This was Restaurant Week pick. I wanted to try a independently owned local place. So here we are my mom and I for lunch. This place is really big inside. It has a diner vibe. The lovely ladies at the counter were welcoming. We started off with smoothies that were made fresh. I was them juicing the fruits. They were delicious. This was part of the restaurant week menu. We then got the spam masubi which was not great. In my mind I expected a Hawaiian style one but this was just spam, white rice wrapped in seaweed. We also go thr meat pies that made up for the spam masubi. The meat pies crust smelled of butter and tasted lole a buttery pie crust. The meat inside was a bit spicy which was a good spice level for me but not for my mom. The meat inside was so flavorful. Both teriyaki bowls were just okay. The salmon was a bit overcooked and the spam could of been cooked a bit more. At the end, they gave us the puff puffs for free. They were crispy on the outside and doughy inside with carmel on top. This was so tasty and sweet. A perfect treat to end the meal. I need to go back and try their goat fried rice, goat stew and goat curry. Yes, I love goat. read more

This was an unusual but nonetheless great experience. Unusual because I came just as they opened so, in fairness, they hadn't really hit their stride regarding ambience but the food was fantastic. I got oxtails and bbq chicken wings (a little overkill, I know) and my only complaint is that there weren't more oxtails. It was filling but they were REALLY good and seasoned just right. (I'm rolling around ideas in my head as to what to do with the leftover oxtail sauce. There's not a lot left but it was so good that just can't bear the thought of throwing out the leftovers. Now about dem chicken wings...first time I ever had really tasty barbecue wings that weren't TOO over barbecue-y. It was a beautiful blend of taste and heat. I was driving around and found this place worth checking out for lunch. Inside has ample seating area. There's two big screens with World Cup soccer game playing. Service is slow, but the order taker was nice and I was in no rush. I ordered the beef, chicken & shrimp yakisoba with a side of veggie egg rolls. Both came to my table fresh and piping hot. The flavors were okay. My mom's egg rolls are hard to beat. Next time, I will come back and try more exotic dishes, like the curry goat and egusi soup! read more

Wow I was truely impressed by this place!! Not only do they have African cuisine but Japanese too. My friend from Lagos said I should try Nigerian food so he took me here and said it was the best in town. I have to admit I was a bit nervous bc I know how spicy it can get. Let me tell ya it was spicy but I tolerate it well. The service was great and the owner came out to greet everyone! Food was terrific! Started with goat soup . if you've never had goat, it can get bony but the meat is delicious similar to lamb. Then we also had okra soup with a starchy ball (don't remember the name.) but you eat this with your hands. Then I had oxtail stew boy was that delicious. Neville was so attentive and hospitable! I loved how warm and welcoming the whole staff were. I got the oxtail soup with fufu along with chicken joloff--big proportions that I was able to share and still had leftovers. They ran out of egusi but said that they would let us know when they would have it again--so thoughtful of them! They also gave us puff puffs paired with 2 sauces which was so so amazing.
