    Tuna, LTO on everything bagel

Stopped for a quick lunch. Tiny place with one little table. Looks like you can sit outside in nicer weather. We had a Tuna & a chicken salad on an everything bagels! Yummmmmm. Will definitely go back! The Asiago & French toast bagels looked amazing. A menu board with prices would be a welcome addition. The laminated pages with pics of items was not too user friendly.

Ever since Bagel Barn closed a while back, New Milford has been lacking a great grab-and-go breakfast spot on the main drag. After a while, Mama's finally opened up in the Staples plaza. When you walk in, you'll notice that they don't have a menu. You see the bagels and the cold salads, and coffee and espresso machines, but you have to guess at what they have -- and how much it will cost. Fortunately, they have all the typical breakfast items at what turned out to be reasonable prices. I didn't know they had eggs or bacon, so I ordered their egg everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. I don't typically like carb-filled breakfasts, but Mama's is changing my mind fast. Egg Everything might be my new favorite bagel, and the scallion cream cheese complemented it perfectly. Someone I was with ordered a turkey sandwich on a bagel, and the filling was so generous that she's saving the other half for lunch. (I couldn't get a bite.) We dined in. They have only one table, next to the cold salad case, so we spent our time staring at their lunch options. If we hadn't filled up on bagels, the Greek salad and spinach orzo salads look wonderful.

To my surprise, they have pizza Sicilian style. Very tasty.

Mamas bagels - approaching the best bagels in New Milford. Variety of food available; some Spanish dishes, too!

Excellent bagels at an affordable price, great service. I go there after working out next door at Planet Fitness. You can not go wrong.

But, the food was pretty good (standard) and the price was right. Look, it's simple food, I mean real simple (the potatoes that come with eggs are just potatoes, no onion, no peppers, plain cut potatoes) -- that's the best way to describe it. The price was inexpensive and the coffee was status-quo which was better than I remembered when last visiting. The little side of strawberry jelly they bring with your toast is a definitely a NICE touch. Seriously enjoyed that!

There was only one waitress serving everybody in the place. It was weird because she had like AirPods or earphones in her ears or something and kept disappearing. There's plenty of seating inside and out. It could be decorated nicer. There's just something about this place that just does reach its full potential. we ordered an omelette, eggs, Benedict, and two items from the Daily special menu. Shrimp Tostones. plate and a Spanish plate. With the eggs Benedict, one of the poached eggs were too well done and stainless muffins weren't crispy enough to hold it all.

"Ceviche" -- not at all acidic, and lukewarm. But probably a better option given that we were already shivering outside in the cold.

Really!! Next we ordered a Reuben with extra crispy fries. They came out perfectly done with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and tenderness on the inside. It also came with cole slaw, again, homemade The sandwich was served in seedless rye. When I asked the server, Sam, about where it was made he said it was brought in from a baker in NY. The corned beef was exceptional and, again homemade. The first thing you see when you walk in is their big dessert case. We didn't have room but we sure wanted to get something. When you go, mind your appetite. In other words, LEAVE ROOM. We will be going back, When I asked about where the desserts were made I was told that they are all made in premises, too! Surprise! Sam, our server was amazing. He made us feel like we were his only clients but without overdoing it. It's a nice place to sit and eat. It's so reminiscent of a classic NYC diner. If you're passing through, you should stop. Bon appétit.
