Been there several times and really liked their food; except, the last time. Got the fried pork belly as a carry out. It was so dry and overcooked even the dogs had a problem eating it. Ate several pieces and couldnt finish it. This was around 5pm. Went to bed at 10pm and got up during the night feeling nauseated. From that point and the next 24 hrs, I was sick, sick, sick. I can't wait to go here for breakfast as that seems to be a bigger menu. We went in as I was going to use a Groupon. Even though they closed in a half hour, they said it was no problem to eat in, staff is very gracious and helpful! As my hubby is a cook and I know what all needs to be done to close, I told them thank you, but next time! My hubby isn't all that adventurous so he got the half chicken platter with garlic rice and coleslaw. Devoured it. Inhaled it. Daughter is only 13 so she got the tenders and fries. The place is greasy, they need to tidy up the place, I wonder if this place is being visited by a true dedicated certified food inspector. Take a closer look on the drinks/Soda/ice dispenser for some molds. The food is alright, some are not. They need to stop giving this free broth, unless they make sure it really taste what it supposed to be. Please be reminded that they cannot handle multiple orders systematically...no lines and customers tend to pile up on the whole stretch of the food on display during mealtime/ lunch hours. Excellent food at an even better price...our party of three had chicken, pork belly and a vegetable dish...everyone was happy with their choices. When we explained that we were not familiar with Filipino cuisine, they let us try different dishes to make sure that we knew what we were ordering. Authentic Filipino cuisine!! And GOOD!!! Walking into this quaint little eatery was a precious surprise. They have a grocery store! Authentic Filipino desserts, cooking spices/supplies. But the food...I'd never eaten authentic Filipino cuisine. Took a Filipino friend here as a surprise. She raved about breakfast menu. Authentic fish, chicken and beef dishes. I had the Tapsilog marinated beef breakfast. I came with 2 eggs any style on top of a bed of rice. The beef was sooo tender!! It practically melted in my mouth. Rice was perfectly cooked and the eggs prepared properly! Topped that off with a Mango juice...Heaven. She had the Jeproxsilog fish dish for breakfast. The fish was nice and crispy. Holy cow this place is incredible. Always saw it on the corner of the street by me but never stopped by until today. I got the calamari and tapa (beef) sizzling plate with garlic rice. I'm not kidding when I say this is some of the best food I've ever had for a quick bite. So glad I discovered this place!!! I will be going regularly now. My husband and I stopped in here because I had been wanting to try sinigang after watching Sheldon make it on top chef. Unfortunately, they did not have it today, and I had no idea what anything else was, so I ordered the rotisserie chicken with a side of mixed veggies, and fried plantains. All was really good. It was nice to get something a little different ( they were like stir fry veggies cooked in beef broth) with your rotisserie. My husband got the ribs, which I tasted and were very good, the mashed, and the plantains, both of which he liked. So, even if you don't want to try Filipino food, give this place a try. read more

I was in the area to get a storm glass window fixed and a friend mentioned this place a while back. People were nice. It is a small mom and pop ethnic style eatery. Plenty of tables to sit at. They have a menu board but a lot of menu items are shown on home made pics on laminated 8.5 x 11 paper. I ordered the 1/2 rotisserie chicken it was dry and room temp but flavor was fine. Not many side choices- fries, cornbread, white rice, n cole slaw. I got the cole slaw. It was sweet with a touch of vinegar. Should you stop and try this place? My girlfriend and I absolutely love Mama Rosa's. We live in the city but gladly make frequent trips to Middle River for the great food. They have a great selection and we love how they post their menu on Facebook so we can easily see what they are serving that day. I find that I am usually trying something new every time that I go and I love it. Also, the staff has been very nice and helpful every time I have visited. Mama Rosa is one of the 3 Filipino restaurants in the Baltimore County but the farthest from the west. Even with a longer drive it takes than the other 2 Filipino restaurants, it's worth going for a Sunday Filipino food buffet. There are about 10 kinds of Filipino dishes serve and they change weekly. So go to their Facebook page to check the week's menu. Under $10, the buffet includes 2 kinds of desserts but not the soda fountain drink. There is outdoor seating but the parking spaces can get packed up and it is near the busy road. I had a bad experience with one that cooked (heavy set gentleman) the pancit..I politely asked him how long the pancit will take because I was waiting about 30-40mins ...he gave me a bad look and rudely said , that I am not the only one waiting for pancit... I just simply asked how much longer for my food, but he gave me a bad attitude.. The young lady with the black hat on the register apologized to me for his behaviour.. I was craving Asian food, my friend told me about this place, and I LOVED IT! I ORDERED pinoy meal and also bought frozen tocino to take home to cook. The food was Great.I got so full and portions were perfect.but I must say I was very impressed with the service. I came when it was busy, there was a line full of ppl, but the lady on the cashier was very calm and very polite. Although she had alot of ppl in line, she greeted me with a smile and took good care of me as I ordered. To me customer service is very important, especially it being my first time there, and I applaud that young lady with black hat and a beautiful smile for being calm and friendly even when she had alot of customers. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. By chance it was on the way home from dropping my daughter off. It was not a waste of my time and it was actually very good. The desserts we're nicely packaged and it took all I can of my willpower do not get every single one of them. I settled for some bolabola siopao, lechon kawali, kare kare, dinuguan, garlic rice, gulaman for drinks and suman as lights. It was all good not quite the taste as homemade the way my family made it but it was quite good. I have been in Baltimore for about 20 years now and for the last couple years I have found two restaurants that I have to compare to. Both are equally good and offer different things. If I am on this part of the woods I will definitely come here. It was good, filling and very friendly. The prices are reasonable for the stuff you get. They even have a buffet! I like this place. I'm used to filipino food, having traveled there many times and being married to a filipino, so I sort of knew what to expect. I felt the prices to be somewhat reasonable. The service was good - people were kind, perhaps a bit shy but kind. The place could be a bit more clean, the bathroom was disgusting and the tables were dirty, music too loud and it was cold. I really wanted to like this place, but the food was flat awful. The noodles tasted like MSG and were so overwhelmingly salty that they were inedible. The ribs were dry and overcooked. The sides (coleslaw and potato salad) tasted like they came from the prepared foods section of a grocery store. I thought I was going to a Filipino restaurant, but the dishes turned out to be more American than anything else, just really poorly prepared.
