Busy and exciting when you walk inside. The vibes are energetic and the decor is modern and clean. Lots of different choices here to make with the pastry selection. Tried the almond croissant, and had the salted tahini honey latte which was well made and does not have an overwhelming honey taste like most of this kind do. Will be back to try the made to order breakfast and lunch food. Enjoy! Try the seasonal Banana Latte, unreal.

Great takeout option for an office day! It's a healthier choice, and the coffee is great. My favorite is the honey lavender latte. I love it both iced and hot. The order was also ready so quickly for pickup, which was super convenient. The decor inside the store is so cute as well. I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the office!

    Blueberry Lavender Iced Matcha Latte

Maman has been spawning in the DMV like rabbits, and they have made their way into Ballston at the previous Greenheart / Philz (rip) spot. The interior is beautiful with its farmhouse aesthetic and florals that makes the whole place more cozy. There are a good amount of tables (small) and seating, but it's a bit of a tight-squeeze. BLUEBERRY LAVENDER ICED MATCHA LATTE (LARGE) - 8.50 +oatmilk I tried a bit of the blueberry-lavender syrup before mixing, and it was really fragrant and not too sweet. However, the matcha was awful. The texture was chalky and mud-like with a harsh astringent flavor that stayed in my mouth for awhile. Yuck! I couldn't finish it, and I most definitely regret my drink. After tax, it was 9.25. Again, great interior, but terrible, terrible matcha. If I'm back, I'll try their pastries (which is more of what they're known for) and will definitely avoid anything with matcha.

I'll be honest. The food looks great, the coffee was tasty, and the atmosphere is awesome. However, I don't think I could become a frequent flyer because of the prices. The pastries were $5-6 which was reasonable. But, I ordered their seasonal almond croissant latte and it was $9.25. The latte was good but I felt very over priced. I love a good coffee shop but can't stomach almost $10 just for a coffee. Love the decor and the atmosphere though, it was very busy as well.

    Burnt bacon black.

The bacon was burnt (see photo) definitely the worst part of the sandwich. Underneath what you see in the photo, the bits were totally black. I wanted to try this place because I love eating breakfast out and it was a member of the InKind app. Service was not stellar: long wait for the food (maybe to burn the bacon even more). Coffee served black without asking if I wanted cream or sugar, which could only be added by her. Noticeable chill after I "only" tipped $1 at the kiosk. Not even a "thank you." On the positive side, the atmosphere is pleasant, more like a tearoom. I won't be returning. For some reason, photo not showing up with this review. We got here around 9:45am. There was a line to the door but not out the door. It moves quick so don't worry. I got a matcha latte with milk (iced, small) and estee's bacon, egg, and cheese with no ketchup. I came across this place in NYC, at Moynihan train hall oddly enough and thought it looked familiar. I'm excited that it's landed in Ballston. The sandwich was really really good. I highly recommend hitting up estee for her 'wich. Matcha was solid too.

Maman had great coffee, cute two-person tables, and an excellent selection of pastries, including a strawberry citrus "cruffin" that was delightful!

Maman on Wilson Boulevard in Arlington (Ballston area) is a popular cafe known for its charming French-country style, with floral decorations and a cozy, garden-like atmosphere. It offers exceptional coffee, seasonal drinks, and pastries such as Orange Pistachio Olive Oil Tea Cake, Kouign Maman, Martha Stewart's Milk Chocolate Creme Brulee Sugar Bun, and Pear & Cardamom Turnover. The cafe also serves high-quality breakfast items like Andrea's Smoked Salmon Croissant Sandwich and Caitlin's Breakfast Wrap, making it an ideal spot for breakfast, coffee, pastries, and gatherings or relaxing in the Ballston area.

    Matcha strawberry lemonade

TLDR; overhyped and overpriced. I've been here about three times and the place is consistently lackluster. The drinks are made to an ungodly sweetness and the pastries aren't too special. The baristas work on autopilot -- if it says no ice, they'll fill it with ice and to the brim such that putting a to-go cap on the drink turns into a messy test of patience. The baristas show no semblance of customer service and throw a sloppy drink together if you point out a faulty order. I had to pour out my drink so I could add water, and if you can believe it, it didn't blend during the pour -- it came to me looking like sewage water. There are better cafes in the area, so don't waste your time here. Update: a couple of hours later and the lemonade started wreaking havoc on my stomach

    Too much cream coffee

I come here just about every day since they have opened, and it is not just Maman's!! But does anyone remember b4 covid when we could put in our own cream? Every time I come I order coffee with half and half on the side, over half the time my coffee comes with cream in it!! My $5 dollar cup of coffee is something I paid for and nobody really knows how I like to mix my cream! Then after I have taken my half and half with lukewarm coffee, the prompt comes up for tip? 18% minimum 20% and 22%? WTH? How about charge what you need too for the item so you can pay employees and I only have to tip if it was earned!! Because that will s what a tip is, something earned by doing your job in an amazing fashion!! I have a hard time tipping a person who turns around pulls a lever and fills the cup. And half the time they cannot follow the simplest of instructions!! Yano "cream on the side!" I also have a problem with the "rewards app" that you have to give someone your phone so they can scan a code? On my phone! And I am not sure why there is a "scan to pay" button? This feature has not worked yet for my wife or I? In spite of a few glitches, the coffee is very good and the atmosphere here is very nice. The service is great and the baked goods counter that they make you (tempt you) with all of their deliciousness stuff!!!! And they have a lot of temptations so a fat kid like me has to double up on his will power! Cause I think I have gained 12 pounds in the couple weeks they have been opened, and I have not eaten here yet?? I think it's just the smell of the "much deliciousness" where all that weight gain came from? (Wink wink nod nod) great place in all honesty!!

We ordered Maman's chocolate chip cookie and a strawberry "cruffin", which I'm betting is a cross between a muffin and a croissant.

I've had the pie and coffee before and loved. But the other items are new. I'll start with the McLovin: it's incredible! All the flavors work together nicely. The buttermilk biscuit is nice and fluffy and the sausage is well seasoned and egg was cooked to perfection with some melty cheese! The PB Cup in and blanket was yummy too! I ordered the pistachio latte, ham & cheese croissant, regular coffee, and a slice of carrot cake. The pistachio latte was very good, although a little on the sweet side. The carrot cake was a standout. The slice was huge, moist, and not overly sweet or heavy on the coconut. There were bits of toffee (I think!) around the outer frosting that added a delicious little crunch. The croissant itself was flaky and delicious, but the ham and cheese filling was pretty minimal. Good thing I wasn't too hungry! If you're looking for something more substantial, the lunch sandwiches they were putting out looked like they would do the trick. The interior is bright and spacious, with a high bar along the wall, several chairs, a high-top table, and smaller tables throughout. There's also a patio for nice-weather days. One thing to watch out for: some of the tables wobble. I discovered this the hard way when I accidentally spilled my wife's coffee just trying to sit down. Apparently, the table wanted to participate in breakfast too. The staff was friendly, and with so many options to choose from, there's definitely something for everyone. I'd happily come back to try more of their pastries and sandwiches. A great first visit with plenty of tasty options, though I'd like to see a little more ham and cheese in that croissant!
