and next I will hit all social media. Not a simple apology this must be why there seems to be only a few cars parked out front every time I go there. Stopped in for a "quick bite" and ended up liking this place enough for it to be one of our go-to places for the future. Very friendly waitress who knows her menu, coupled with fresh food delivered hot and fast, and a nice environment. Prices might be a tiny bit higher than you might expect, but we didn't mind a bit. The pizza had a nice crunchy crust, which my wife loves. I had the veal parmigiana sub (not on the menu, but they make it) which was outstanding.
