A nice touch was when the waitress found out it was my birthday, without being my asked she added a sparkler candle to my dessert and 4 of the staff members serenaded me by singing Happy Birthday... and theirs voices were lovely (probably Broadway actors). What a beautiful restaurant with a great location, right near a few big Times Square theaters. My friends and I went to a late dinner after a show in May and had a wonderful experience. Started with Fried Calamari served with two dipping sauces, one red and one white - both excellent. Moved on with two beautifully prepared entrees. Halibut and Branzino were fresh and very tasty. Pre- dinner cocktails, although priced a bit on the high side, were prepared by a very capable bartender who made them with her own twist. Definitely worth a visit. My hubby and I visited the Gatsby Landing for a Pre-Dinner Theater stop. It's extremely convenient if you're going to see a show at (name theater). Our server was well-versed on the drink and full menu, and it was clear that he really liked the place where he worked. I'll start with the drinks. We ordered the Tropical Coconut Martini and the Limoncello French Martini. The coconut Martini was rich and flavorful, and the sweetness of the coconut was lovely but not overpowering. The Limoncello French Martini was definitely my favorite. It was a great balance of sweet and tart; it was a great flavor pallette. For food, we ordered the Lamb with a Pistachio, truffle crumble. The lamb was cooked the perfection. While I enjoyed the crumble, I really didn't taste the truffle flavor. My lamb came with a side of potatoes that, when I ate them with the lamb, were a nice pairing, but when eaten alone, they were slightly underseasoned. My hubby had the Lasagna. The dish had a wonderful consistency, with the distribution of cheese and sauce. But the secret ingredient that sent that dish over the top: Mexican chorizo mixed in with the meat. That set the Lasagna apart from other Lasagna plates we've had at other restaurants. Chef's kiss! While I chose this restaurant mostly because of its distance from the theater I was going to that evening, I found Gatsby Landing to be a lovely surprise in the Theater/Times Square District. read more

Been here twice back: I got the blackened halibut special and it was fine but wouldn't necessarily get again. I thought the Pimento on the side was delicious though - cheesy with good texture. I got lunch prix fixe for the first time on a different occasion. I actually don't remember how much I liked the salmon but the soup of the day (seafood chowder?) wasn't to my liking. The primary flavors were lemon and elderflower so it was refreshing and bubbly. The oil and bread were top notch- the olive oil was the most delicious I've ever tasted and I've dined at amazing restaurants in Italy! I ordered the seared halibut with seasonal veggies, while my husband ordered the Lasagna with Chorizo. Both were exquisite! Finally, we ended with the Tiramisu which was LEGIT. My first trip to Gatsby's was so positive, as I reflected in my original review -- my second time was, unfortunately, a disappointment! A friend and I went for lunch before a weekend matinee performance. This time, I had the Cacio e Pepe pasta; the sauce was almost a gravy, and way over peppered. We decided to share a dessert, the Bombolini, filled with Nutella. The doughnuts themselves were thick and heavy, and we could hardly taste the Nutella. This place is near my office so I decided to return one day for a late lunch. I ignored the reasonable Prix-Fixe menu for items that I wanted to try instead so it ended up rather expensive (over $100 before tax & tip)! The waitress was friendly & I asked her for recommendations. I started out with the Pink Colada mocktail (coconut cream, pineapple juice, coconut water, cranberry juice) which was delicious, and the crab cake app (which was a single, large crab cake with salsa verde & roasted red pepper remoulade) that was very good. For my entree I had their Ravioli of the day, which was a chicken/ricotta/cottage cheese ravioli in a brown butter sauce. The waitress had said they make their pastas fresh, and that this would be creamy because of the cottage cheese, but it tasted dry & grainy & overly salty to me. I found this dish to be disappointing. The waitress, who kept checking in to see how everything was, apologized (and hopefully gave feedback to the chef?) that it wasn't enjoyable for me. I finished with a lovely creme brûlée (topped with raspberry sauce & toasted almonds) & a cappuccino. Except for the ravioli, the meal was tasty, though pricey. The ambiance & decor is very nice and the service is good. The venue itself is great, beautiful interiors with a couple of different seating areas so you don't feel crowded and could come for a more formal or more casual event. My friend made a reservation here simply because it was close to a show we were going to - and we were so pleasantly surprised! All of our cocktails were exceptional (and so pretty), but the food was next level. I wanted to lick my plate after having the duck carbonara - and my friend said the same about the safe brown butter sauce in her ravioli dish. The pastas were light, but decadent. We were near the kitchen and saw many meals pass us throughout the night and honestly everything looked delicious. We also shared the creme brulee (yum!) and one of their pizza specials with a delicious pistachio honey crumble on it...BIG YUM. To start, the text messages that we received from the restaurant for confirming our reservation did not have information that matched what we were given and heard when this was reservation was being booked which made visiting confusing. Upon arrival, the restaurant was very dark and even though the restaurant was busy, it was super quiet like in a library. Our server was friendly but as soon as she took our order we did not see her and had a hard time getting anyone's attention for refills on our waters, more drinks, etc. The food was presented beautifully and cooked perfectly. The problem I have with this restaurant is they want 3.2% if you use your credit card now, how many people in New York City bring cash? I have been to seven restaurants since I've been here this week and not one of them had that!!! that's makes me a very unhappy customer. I feel if there after it there service responsibility to pay the fee of the credit card, which I'm sure wasn't 3.2 I hope this is just one of many because I would not be a happy customer in any restaurant that does that and I mentioned it to the waiter and he had attitude about it read more

We had many employees bring us drinks, taking our order, asking us how everything was. The food was good and the drinks even better. We got the brick chicken and the vegetable lasagna. The seasoning was great on the chicken but lacked something with the lasagna. It tasted ok, but needed salt. We didn't have any on the table so I just let it be. The place was very nicely decorated. I saw good Yelp reviews and as a Gatsby enthusiast, was eager to try Gatsby's Landing. Beautiful interior with that Gatsby mansion feel! The burrata with pesto was really tasty. The creative cocktail menu is fun. My cosmo with white cranberry juice was great. My friend had one of their other fruity ones. So pretty. We shared some shrimp cocktail and a cheese and salami plate--perfect for pre theater dining. Of course we chatted it up with our very nice bartender. Had to take her photo! She makes wonderful cocktails, that's for sure. Restaurant is currently obscured by scaffolding. Once inside, it is so lovely. We will definitely go back. Cheers! read more

On a Friday day around 6:30pm my friend and I were looking at the menu outside the restaurant. Someone came out and said the food great go in. So we did lol. They were packed. 20 minutes for a table or the bar was open so we sat at the bar. The drink menu was inviting for someone like me who doesn't drink often. It had familiar flavors with a touch of class. My friend and I got the Pina colada mocktail. The lighting was low and the tables are quite close to each other. The menu is two pages. I got the brick chicken and my filet mignon medium well. I informed the bartender that I'm gluten free. He said he would let the kitchen know. There's no allergy indicators on the menu. The food came out 30 minutes later. The plates looked appetizing. Unfortunately the outside of my friends filet was burnt. It really killed the flavor but it was a great cut of steak. My chicken had hits of rosemary in the meat. The juice underneath was sopped up when I ate the potatoes. We were checked on regularly by the bartenders. This is a nice spot to visit if you are roaming the city. Not exactly somewhere I'd visit regularly. read more

Decided to hop on the train and head into the city for Christmas in NYC. After Rockefeller Center, headed to Gatsby's Landing for a late lunch. Upon entering, the decor was modern and fresh. Had a 3:30 reservation, arrived at 3:00 and surprisingly we we're sat. We had no problems going to the bar and chilling, but they put us at our table...nice! Started off with a few appetizers and salad. My daughter was a fan of the Burrata, more so the garlic toast. The pesto was flavorful, Burrata could have been creamier tho. BBQ wings were tasty. I'm a fan of roasted wings, plus these were fat. The BBQ sauce war meh. Also grabbed the Baby Roasted Beets Salad. The candied walnuts we're the star and complimented the vinaigrette nicely. Followed up with Margherita and Wild Mushroom pizzas. The Margherita was decent, perhaps the sauce could've been more flavorful. The mushroom pizza wasn't bad. The comment at the table was, "the chef could've showed the mushrooms some love before putting on the pizza." The Gatsby Burger was on point! Can't go wrong with a short rib burger. Also mine was cooked to perfection and the sautéed onions were tasty. One of the specials was the chicken parm with homemade fusilli. I must say the pasta was very good and definitely made fresh. The chicken was juicy, again the sauce could've used a little more zing. Save room for deserts. Although, I didn't partake, grabbed coffee and certainly fresh. My oldest daughter had a couple margaritas and had no complaints. Decent beer and wine list. It's just two separate photos of Jake Gyllenhaal and Christian Slater that were placed up there even though they're not photos of them at the restaurant.
