Took apart the drunken eggplant parm.

Hit or miss. Lately, not so good. Ordered an eggplant vodka sauce parm a few weeks ago and there was a piece of meat in it. They did bring a new one and was just okay. Not much sauce. Gave another try today. Disgusting - cheese was not melted. I don't even know what kind of cheese was on it. Took it apart to get the cheese off.

I ordered online pickup, quick and easy to get. I got the Caesar Wrap with grilled chicken and it was delectable! Great romaine/chicken/crouton/dressing ratio. I also got a good vibe from the place from seeing others enjoy their lunch. I will definitely be returning to try something new!

Drunken Parm is to die for! We have been here 4 times now, this place does not disappoint. Make sure you follow them on instagram to see their specials beforehand... That's how I gage my walk or run speed!

Well I found a new lunch option while working in the office! Stopped in at Mama Rao's yesterday for the first time and thought it was awesome. So many choices! I ordered the sausage and peppers sandwich to go. The bread slightly toasted , filled with sausage and orange and yellow peppers tasted great! I'm already thinking of what I'm ordering next time. There are tables inside for dining, but on a beautiful day like yesterday, Lurker Park is right up the street and the option of sitting outdoors eating that sandwich was a good choice!

I always look forward to coming here. The food is fantastic. Sometimes it's for lunch and at other times to pick-up something for dinner whe I'm not cooking.. Mama Rao's Kitchen is a specialty deli offering Italian cuisine. The East Hanover location is one of two, the other is located on 11th avenue in Brooklyn. Most of their business is take-out and catering with a few tables set opposite the service counter for indoor dining. This review is about lunch, Mama Rao's has a steady flow of customers but lines move quickly. They know their business and execure it efficiently. I ordered the "Chef Angela" 7'' sub ($10.99) which consisted of imported Mortadella, provolone, hot cherry peppers, lettuce & tomato with a vinaigrette. It was delicious. They have a 12" ($13.99) "Chef Angela" but even though I'm 6'1" and 210 lbs, the 7" is enough for me. They do not skip on the ingredients including the meat and quality cheeses. The bread here is a star. It is homemade and baked daily. It has a crunch on the outside and a lightness inside. Their large menu includes a sub sandwich option they call build your own which I like.

Not much to talk about food was very expensive. Some of it looked a little dried out probably wouldn't take another ride over here.

There's no restroom in the seating area (I'm sure they have one in the back) and the seating situation is super basic. I decided to eat in anyway, and the cashier very kindly brought me a paper plate with extra napkins. This drunk chicken sandwich (vodka sauce) was enormous; I knew right away that I'd have leftovers. The flavor was excellent. But I wish they wouldn't wrap the sandwich in foil like that. Not only does it look less appetizing, but I t really threatens to make the bread moist on the way to your house. Also I found the chicken a bit chewy. It is a bit out of the way, so there's plenty of parking when you get there.

Do not order this if you do not like olives. I never got served olives on a chef salad. I was hoping for a salad matching their sandwich portions. Little tiny scraps of Ham and cheese and barely a bit of turkey. My guest ordered ham, salami & provolone Sandwich, requested mayo, no mayo. Also requested to heat in oven (warm sub popular in many places). They absolutely refused to serve a heated sub. I will make a can of tuna and dump it over salad for tonight, and she took sub to heat in oven at home. The employee at the counter could tell we were not enjoying this lunch ($40 total) but did not seem to care. I will not be back. I have given this location 5 stars in the past.

The staff I encountered were friendly & patient, which is shockingly not the norm these days! I ordered the tuna melt & fries & took a seat at the counter. I was the only one sitting along the counter, but there are also a few tables in the back that had parties at them. My food was ready relatively quickly & was served to me with a smile. The fries were of the steak cut variety, which aren't my favorite, but no fault of the delis - just my personal preference. They were cooked well & served hot - can't ask for much more! The tuna melt was actually a sandwich & not an open faced sandwich, as they tend to be, and I found that to be a pleasant surprise. Open faced tend to get soggy quickly. The tuna was aplenty & it was delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted & buttery as well. I do wish it was served with a pickle spear, though. Not sure if that's the norm & mine was forgotten or if it is not served as such. Either way, I'm obviously grasping at straws. Otherwise, it was a delightful lunch. I'm happy to have discovered The Cutting Board & even happier they are in the immediate area of my job, I will definitely be back to try more.
